The scene was comical to anyone watching. A pink haired girl was dragging a boy that easily had six inches and fifty pounds more on him with no effort at all. For Reno though, the situation was anything but. This girl, Benitsubasa—or something like that—was insanely strong, especially for a girl her size. No matter how he struggled, he couldn't break free.
"Quit squirming, will you?" The pink-haired girl turned to snap at him.
"Yeah, well, as fun as it is to be dragged around like this, I just want to go home," her victim snapped back.
"And I would just love for you to go there, but the Director wants to see you." She shook her head. "Why he would want someone like you is beyond me."
Reno shook his head. Yet another person trying to squash him down. This was the last thing he wanted to go through, and to make it worse, it was coming from a spoiled little nuisance. Really not how he wanted to spend his day. However, there was really not much he could do. Super strong and super crazy wasn't letting go any time soon, so he just finally stopped struggling.
"Look," Reno said with a sigh. "Can you at least allow me to keep the little dignity I have and let me walk?"
Benitsubasa eyed the scarred teen. "Why? So you can run off?" she asked. Reno shook his head.
"Run to where?" he retorted, suppressing his anger. "You leapt out of the damn sky. I doubt I could get far."
Benitsubasa considered his words and finally let him go. Reno dusted off the part of his shirt that she was gripping and walked beside her, keeping quiet. She didn't seem like she wanted to talk to him anyway, although he caught her stealing glances—and glares—at him.
After about ten minutes of them walking, Benitsubasa stopped in front of the biggest building in the whole of Japan. Reno shook his head at the sight of it.
"MBI?" he asked. "What the hell have I gotten wrapped up in?"
Benitsubasa walked to the entrance, so Reno followed, not really sure what would happen next. The pink-haired girl slipped into an elevator that some nerds in lab coats had walked out of, so Reno got in as well. With one hit of the 101 button, the doors shut and the elevator rose up silently. The two stood there in silence as their elevator crept up the building. As Reno watched the number slowly rise, he realized something.
"So, what's your name?" Reno asked. "Might as well know the name of my kidnapper." Benitsubasa threw him a dirty look.
"Isn't it proper etiquette to give your name before asking for another's?" she shot defiantly.
"Isn't it proper etiquette not to abduct people off the streets?" Reno countered. Benitsubasa growled lightly, but had to admit the one before her had a point.
"Benitsubasa," she told him, a light flush appearing on her face as crossed her arms and glared. "There, I told you my name. What's yours?"
"Reno," the abductee said with a small amount of surprise in his voice. One thing that suddenly hit him was that this girl was actually kind of cute. Yeah, her attitude and her kidnapping him really put a damper on it, but her attempt to intimidate him was actually kinda adorable.
The rest of the ride up was rather quiet as the elevator crept along, but Reno did notice something strange. Benitsubasa had begun to look weak in the knees, and her face was turning a bright red. Her breathing was quick and sharp, like she had just ran a marathon.
"Hey… Are you alright?" Reno asked. At that very moment, the elevator doors had opened, and Benitsubasa ran out at a speed he had seen only a few humans achieve. He just stood there, like an idiot.
Standing at the elevator entrance were two women, obviously waiting for him. That felt odd to him. Usually women didn't stick around when he showed up.
One of them was slender, wearing a dark and tattered kimono on top of her bandage covered body. Her eyes were narrowed and colored a dark blue. Her hair was strangely gray, almost silver, and a mess of tangles and spikes. For some reason she reminded him of a cat, and the leather collar around her neck didn't help that. She seemed dark and gothic, but he could see a playfulness and a small amount of kindness in her eyes. Overall, she seemed nicer—and much more sane—than his kidnapper. He might have actually made friends with her.
The other wore a tight leather top that showed off her figure nicely. If Reno was a pervert, he might have stared. Her lower half was barely kept decent by a black miniskirt and black stockings. Over her shoulders was a grey haori with some sort of symbol printed on the shoulders. Her silvery hair was tied into a ponytail, and her grey eyes were narrow as well. He could see she was carrying a sword weapon of some sort. It was probably a nodachi or just an oversized katana, but he wasn't an expert on weapons. This woman seemed to just emit a killing intent, and she just looked insane. One look at her just had him missing Benitsubasa.
"So, you're the one, huh?" the cat-like girl suddenly said, jolting Reno out from his thoughts. She looked over at him and a small playful grin came on her face. "I don't see why Washboard was complaining. You're not so bad." Reno had to suppress the urge to give her a thumb's up like Otto would and instead just chuckled at her nickname for the pink-haired girl.
"He'll do," the creepy one said. Her voice just sent shivers down Reno's spine, although it wasn't as bad as Otto's landlady.
"Come on, the Director wants to see you." The two walked away, so Reno followed them. They led him into a large office that had a large desk and a large black leather chair with its back to him. In another word, this place was huge. He was 'offered' a seat, which actually meant that the crazy girl grabbed his shoulder and forced him into one.
The chair in front of him spun around to reveal a flamboyant man with silver hair and glasses.
"Welcome, Reno Hikari!" the man shouted.
"Hold up," Reno interrupted after rubbing his ear. "Who are you, and how do you know my name?"
The man smiled widely.
"I am Minaka Hiroto—" he began, but Reno interrupted.
"CEO of MBI, got it," he said. Minaka frowned.
"You're quite a rude little one, aren't you?"
"I don't want to hear about rude from people that abduct me off the street!" Reno raised his voice slightly. Minaka had no reaction to it, though.
"Perhaps this will cheer you up!" Minaka said, still way too loud for Reno. "I am offering you a special position in the Sekirei Plan!"
Reno cocked an eyebrow. "Let's pretend I have no idea what that is." He knew this wouldn't be good.
"The Sekirei Plan! The name of the game in which you are fortunate enough to become a participant in. The rules are simple. There are 108 Sekirei. These Sekirei fight with other Sekirei after being paired with another person, their 'Ashikabi'. These Sekirei fight and fight and FIGHT until only one Sekirei-Ashikabi pair remains. That lucky pair will be allowed to 'ascend' and the winning Ashikabi will hold the fate of the world in his hands!"
"Few questions," Reno piped up after listening to the speech he was sure this guy rehearsed in front of a mirror every day. "I'm assuming these three—" he pointed to the girls around him, "-are Sekirei. But what exactly is a Sekirei, and what the hell is an Ashikabi?"
"Well, for now, let's just say Sekirei are very gifted individuals," the silver haired CEO cryptically answered. "As for an Ashikabi, they are people that can bond with Sekirei through an exchange of DNA, mostly done by a kiss, although some… Other ways are acceptable as well." The scarred teen knew what the CEO was getting at and had to shake his head to rid himself of the bad thoughts.
"Okay, so what's this special job you want me to do?" Ren hastily asked, trying to keep the dirty thoughts away.
"Simple. You will watch over these three." He motioned to the girls. "Keep them out of trouble, and keep them focused on the job when they have one," Minaka explained.
"You mean Pinky dragged me out of the streets so you can ask me to babysit…?" Reno wasn't about to show it, but he was pissed! His day hadn't exactly been stellar, and with the fact one of these girls was being a total bitch, and he was harassed and dragged halfway to the freaking building, babysitting was the last thing he wanted to do for this annoying pissant! Granted, the one who liked to act like a cat seemed nice enough… but all three was way too much of a package. He just wanted to go home. Was that seriously too much to ask?!
The cat-like girl let out a chuckle. Minaka nodded.
"Pretty much, yes." Apparently it was too much to ask. Reno cupped his chin, doing his best to keep from scowling.
"What are the perks of this job?" he asked.
"What, watching three beautiful women isn't enough of a perk?" the cat-like girl asked playfully.
"Haihane…" Minaka shook his head.
"Ugh, it's almost as if you want this guy to be our Ashikabi!" Benitsubasa suddenly yelled.
"I'd rather be with this guy than a gay man," Haihane stated plainly.
"Natsuo is not gay!" the pink-haired Sekirei yelled back at the top of her lungs, causing all in the room to cringe. Damn, she had a set of lungs.
"Whatever you say," Haihane muttered. "Just be happy you're reacting to this guy. Right now, I wish I was."
"I am NOT reacting!" Benitsubasa said as a giant blush appeared on her face.
"Anyways…" Haihane turned her attention back to Reno.
"Beautiful women alone don't pay the bills," Reno finally replied.
"Of course, there is more," Minaka said. "You will be paid handsomely and live in this tower. I assure you any room in this building is a thousand times better than that dingy apartment you live in."
"Okay, now you know where I live? You're getting more than creepy now," Reno quipped. "Excuse my asking yet another question, but what exactly is 'reacting'?"
"Reacting is when a Sekirei finds his or her, mostly her, destined one," the crazy one explained, looking bored. "There is only one person a Sekirei will react to, and that will never change." She shot Benitsubasa a look. "So why don't you just let him wing you and ride him like the lowly animal he is?"
"Thank you, Karasuba," Minaka said simply, not acknowledging her final statement. Benitsubasa's face turned an atomic red and Reno leveled a glare at Karasuba, although a small blush was on his face as well.
"Ya know, the 'lowly animal' would appreciate it if you don't talk about him like he's not in the room," Reno stated. Karasuba just shrugged, obviously not caring. "Ok, now I have to ask, what the hell is 'winging?"
Minaka chuckled. Boy, this kid could ask questions. "Winging is only their term for the bond, little Reno."
"Ooookay then…" Reno decided to move on. "What happens if I say no? I have a feeling this is highly confidential stuff."
Minaka smiled widely. "Well, if you were to be so foolish as to say no to my generous offer, then we would have to send people to… Keep an eye on you. And if you were to reveal anything to anyone, we'd have to use MBI's vast arsenal to… silence you…"
Reno nervously chuckled as he thought of the private army MBI had. He always wondered why they had one, and now he knew.
"A bit overkill, ain't it?" he asked.
"This is ushering a new age of the gods!" Minaka stood up and thrust his hands to the heavens. "There is nothing that is overkill!"
Reno sweatdropped. "You're batshit insane…" he muttered to himself.
"So, what is your answer?" the silver-haired maniac looked at Reno expectantly.
"Well, you have to give me some time," Reno said. "This is a huge life-altering decision that should be thought over carefully, and my answer is no."
"I'm sorry, what?" Minaka said in a rare moment of shock.
"Okay, you need more ways of saying it? No, never, not in a million years, absolutely not, no way Jose, no chance Lance, nein, negatory, nuh uh, nope, hell no, and my personal favorite, FUCK no!"
"What a list," Haihane commented. The CEO was still in shock that someone had told him no so easily, especially after being offered power, wealth, and women! Only one question came to his mind.
"Why?" he asked.
"Well," Reno said. "Pinky seems to hate my guts and is moody. Don't wanna put up with that." He then jabbed a thumb at the crazy Sekirei. "Karasuba obviously doesn't like me and is almost as batshit insane as you. Almost." He finally pointed at Haihane. "And her… well, I actually like her. But obviously, I'm not her 'destined one' or whatever, and I don't want to take that chance from her." He then stood up. "You have my answer. So, good day, and screw you." With that, Reno turned and walked to the elevator, leaving the accursed building.
Raiiki walked down the crowded streets, looking around, feeling lost in the big city, despite the fact he knew his way home like the back of his hand. He always felt somewhat invisible, even though running away from human contact probably didn't help.
He decided to cut through the park on his way. It would take longer, but it was a nice day out, and as Otto told him, he needed the exercise. As he took a right turn into a path that cut through the trees, he couldn't help but feel that someone was watching him, an unpleasant feeling to have. He turned to look behind him, but no one was there. When he turned to look forward again, however, he received a fright, since a man was suddenly standing there.
The man in question was tall, with messy silver hair and grey eyes. He wore black pants and a long sleeved shirt of the same color, with a sword attached to his back. The shirt was opened, showing off his chest and stomach, but straps formed a big X that covered some of it. He had a belt that was slightly askew, the left being higher than the right. On his hands were black fingerless gloves and on his neck was an orange scarf. To Raiiki, he looked like an awesome anime hero come to life.
"Um…" Raiiki didn't really know what to say at this point.
"I need to speak to you," the silver-haired man said bluntly.
"Um… O-Okay… About wha—" Raiiki was interrupted by the man gently pressing on the teen's forehead, pushing him back. The man then turned sideways to avoid two lightning bolts that streaked past them.
Raiiki turned to see two scantily dressed twins standing before him, lightning crackling in their hands. One was taller and more… gifted in certain areas… Then her sister though. He could instantly feel his blood run cold and hot at the same time, his face turning pale while his cheeks lit up out of reflex. The looks on their faces was clear they had some negative intentions for him, and their slutty outfits weren't exactly helping. For all he knew, they were superpowered dominatrixes! And with lightning…! He didn't wanna think about what those two were capable of!
"Looks like we have a new victim…" the taller of the two started to say, but had to stop and look in awe as the boy disappeared from sight within seconds. The boy let loose a bloodcurdling scream as he bolted away, his arms and legs kicking into high gear. He didn't care what they were going to say next, he was nobody's victim!
"Impressive for a human," the silver-haired man commented.
Raiiki stopped running after a few minutes. He leaned against a tree and panted, his body shaking from the aftershock of the high exertion. Well, he was getting that stupid exercise Otto was nagging about. He looked down the path he ran. Thankfully, the girls didn't follow him, but he did accidentally leave the man behind. What did he want anyway before those girls showed up?! He shuddered. He didn't want to think about what that lightning meant… What if they were gloves made to paralyze him?!
He turned back around only to see the silver haired man in front of him again. He recoiled from the shock of it all. After recovering, he took a deep breath.
"So… what did you want?" he asked.
"It's a lot to explain," the silver haired man said. "I'll start with names. Mine is Mutsu."
"I'm Raiiki…" the teen replied. Mutsu nodded, committing the name to his memory. He was about to say more when two lightning bolts flew over their heads. Raiiki saw frustration build in Mutsu's eyes, but his face betrayed nothing. The two turned to see the twins again, both of them looking agitated. Raiiki gulped visibly, inching behind Mutsu. While the girls weren't exactly glaring at him, he could feel their ire washing over him like ice water. Women were scary enough, but an angry woman… He was outta here!
"How dare you just run off like that!?" the taller of the two demanded. "Are you that much of a coward?!" She barely got the words out before she realized the human was gone again, a trail of dust being the only proof he was ever there.
Mutsu sighed and turned to the two. "You're starting to become annoying," he said simply.
"It's nothing personal," the shorter one said. "We're just thinning out the competition beforehand. Number twelve, Hibiki," she stated as she gathered electricity.
"Number eleven, Hikari," the taller one supplied as she did the same as her twin.
"Number five, Mutsu," the silver-haired man said as he took his still sheathed sword and held it in front of him. The two twins suddenly froze in fear. A single-numbered Sekirei? There were supposed to be insanely powerful. Now the two wanted nothing more than to follow the boy's example and run away, but they invoked the wrath of a sleeping giant and had to face it. It wasn't like they could outrun him anyway.
Raiiki stopped running, hands on his knees and panting. Stupid Otto. What did that guy know about exercise?! This hurt! He looked around, making sure he wasn't being followed, seeing small flashes of lightning off in the distance. Were… were those three all battling each other? His eyes widened considerably. 'Wait. Those girls are shooting lightning?! Like, a video game character?!' Raiiki was officially freaked out. Flashes of several comics featuring mutants went through the forefront of his mind. What if those two were part of some government experiment?! His parents did say they were working on something interesting…
A sharp shudder ran through his veins, and he sent out a mental prayer for the anime-guy… 'Mutsu. Right, Mutsu… Wait, huh?'
As he turned back, something at his right caught his attention. His eyes widened in complete surprise, not expecting the sight before him. A woman sat on a bench, curled up under a bloodied lab coat. Other than that, she wasn't wearing a thing, much to his horror and embarrassment. Why was she only dressed in a lab coat? Why was there blood?!
He couldn't tell what color her eyes were, since they were closed, but he could see her barely shoulder length brown hair. There seemed to be a mark on her head, but he couldn't tell what it was. Forcing down a gulp, he made to take a step, when he recoiled. What was he doing?! He didn't know how to talk to girls! Even if they were sleeping! Or worse, what if she was sulking and didn't want to talk to anyone? She could probably really hurt him for just saying 'hi!' But still… she was curled up in a way that seemed like she was hiding… Or worse, she was in pain and needed help!
Shaking his head, Raiiki took a step. Being afraid wasn't going to help. 'Okay, Rai. Think. What have your parents always said? Prepare for the worst, hope for the best?' Letting that be his mantra, he slowly stepped forward. He almost reached the girl when an explosion in the distance caught his attention. He looked over it and back to the woman. He had to assume those lightning twins were going to attack everyone. He had to go get help! The police! But then, would they believe him that two girls were throwing lightning at a swordsman? Even he didn't believe it, and he'd seen it crackling around their hands! That wasn't just something you could forget… Plus this poor girl—at least, he hoped she was distressed and not just brooding—was going to be by herself while he was gone!? 'What should I do…?!' he whined mentally.
What he didn't know was that the twins were regretting every second of their choice of victim. No matter what they did, no matter how much lightning they fired, Mutsu dodged and closed the gap around them with ease. The two were panicking when Mutsu got near and swung his sword in a wide arc. The blade stopped mere inches from Hibiki's neck.
"Leave. Now." Mutsu said it simply, but they could feel the power behind his words. They nodded and ran off as fast as they could. Mutsu watched them leave before turning in the direction Raiiki ran off to. Did all Sekirei go through this? On that point, did Sekirei react to someone of the same gender? He knew he was unusual, being a male Sekirei, but it was still strange that he was reacting to a boy. He walked down the path, placing his sword away. In no time, he caught up to the one he reacted to.
The boy seemed nervous for some reason. Looking around, Mutsu deduced it must have been the Sekirei in the lab coat. Judging by the mark on her forehead, she was a scrapped number, meaning she couldn't be winged. Raiiki approached her slowly, almost like he was afraid she would suddenly attack him. She, however, didn't even act like she noticed him.
"Um… e-exc-cuse me," he said in a soft voice. The woman's head jerked up, obviously unaware he was even there. Raiiki took a step back, unsure of what she would do. He shuddered as her gaze started studying him. 'Great… She's probably looking for my weak spots… I'm so dead!' She just silently watched him, observing him curiously. When she saw his brown eyes, her blue ones found that they couldn't look away. Usually when people looked at her, their eyes were hard and cold like steel. His, however, felt warm and… human. She could feel a slight tugging at her chest which vanished quickly. Raiiki felt his body relax slightly. She was being rather silent, and her face wasn't showing any anger… Maybe this was good… "Um… do you n-need help?" Raiiki asked. As soon as the question left his mouth, he mentally facepalmed. She was sitting on a bench with nothing but a bloodied lab coat; of course she needed help! This was why he didn't talk to women. "Uh… Scratch that… What happened?" He facepalmed again, this time for real. She could have been seriously hurt or raped, and he asked her to recall it! He was seriously a jerk right now…
The woman watched the teen as he stumbled over himself. He seemed so warm and kind, so much so, she felt drawn to him. She knew it wasn't a proper reaction though, and once he knew, he would want nothing to do with her. It would be best to get it over with now.
"I am broken… A failure," she said as she hugged her legs. Raiiki felt his face drop. That was probably why he wasn't having as much trouble talking to her. Still trouble, but…
"You, too, huh?" he frowned, unaware of Mutsu's disappointed look. Almost all of his nerves left him as he almost collapsed on the bench, looking balefully at the sky. "Trust me; I'm in that boat too. I see a failure every time I look into the mirror… But… I-I have to say… um… unlike me, you're really p-pretty… You… you don't look like a failure… at least to me." The young teen felt bad for this poor girl. She was evidently a kindred spirit, lacking most of her confidence in just about anything. Though she had a lab coat on, so perhaps she worked somewhere in a lab…? Better pay than him, anyway. Still, that meant next to nothing for her personal life. The woman looked at him strangely. Most people would have left when she said she was broken, but this one tried to… comfort her? It was such a foreign thing to her.
Raiiki suddenly had another mental facepalm moment. He got so caught up trying to cheer her up, he totally forgot to ask for her name! He was such an idiot!
"Is something wrong?" the depressed woman asked. Raiiki shook his head.
"Oh, no no!" he tried to assure her. "I just realized in my little whine fest I forgot to ask for your name. I'm Raiiki. And you are…?"
The woman looked at him for a few seconds before replying. "I am Akitsu."
"It's, um nice to meet you… Akitsu," Raiiki said, managing a shaky grin. He took a breath as he felt the awkward air pass over them. Akitsu kept looking at him, almost like she was trying to decipher a foreign language. The boy tugged nervously at the collar of his shirt until he realized someone was close by. He turned around, his eyes widening at the figure just down the road, looking at them. His eyes widened in shock; it was Mutsu! And he didn't have a scratch on him!
"There you are," he spoke. "Good to see you are unharmed."
"Oh, Mutsu… What happened to those girls…? Th-they aren't nearby, are they?" Raiiki said.
"No. They ran off," was Mutsu's simple reply. It was true, and now was not the best time to start talking about Sekirei.
Raiiki sighed in relief and turned to Akitsu. "Do you need us to take you home?"
Akitsu looked to him. "I have no place to stay…"
Raiiki's heart dropped as he heard her answer. Okay, she did have it worse than he did. An idea came to him though. It was crazy, it was stupid, and he would never normally ask a girl this, but she really needed it, and honestly, for some reason… He knew it was the right thing to do.
"Do you… Wanna stay with me for a few days?"
Akitsu's expression turned shocked. He was offering his place to her? Did this mean… he wanted her? Was this person… her Ashikabi?
"Yes… I will go with you… Master…" she said. Raiiki had missed the title she had given him, since he turned to Mutsu.
"Hey, um… I know you wanted to talk and all, but…"
"No," Mutsu interrupted. "Allow me to help you get her to your home, then we can talk." Mutsu now realized why he was reacting to this boy. He was a kind soul, but too innocent for his own good. Without any guidance, he could possibly get seriously hurt or killed in this game. Mutsu stood at one side, using his body to support Akitsu. Raiiki stood at the other side, also supporting her. After making sure she was stable, the group headed off.
Did they know they looked strange at this moment? Of course. Did they care? No.
Otto finished unpacking his clothes in his room. Well, it was small, but he supposed all he was really doing here was sleeping… So it was good enough. There was a nice futon for him to sleep on, and enough room for the TV he managed to smuggle in, so he was content. He stretched and headed for the door. At least he should visit his… housemates? Roommates? Whatever. He was going to visit them at least!
He walked down to the room next to his and knocked. He folded his arms as he waited for the person to come out.
"Coming!" A distinctly feminine voice called out. Otto's interest peaked at this melodious voice.
He waited for the door to open, and received a shock. The woman in question was very beautiful if nothing else, her enchanting smile and unique hair style giving her a special charm. She was generously curved and topped by a huge bust line, her size the biggest he ever saw. However there was something that was absolutely stunning about her, something that Otto couldn't comprehend with his male mind. It was the fact that she came to the door dressed only in a pair of panties and nothing else. His face heated up and he looked up, the ceiling suddenly becoming the most interesting thing he ever saw.
"Um... Yo, I'm... Your new neighbor... Roommate... Thingy... I'm Otto!" he managed to say.
"I'm Uzume," the woman said with a playful and slightly seductive grin.
"Yeah... So... Okay, I'll just say it now. I can't focus with your tits in my face... Please put on your clothes... Please?" Otto nearly pleaded. Honestly, he could stare at that body all day, but fear of his landlord overpowered his boner.
"What, can't withstand my womanly charms?" she asked as she struck a sexy pos, just to tease him. The American shook his head.
"The day a guy could withstand THAT is the day humanity evolves out of sex. No, I'm terrified of the landlord." Uzume nodded knowingly.
"Yeah, she's handy with a frying pan," she noted. "Fine, I'll get clothes, but you better catch Kagari before he goes to work." The blond American turned to leave, and Uzume caught herself staring at his rear with some heat building up inside her. Was she...? No, no way.
Otto stood in front of the door of the only other occupant of this Inn... So he was told, but he had a nagging doubt about that.
"Please for the love of God let this not go like last time," he said to himself as he knocked. The door opened and a man stood before him, light silver hair shimmering as calm eyes regarded him with a curious look. The man was dressed head to toe in a black outfit, a long sleeved shirt with dark slacks maintaining an image of dignity and above all, immaculate social grace. And how did the American greet such a perfect example of dignity? "Yo, what's up? I'm Otto, a new..." he stumbled over his Japanese a moment, "tenant here."
The man chuckled. It seemed he wasn't bothered by the other's casualness. "And I am Kagari," he responded, holding out a hand to shake.
Otto took the hand and shook it. "Dear God, I am so glad you're a dude. I thought I was gonna be surrounded by a bunch of girls that I could only stare at and be terrified of..." he shuddered slightly. He sounded like Raiiki right then.
"So you met Uzume already," Kagari chuckled. "Don't worry; she'll be fully clothed at dinner. Miya would kill her on the spot otherwise."
"The fact you correctly assumed I met Uzume in the nude somewhat worries me," Otto plainly stated.
The silver haired man nodded. "Well, at least that means you have some decency."
"And healthy fear of the landlord," Otto admitted. The man of dignity nodded in agreement.
"Don't we all?" He asked rhetorically. "Anyway, I have to make a few calls real quick, so if you don't mind, I must depart," he said politely. Otto nodded and backed away as Kagari shut the door. As soon as he was met with silence, the American was left with nothing but his thoughts, and the fear and excitement of settling in were winding down, allowing him to appreciate the jet lag he'd been ignoring since he landed. With a yawn he was sure Kagari heard through the wall, he shuffled back to his room, closing the door behind him.
"What… a freaking… day…" he threw himself onto his bed, not bothering to remove his clothing or get under the covers. He didn't care that it was going to be dinner later, nor did he care that he hadn't watched his shows at all yet; he just wanted to take a nap! He gave into the comfort that was the futon's material, snoring away in a matter of minutes.
Reno sighed as he took out his key to unlock his door. His apartment wasn't too big, seeing as only one person lived there, but at the same time, it was a little bigger than what most single guys lived in. Construction paid well. He slipped off his shoes in the corner and went to go to his bedroom. His punching bag was there, and he really needed to vent after this strange and stressful day. Before the scarred teen could make it to the bedroom, there was a knock on the door. Reno sighed, but tried not to get too mad. It was probably his landlord's daughter, and she was nice enough. Why she kept visiting a guy like him didn't make sense to him though. He opened the door, only to be met by Benitsubasa. That was the final straw, he had enough!
Before he could let her have it though, she grabbed him by the collar and pulled him close to her face, it as bright red as a tomato.
"I'm only doing this because I was ordered to, not because I like you!" she told him. Whether she was trying to convince him or herself was a mystery. Reno was about to speak again when she pressed her lips against his.
The boy was a brewing pot of surprise, pleasure, and straight up anger. His first kiss, and it was taken by an angry little pink haired midget! However, all those emotions melted away into shock when a pair of bright pink wings seemingly made of lights sprouted from her back. He supposed that's why they called it winging. The light died down and Benitsubasa backed away to look at Reno. Her face was an impossibly bright shade of red, and he was sure his was to. Only two words could come to his mind after this experience on top of this day.
"Awwww Fuuuuuck."
