Cassandra charged at the bounty hunter swinging her sword in every direction as the man either dodged or blocked the swings. "Hm... Rather feisty, aren't ya? I was told that you would be an aggressive swords woman."
"You were told right! Because you just went and incurred my wrath!" Cassandra exclaimed as she continued swinging until the man found the opportunity and pushed Cassandra back. He lunged at the Greek girl but she managed to use her shield to block it.
The man took some steps back and regained his stance. Cassandra stood her ground as Xianghua leaped on the Greek's back and briefly flew through the air going in for a dive but the man managed to avoid the attack. The man then got ready to stab the Chinese girl yet he missed as Xianghua lunged back at him.
"Hold still, you jerk!" Xianghua demanded as she continued attacking.
The man avoided the swings and lunges as he chuckled and said "Yer a joke! That blonde lass makes a more better challenge than you could ever hope to be!"
Xianghua was peeved of what she just heard. "Wh-What did you just say?!"
"I'd say takin you first will be easy and take no time at all." The man then took her by the wrist and twisted it so that she would drop her jian. Cassandra immediately jumped in and knocked the man with her shield as he fell into a cabbage stock. "Gah...! If only you two weren't working together, this wouldn't be so difficult!"
As the fight went on, they nearly destroyed every stock in the grocery store as the old man covered his eyes as to not watch. Xianghua performed a high kick only to be caught by the ankle as the man spun her to the right, flinging her into a stock of coconuts. Cassandra charged on at the bandaged man but she stepped on a banana peel and slipped. The man stepped aside as Cassandra crashed into a vegetable stock.
Xianghua shook her head and saw that Cassandra was cornered with he man slowly approaching her. Xianghua panicked but then looked at the coconuts which have her an idea. Cassandra groaned as she regained her focus to see the man standing above her.
The man pointed his dagger at the Greek as he said "Now for the moment of truth! Any last words?"
Cassandra then smirked and said "Yeah, I have one. Coconut!"
"What?" The man was confused as to what she meant as he was hit on the head by Xianghua who snuck up from behind and knocked him out.
Xianghua pulled down a fist in victory. "Yes! I got him!" She then tossed the coconut aside and held a hand out to Cassandra saying "Need a hand?"
Cassandra was hesitant at first, but she decided to accept the help as she reached and was helped up. "Thanks."
Xianghua shrugged and said "It was nothing. That guy didn't know what was coming."
"No, I mean thank you for defending my sister. It was really sweet of you." Cassandra said stoking her own hair. Xianghua was surprised as she blushed in modesty. Cassandra then picked one of the ducks and gave it to Xianghua. "Here, you can have this."
Xianghua was taken aback of Cassandra's act of generosity. "W-Wait, don't you want it?"
Cassandra shrugged. "Nah, there are plenty of these roast ducks. Their about the same."
"Hey! That's what I said earlier!" Xianghua said annoyed.
Cassandra then winked at her and said "I know."
Xianghua looked at the duck and gently took it from Cassandra. "Um... Thanks."
"Yeah, yeah. Cut the mushy stuff." Said Cassandra.
The old man then approached the girls and asked "I beg your pardon? I hate to interrupt this little heartfelt moment, but what about my store?"
The Greek and Chinese looked around themselves seeing the damage they've caused. "Oh... Uh... Sorry about this. We'll help fix it!" Xianghua said.
"You can help fix it by looking for a job and work until you have the money to pay for it!"
Cassandra rolled her eyes as she said "Whatever. It's not like I've got better things to do."
The old man nodded as he walked away. Xianghua and Cassandra walked out of the store as the younger girl said "I better go and get this stuff to my friends and then find a job."
Cassandra then said "I think I'll just wait right here for you. I would like a job with you, considering we're both responsible."
Xianghua looked confused as to why she wanted than age the same job as her, but she decided to not ask as she said "Okay. I won't be long."
Xianghua walked away with her basket of groceries in hand leaving Cassandra behind, but then she ran back and kissed the blonde on the cheek. The Greek girl was very surprised as Xianghua turned away with eyes closed, head tilted to the side and fist up to her blushing smile.
"Despite the danger we got into, it was kind of fun fighting by your side." Xianghua admitted. "I'll be right back!"
Cassandra watched Xianghua walk away as she placed her fingers on where the Chinese girl kissed her and then smiled. "She is just too cute."
I know this chapter is pretty short, but I just wanted to update it to let you know that I don't want to slack off on my stories. I promise the next one will be a bit longer. Until then, hope you've enjoyed.
