Before we begin…
I would like to say that any feedback would be appreciated, I'm still a new writer so I need all the help I can get. That's it for this author's note and as stated before Fire Emblem belongs to Intelligent Systems and Etrian Odyssey is the property of Atlas.

Fire Emblem: Fated adventure
Chapter 2: The first hope filled step
As night began to fall in the city of Maginia Corrin and his new found allies made their way down its brightly lit streets. To Corrin this city gave both Windmire and Shirasagi a run for their money as the streets were filled with families and adventurers enjoying the evening. One venue caught his attention however, it was a shop tucked into the corner of a building. As Corrin stepped inside he was greeted with by a plethora of wares such as lanterns, maps, and various weapons.
"What's this…? An unfamiliar face? Let me guess your an explorer and by the looks of it your a little on the green side as well?" This caused Corrin to turn to the side where he saw a woman in a red kimono with shrewd green eyes and dark hair tied in a bun.
"Oh, I'm sorry i didn't see you when I walked in and yes I just started today." Corrin said.
"Is that so…? Well you've come to the right place, welcome to Napier's Firm. Here we provide the finest wares and equipment to the adventurers of Maginia, if they have the proper funds of course. My name is Napier, how can I help you tonight?" the woman said with a gleam in her eye.
"sorry, but I have to get back to my friends at the moment and I don't exactly have any money on me." he apologized causing Napier to deflate slightly.
"Oh well…, have a good night and please do consider doing business with us here in the future." She said as Corrin walked out the door.
"Tch, window shoppers…" Napier groaned.
oOoOoOoOoOoOo
"Hey, where did you run off to?" question Sam as Corrin caught up with them.
"I got sidetracked at some store called Napier's firm, sorry to keep you waiting. So, is this the place?" He asked.
"Yep, this is where we're going to be staying at." Stated Selina "come on let's check in already." And with that the party of six stepped inside to find a silver haired girl with a large cat on her head sleeping at the front desk. When the door closed behind them she spoke.
"We're closed todaaay…" she yawned only to have the cat sinked it's claws into her scalp.
"We're open! We're open! Uncle! Uncle!"
"Are you alright?" asked Corrin.
"Yes… he does that from time to time. My names Vivian and this is Mr. Merlin…" she said.
"excuse me Vivian but I believe we have rooms booked for the evening." Stated Dave curtly, not even caring that the poor girl was scratched. Not like she seemed to care as she yawned out her next words.
"oh okaaay, They're the two at the end of the hall." she said looking through the ledger. "Enjoy your stay at The Lady of The Lakeeee." She said as soon as she did she was out like a light. this caused everyone to give her a look of befuddlement before turning in for the night.
oOoOoOoOoOoOo
"Remind me again why we're going to a bar in the middle of the day?" Asked Corrin.
"Take heart my friend, for it is there that we shall hear the cries of the people and grant them their greatest desires!" Said Wallerd enthusiastically.
"What he means to say is that we're going to accept some requests from the patrons. This will help us get a gauge on your skills and line our pockets to boot!" Told Selina with a smile. "Plus the place serves some amazing hash in the morning!" she added.
When they walk in they're greeted by an old man in an apron with snow white hair, a goatee, and jovial blue eyes.
"Ah Clear Sky, good morning." He said before his eyes fell onto Corrin.
"Hmm, I see you have a new guild member as well. My names Kvasir and this is my Tavern, you can call me Kvasie if you want." He says offering Corrin a hand.
"It's nice to meet you Kvasie." He says, causing the rest of the group to collectively sigh.
"Dahahaha, you crack me up kid! So, by the look on your faces I take it your not here for my hash?" Kvasir said.
"Sorry, but we want to see where the new guy falls on the spectrum first. Do you have any requests?" Said Sam.
"Of course, Let's see…" he said while pulling out the request board.
"Ah, here we go. The city herdsmen need adventurers to keep watch over their animals. This should be a piece of cake for you since you get to stay close to the city." He states. When everyone signed the form to accept the request they set out to the grassy plains outside of of the flying metropolis.
OOoOoOoOoOoOo
After an hour of walking the group finally came upon a great herd of goats grazing the open fields.
"Are you the adventurers we asked for?" Asked a herdsman as he approached the group.
"Yeah, we're it." Said Sam causing the man to sigh in relief.
"Thank goodness…, one of the more ornery males got loose and wandered close to the forest. When we tried to get him back he booked it." The man said pointing to the north.
"Alright, we're on it!" said Selina pumping her fist.
"Why are you so excited? it's just a goat." questioned Mili which makes Selina shake her head.
"That's not it, I'm just excited because we finally get to see what Corrin's got!" She beamed.
"Yeah, your right. Go get em man." Said Sam as they patted him on the back. when they enter the first part of the tree line they heard the belt of a goat. when they arrived at the scene they found the goat perched on a high branch with two muscular koalas beating on the tree it was attached to.
"ALRIGHT, CEASE AT ONCE YOU MARSUPIAL MISCREANTS!" Roared Wallerd as he banged his shield with his sword, causing the koalas to rush him.
"NOW!" Shouted Selina as she impaled one. This riled up the second resulting in it throwing a haymaker at her. Before the hit could connect however Corrin leapt over the two and sliced the red monster down the back with the Yato, killing it instantly.
"That was some nice foot work! Thanks for the save by the way." Selina beamed.
"of course, any time." He said.
"Alright you two that's enough flirting, let's see to getting this guy down." Said Sam as they pulled some animal feed from their pouch. They held it out toward the goat who jumps down with ease and began to eat.
"Ok pal let's get you back to the others." Sam said putting a lead around its neck and walking back south.
oOoOoOoOoOoOo
"Great! You're back, did you find him?" The herdsman asked noon set in.
"Yeah, we gave him to one of your other guys when we got back. He got stuck in a tree by two monsters but we got there in the nick of time." Selina stated.
"Oh, what a relief. I've cared for the guy since he was born, he's almost like a son to me. Thank you, Kvasir should have the reward from us. Take care." He said as he walked away.
"Ok! mission complete, let's go home." Sam said. As they walked back to the city limits however Corrin saw a young girl with a worried look on her face heading towards the Forest. Seeing as the rest of the guild was leaving however he decided to catch up and leave her be.
oOoOoOoOoOoOo
"Hay your back, how'd he do?" Asked Kvasir with a smile.
"Pretty good for a guy with no shoes. Handles a sword well in a reverse grip, almost like one of those ninjas from Armoroad." Sam said causing Corrin to perk up.
"Wait they have ninjas? I thought they only came from-"
"The east? Yeah, it's weird. Apparently there's a clan of sorts there." Said Selina cutting him off.
"Oh…"
"What's with that? You look a bit down..." she asked making Corrin to shake his head.
"It's nothing, I'm fine." he said going back to normal.
"Ok, Your the boss. Say why don't we have ourselves a drink, to toast your first success as an adventurer!" She beamed.
"You know what, sure." He Smiled back.
"Sweet! Oh Kvasie! Can we get six rounds on the house?" Selina called eliciting a laugh out of the man before he went behind the bar and back to the table with seven mugs.
"Why are there seven?" mili asked.
"Because I wanted to pour one out for the boy. He's made my day that's for sure!" he stated.
"Won't that get in the floorboards?" she said.
"Not if I pour it down my throat! Dahaha!" He bellows getting a chuckle out of the others.
"Anyway, cheers to the Corrin's first outing!" Selina shouted.
"Cheers!"

Back at the inn Corrin finds himself alone in his room. stepping outside he finds Mili sittsitting on a couch near a coffee table reading a book.
"Hello Mili, what is it that you're reading?" Corrin asked.
"Oh…, hello Corrin. This is a book that discusses the different types of celestial bodies in the sky. The section I was on covered the Zodiac signs and their meanings." She said. this caught Corrin's attention as the night sky was different in this world was different from his old one.
"what's a Zodiac?" Corrin asked.
" a Zodiac is a set of stars arranged in a certain way. Depending on when you were born the sign can influence what type of person you are."
"That's amazing! Can you tell me what Zodiac I align with?" Corrin asked.
" when were you born then?"
"On the first of January."
" alright let's see…, ah. Here it is, you're a Capricorn." She stated.
"A Capricorn? What's that?" He asked.
" A Capricorn is a sea goat god that symbolizes ambition and loneliness, resulting in those born under it to be more goal oriented but less socially adapt."
"Hmm, ambitious and lonely... I don't feel like that's accurate about me but it does remind me of someone." He said feeling homesick.
"That's fine, the Zodiacs are only a small part of people's lives and only serve as a foundation to their greater personality." She stated while looking down at the book.
"You sure are well versed in the workings of the stars. Well, good night mili." Corrin said before heading back to his room.
"Good night..." she replied before diving into the book once again.
