II: Eraqus
He has been teaching his apprentices for many years and has been a master for many more. He has strong memories of much younger Terra and Aqua. He can easily recall many times where he has praised them or shown affection. But where there is pride and love for Terra and Aqua, there is a distance for Ventus. Xehanort had brought Ventus to him empty and broken and though he believes his friend's explanation his heart whispers that Xehanort could easily take Ventus away, just as empty and broken as he arrived. It's only fitting that the boy he holds at a distance would do no more than raise his voice in Eraqus' direction but the boy he cherishes as a son would raise a weapon to him with ease. After being struck down by Xehanort, he is ashamed to admit that it took getting stabbed to recognize that the man he's known for years was there, he sees. Sees everything that is going to happen and had happened to his students. Instantly, he feels regret. He should've kept them close and confronted Xehanort so long ago. Above all, Master Eraqus wishes that he had told all three of his apprentices that he loved them with every ounce of his being. But, surrounded by the darkness in Terra's heart that holds far more than traces of Xehanort's dark influence, he can't even tell the boy whose heart he is now residing in about his feelings. And that has to be the most ironic twist of them all.
A/N: I tried to tell you. It's not too late to go read a fic about a happy little elf.
