Polar Opposite Attraction:

A/N: But I'll try to keep Mugino in character while she still has a soft side for Touma. I apologize for the late update though. I decided to keep the index arc canon and skip it because I couldn't possibly find a way to fit her in until a few hours after Touma had lost his memories. So here is Chapter 2. As for the title of this chapter, you'll understand as you read on through.

Chapter 2: A Certain Freeloader, and Deals

8 Hours after Touma's Memory Loss: Heaven Canceler's Hospital- Touma's Room

Mugino sat there at the side of Touma's bed watching the sleeping boy who was recovering from the injuries he has taken a few hours ago. But it wasn't the physical injures that she was worried about. It was what happened to his mind, more importantly, his memories that worried her the most. If what the frog-faced doctor said was true and his memories were wiped completely clean and now gone, Mugino could only fear on how terrifying and heart breaking it would cause her. After all, He was all she had left in this world. Well him, her family's fortune, and her pride, which she would gladly throw the last two in order to protect this boy. Hell, she would do anything to protect the teen boy known as Kamijou Touma.

Even after losing her parents to a tragic incident that somehow was linked to the Kamijou boy, he became all she ever cared about. She never did blame him once for the accident. She was, however, disgusted with the nickname he was known by as a child. It sickened her to this day on how everyone knew him as "Jinx". She sighed looking toward the sleeping form of the silver haired nun who was sitting in the chair on the other side of the bed. Whoever this girl was, Mugino didn't care, if this girl had hurt her Touma, she would pay. Her eyes narrowed as she glanced at the person who just walked into the room. It was Frenda.

"Who's this?" Frenda asked as she gazed at Touma. "Wait, isn't he the boy from the that picture you have in that locket of yours?"

"What you want Frenda?" Mugino asked with a glare. Frenda was a good friend, but Mugino didn't like it when people try to dig into her past and personal life and Frenda is no exception. Frenda arched a thin eyebrow as she noticed Mugino took Touma's right hand in hers.

"I just want to know who this boy is, that's all." Frenda said as she observed the sleeping teen boy. "I'd never expect you would be into an ordinary guy like this. What's so special about him anyway."

"Frenda." Mugino growled very dangerously. "I'll say this once and only once. This boy is my childhood friend and that's all you need to know. I will not bring up my past and that's final!"

"Okay, okay!" Frenda said raising her arms in defense so not to suffer the wrath of Mugino. "I'll stop pestering you okay." Frenda said as she slowly backed away from Mugino towards the door as Mugino stood up. A frown and sad expression was gracing Mugino's face.

"I'm going to go get a drink." Mugino said sadly while looking down at Touma and tracing his jaw line with her left hand, before she glared at Frenda. "Do NOT wake him up because if you do, There will be hell to pay." Mugino's dark aura and glowing red eyes had struck fear in Frenda's eyes. She sighed as she watched as Mugino's form exit the room. She then looked at the boy with a determined look. 'Time to get to work.' Frenda thought to herself as she pulled out her cell phone and grabbed the clipboard attached to the boy's bed. 'Kamijou Touma eh.'

Meanwhile with Mugino: Hospital Vending Machines

Mugino sighed as she grabbed the drink from the machine. She leaned her back against the wall. "Why... why does everything bad happen to Touma?" She asked no one in particular. "WHY IS IT HIM WHO ALWAYS HAS TO SUFFER? ANSWER ME DAMN IT!" She swore as she punched the wall.

"You must be Mugino Shizuri." A female voice said to Mugino's left. "Kamijou Touma's childhood friend right?" Mugino looked towards the woman who wearing a white T-shirt that was tied in a knot revealing her stomach and a pair of blue jeans with the left pant leg cut off. Mugino gave a narrow glance the purple haired woman's way. "You two have been friends ever since the age of 4 years old. You both arrived here at the age of 6 and have lived in Academy City for 10 years now."

Mugino glared at her. "And how exactly do you know this?"

"I have my sources." the woman said flatly. "I also know that his right hand is rather unusual to say the least. I can give you some information that might help you find a way to protect your friend, though there is one condition." Mugino raised her eyebrow.

"And what might that be?" Mugino asked curiously.

-Scene Break-

8:00A.M. Heaven Canceller's Hospital -Touma's Room:

The door to Kamijou Touma's hospital room burst open to reveal a more or less annoyed Mugino, which in the process, woke up a sleeping Frenda. Mugino had an annoyed look on her face. You see, what has her irritated is two things. The first thing was the condition made with the purple haired woman. The second thing that pissed her off was that silver haired nun did cause Touma's memory loss, which put Mugino on the brink of completely losing it. The only thing that was stopping her from blasting the nun into oblivion was the said condition and Touma. The only upside to all of this is that she know knew who the person who was pulling the strings causing Touma to have such bad luck and misfortune throughout his life and that she can help with Touma. Mugino sighed as she traced Touma's right arm with the index finger of her right hand. She looked at Frenda with a frown.

"Frenda." Mugino said with a sigh as she looked back down at Touma's sleeping form. "I want you to get me all the information on the General Superintendent and the Windowless Building ASAP!
