Summary: Bonnie and Damon have been together six months after Klaus left town. Now, he comes back to Mystic Falls and in an attempt to revenge, he compels Bonnie to forget everything about Damon. Will love be stronger than compulsion?

"Bonnie!" Damon yelled searching for any trace of her. He has been searching for her like 10 minutes already. Ten fucking minutes and still… nothing. Nothing of her, not even her smell.
"Where the hell are you, Bonnie?" Damon asked himself resting his head in a tree.
She was running, like hell running. She was scared.
What did just happen? Bonnie thought. She can't remember why she was unconscious in the woods. And what about that man claiming to know her.
Something really strange was happening. But she didn't want to know it until she knew she was safe. Far from the woods and far from that man.
What was his name? Dean? Damien? She couldn't remember.
She kept running everywhere until she saw the road. There was a car parked close to where she was standing.
She walked close to the car hoping to find someone. But there was no one. Although something called her attention.
"Is that my purse? And my jacket?" she said to herself looking inside the car. She tried to open it and luckily for herself, it opened. She took the purse and looked inside seeing her stuff. Her ID, her cell phone and other personal stuff. Why were her stuffs in there? Why she couldn't remember?
"Bonnie!" she heard her name being called. It was the voice of that man.
She quickly sat in the driver seat and look for the keys. They were put. As fast as she could she turned on the car and drive away.
"Elena!" Bonnie yelled while she knocked on her door.
"Oh, Bonnie… Hey!" Elena said opening the door smiling.
"Elena!" Bonnie yelled hugging her. Elena hugged her back worried.
"What happened?" she said as they pulled away.
"Something happened. I don't know why, but I can't remember anything"
"Anything?"
"I mean. I remember everything but something is missing. I woke up today in the woods" Bonnie exclaimed. Elena looked at her more worried than before.
"In the woods? Like that time when Emily haunted you?"
"Yes and not. Yes, because it was the same thing; but no, because I just recently woke up, well no now, but like 30 minutes ago and I can't remember why I was there, because I know I didn't woke up like really, really there because I remember what I did today in the morning but then everything else is blurred. It's missing. I can't remember and I'm just freaked out" Bonnie said walking inside and sitting in the couch covering her face with her hands.
"Is everything ok?" a male voice said from behind Bonnie. She retired her hands of her face and looked back.
It was… Stefan. He was the brother of my… He was Elena's boyfriend.
And suddenly a lot of flashbacks crossed her mind.
Elena and Caroline were my best friends and Stefan was Elena's boyfriend. Elena is the doppelganger of Katherine. I dated Jeremy but he cheated on me with... Anna. She was a vampire, and so was Stefan. Stefan dated Katherine in 1864, just like... He dated her. Just him.
"Stefan" she said standing up and walking towards him.
"Are you ok? " Stefan asked looking at his girlfriend and friend.
"Bonnie is having some kind of block with her mind. She doesn't know why but she can't remember some stuff, like what she did this afternoon" Elena told Stefan.
"Does my brother know this? Where is he?" Stefan asked Bonnie. She raised an eyebrow at him.
"Your brother?" she asked.
"Yes. He said he was meeting you today"
"I don't know what you're talking about Stefan. You have a brother? Why you didn't tell me?"
"Bonnie, what the h…"
"Stefan!" Damon said running inside the house. "You are not going to believe this but…" he stopped once he saw Bonnie.
In the same instant that Bonnie saw him, she back off behind Stefan.
"What are you doing here?" Bonnie yelled horrified.
"Bonnie, why are you acting like this?" Elena asked walking towards her friend taking her by the arm.
"This man. He did something to me!" Bonnie yelled pointing to Damon feeling how tears approached her eyes.
"What?" Stefan and Elena said at the same time. What the hell was happening with Bonnie?
"Bonnie. Look at me. You know it wasn't me, deep inside of you, you know it. It was Klaus!" Damon said trying to get close to her but she, same as in the woods, kept stepping back.
"What?" Stefan and Elena said again at the same time.
"OK, can someone please tell me what the hell is going on?" Elena exclaimed crossing her arms with a confused look in her face. But not as confused as Stefan's.
"Later" Damon said looking from Elena to Bonnie "please Bonnie, do not act like this"
"Stay away from me!" she yelled at Damon feeling kind of dizzy.
"Bonnie, are you ok?" she heard Elena asking her.
But she was concentrated in that man. There was something about him… something that… she tried to remember, she really tried but suddenly a horrible and painful headache came to her making her body begin to shake and get cold. She heard her name being called before everything turned black for her.
"Bonnie" Damon caught her at time.
"Oh my god" Elena said covering her mouth with teary eyes. "What's happening to her?"
"Let's go to the boarding house" Damon said walking to the door feeling a couple of eyes on him. He stopped looking back, "I'll explain you there what happened"
Stefan and Elena nodded walking behind Damon.
"I'm gonna call Caroline" Stefan said.
Damon placed Bonnie in his bed being careful to not wake her up.
He wanted to scream like he never did before. Klaus. It was his entire fault. He was going to hunt down that son of a bitch and kill him.
But then he saw Bonnie fainted in his bed and he realized that once she wakes up, she's not gonna remember him. She was going to be scared of him. And that killed him.
He realized that he needed to enjoy this moment before she wakes up.
Carefully, he places her tiny body beside him in the bed.
He stroked her cheek moving a pair of hair behind her ear.
She was so beautiful. She is beautiful.
He couldn't take the fact that she did no longer love him, no longer know him, and no longer need him.
And the worst was that he knew that this was just the beginning.
He wished everything were like it was before.
Flashback
"…And then he compelled my father to let him in" Bonnie said with a fiery look. "He compelled him! And now he's invited to my house. This is incredible"
"You're such a drama queen, Judgy. It's not like I'm going to visit you everyday"
"You only go to my house to annoy me Damon!"
"Guys, relax Ok?" Caroline said stepping between them.
"What Damon did was awful Bonnie I'm sorry" Stefan intervened just like Caroline "but you know Damon, he's an ass"
"Still… I don't want you near of my house or I'll set you on fire" Bonnie threatened Damon walking to the couch.
"This is so unfair. Why you can get inside my house and be threat good and I don't?"
"This is different. You're you. And I hate you"
"I hate you too and btw that's not an excuse"
"God, guys. Just shut up. You discuss all the time for stupid reasons" Caroline said looking at her best friend "sorry Bonnie. Why don't you make a truce?
"No way" Bonnie and Damon said at the same time.
"Oh look at you, coinciding on something. Keep going like that and you'll solve your problems" Caroline said putting her bag "I and Stefan are going to get some blood from the bank. Can you please be alive once we come back?"
Damon and Bonnie looked at each other nodding.
"Good" Stefan said walking out of the boarding house with Caroline.
As soon as Caroline and Stefan left the house, Damon walked towards Bonnie looking at her smirking.
"Seriously? You couldn't just get a better excuse to come here?" Damon asked her kissing her in the face.
"You said there was no one here after 11. I had to invent something quickly to not get caught"
"Sorry. They were supposed to go out at 10 but they stayed doing who knows they were doing. I don't know what's happening with this two. They are hanging out a lot"
"They are best friends" Bonnie said putting her bag in the couch.
"Yeah. Just like you and I" he said kissing her.
"Best friends don't do this" He raised her up while she gripped her legs around his waist noticing how he led them to his room.
End of the flashback
He felt Bonnie starting to move so he quickly stood up of the bed looking at her just for seconds before he headed out of the room.
"Are you going to tell us now?" Elena asked. Damon nodded. He wasn't in the mood to end up discussing like he loved to do before.
"As you know, from six months to nowadays Bonnie and I have been together half a year so we went to the woods, because I had her a surprise but then Klaus show up and compelled Bonnie to forget everything about me. There, done" he walked toward the cabinet looking for a drink.
"So Klaus is in town?" Stefan asked. Elena and Caroline looked at him annoyed.
"I'm sorry. I'm worried about Bonnie just like you but if Klaus is in town, we're not longer safe" Stefan declared to the ladies while Damon sat in the couch drinking what looked like Bourbon.
"I think he left" Damon said. The rest looked at him waiting for him to continue, "For his own safety. He knows I'm going to kill him"
"Is there a way to get the compulsion off?" Caroline asked.
"For the compulsion to wear off, the vampire that did it has to die. In this case, have to be killed" Stefan confessed looking at Damon.
"In this case, in hands of me" Damon said before walking upstairs.
"I want to see Bonnie" Caroline started to walk upstairs just like Damon did, when a hand grabbed her arm. Stefan.
"Caroline" Stefan stated, "Bonnie does remember us. We have to let Damon be with her while she's asleep because once she wakes up, she won't want to be near him"
Caroline looked at Elena who was nodding. He was right. Caroline nodded descending to the 1rst floor. "Okay. But I'm staying. I want to talk with her tomorrow"
"Of course, you're welcome here anytime you want" Stefan said smiling at her. Then he turned to look at his girlfriend.
"Are you staying too?" he asked. Elena negated.
"I want to go home and be with Jeremy now that Klaus might be back in town. I'll inform him everything" Elena said kissing Stefan and hugging Caroline "Bye" and she left.
"I can't believe this is happening" Caroline said covering her eyes "I thought Klaus was gone for good" Stefan walk towards her putting an arm in her shoulder. "And Bonnie… she was so happy with Damon and now…" Caroline didn't get the chance to end the sentences before she started to cry.
"Shh…" Stefan hugged her.
"What are we going to do Stefan? What if he takes you like he did before?" she looked at him with a blurry vision.
"He won't"
"You don't know that. He is a hybrid. He can compel us"
"Not if we wear verbain on us"
"Verbain does hurt us!"
"Katherine started to wear a bit of verbain everyday until she made herself immune to it. We can do the same" Caroline nodded.
"We can use Wolfsbane too"
"Good idea" he said removing a tear off her cheek
Bonnie wakes up with a terrible headache but what surprise her the most is not what happened to her, is the room she is.
"Bonnie!" she hears Caroline's voice and turns to the door to see her two best friends walking in towards her. Caroline is the first to hug her, then it comes Elena.
"How are you feeling?" Caroline asks her. She let a deep breath goes out.
"Tired and with an awful headache" she says sitting in the bed. "Where am I?"
"In Damon's room" Caroline says with a smile that vanished once she saw Bonnie's scared face.
"What... Why?" she stood up of the bed.
"Bonnie. We need to talk" Elena said sitting in the bed waiting for her to sit with her. She ends up in the middle of her two best friends.
"I know you're scared of Damon and believe me, I would have too if I woke up in that situation but he's not a threat to you. He is Stefan's brother and yes, he's a vampire too but trust me when I say that the last thing that Damon would do to you, is to hurt you" Elena said watching Bonnie looking confused.
"Why does he seem to know me? I really don't know him" Bonnie confessed and her friends looked down thinking how Damon must feel right now. "I mean, don't get the wrong idea, but I would totally remember him if I would know him"
Caroline smirked "You think he's hot, don't you?"
"Caroline!" Elena said smiling.
"Well, he is but he's not my type" Bonnie said. Elena looked at her confused.
"And how do you know that?"
"Because he's a vampire and I'm a witch. We're so opposite"
"Oh really?"
"Yeah, and well, let's be honest, that kind of guys doesn't take an interest in girls like me. He would probably be all over the moon for you" she looked at Elena "or you" she looked at Caroline too.
"Oh Bonnie, you really don't know how wrong you are" Caroline whispered with a smile. She was so going to get Bonnie and Damon together again.
Caroline left the room saying she needed to feed. When she got to Stefan's room, she entered quickly not wanting to get caught.
"Elena?" she heard Stefan's voice coming from the bathroom. She was about to respond when she saw Stefan getting out of the bathroom with only a towel under his waist. God, he was hot.
"Caroline!" Stefan exclaimed surprised. Caroline covered her eyes.
"I'm sorry, I should have knocked but I wanted to ask you something in secret and…"
"It's okay, Caroline" Stefan said and Caroline remove her hands from her eyes looking at the room. Stefan was already in pants and fighting with the buttons of his blue shirt.
"Let me help you" Caroline said walking towards him buttoning the shirt.
"So what is the thing you want to tell me?"
Damon walked in to the boarding house exhausted. He had to be careful next time. Bonnie almost caught him with her in bed. Thank god he heard Caroline's voice approaching the room otherwise Bonnie would have seen him hugging her.
He heard his little brother descending with the blonde laughing. Seriously what the hell was wrong with them? They looked almost like a couple.
He smirked satisfied at knowing he wasn't the only one with troubles in paradise. This kind of threesome between his brother and Elena and Caroline was so evident. But of course Elena was so blind and stupid to realize. Whoa… Did he call Elena stupid? Months ago he would never attribute Elena that adjective but now that he stayed out of all, he really asked himself what did really made him like Elena. Katherine's appearance, of course.
"Am I interrupting something?" Damon asked. Caroline rolled her eyes at him.
"Nothing" Stefan said hearing steps approaching from upstairs. He looked up to see Elena and Bonnie starting to descend the stairs with smiles on their faces. Once they got down, Elena looked at Damon who couldn't seem to take his eyes off of Bonnie.
"Oh god, Elena! I forgot to tell you that thing" Caroline said looking at Stefan who nodded taking the arm of her girlfriend "Can you please come outside to show you?" Caroline asked to Elena making mimics with her eyes making her realize what they were doing.
"Oh sure… Let's go" she said and the three of them left the house in a few seconds after.
Damon looked at Bonnie one more time before heading to the kitchen. Bonnie followed him.
I see you there; don't know where you come from
Unaware the stare from someone
"Can I talk to you?" Bonnie asked. Damon turned to look at her surprised. He nodded.
Don't appear to care that I saw you. And I want you
"I'm sorry about the way I threat you. I didn't know you were Stefan's brother and I just freaked out because I thought you wanted to hurt me" Bonnie said and Damon interrupted her in that part of the sentences.
"I would never hurt you" Damon said unconsciously. Bonnie looked at him shocked. Why does this man seems to care so much about me when I don't even know him?
"Thank you. But either way I would like to start all over again" Damon looked at her thinking in 3 options.
One; he could fight against everything just to get his old Bonnie back.
Two; he could start all over again and make Bonnie fall in love with him again.
Or Three; he could just let Bonnie alone, even if it hurts him so much, just to let her have a normal life and let her be happy.
His mind was struggling inside of him just to get an answer. But honestly, the last option seems to be the right one. He had to let this girl go, let her have everything she ever wanted. Maybe this was a sign, a sign that love wasn't made for him, that maybe he didn't deserve such a fascinating person in his life like her and that maybe… If she belonged to him, like the phrase says; you have to let go the person you love, if it doesn't come back it means it was never yours and if it does it means that she was always yours.
God, I am was so pathetic, Damon thought.
Bonnie waited for his response but minutes passed and nothing came out of his mouth.

"I guess I'll start" she said looking for his hand and taking it in hers. Damon couldn't help but shiver at her touch. He was seriously becoming such a sucker for this girl. Such a whipped man. He laughs in his mind. Damon and whipped in a sentence together it never had sense until now. Blame love.
You let me in and begin to show it
We're terrified Cuz we're heading straight for it, might get it.
"I'm Bonnie Bennett" she said shaking his hands and hers. Damon looked down at their touch and smiled. "This is the part where you introduce yourself too" she whispered.
"I'm Damon Salvatore" he said looking deep at her green emeralds eyes. Maybe option two wasn't so bad after all.
Say the word and I will be your man, your man.
"It's nice to meet you, Damon" Bonnie said still holding his hand never letting go the weird feeling of belonging that was starting to show in her heart when she was this close to this man.

A/N: So this is the very start to Bamon.
If someone is asking themselves, yes… I'm making a triangle between Caroline|Stefan|Elena. I ship Staroline so much but I also have a soft stop for Stelena. All those moments they have shared together are just… indescribable. So I don't know who I'm making endgame but… I guess you care more for what our favourite or ship Bamon has. Damon is going to agree with Bonnie propose and start all over again but… maybe things don't go well with that. *hint* remember she's also compelled to not love him. Sad, I know.
Next chapter, more characters are introduced, some old, some new, including our lovely Meredith Sulez from the books. More Bamon, Stelena and Staroline moments and flashbacks…
