Summary: It was the little things she noticed, barbs reminding her she hadn't just left.

There were certain things she had come to expect. Despite her long incarceration in a prison the size of a universe, she would find things to be different, a subtle reminder that she had not simply left, she had been replaced.

There was the wrong sort of laundry powder in her bathroom. She never liked lime, smelling citrusy had always seemed to be too bubbly for her personality.

Her DVDs were out of order, the few books she enjoyed not where she left them. Some had systematically been separated into piles varying on relevance to her life. It hurt that what she treasured had simply been 'homework'.

She had replaced her toiletries altogether, unable to hide her disgust at the thought of her using her toothbrush and make-up.

The barbs that hurt the most were the ones reminding her that it was not simply the physical things that had been tainted. Two brands of cereal in her pantry, neither the type she liked. One she had never heard of, one was Sultana Bran, the type favoured by Peter
