Credit for this idea goes to Potterpines on Instagram but I wrote it. Very short and very sad oneshot but enjoy!

He was at the farmhouse once more. He came every year. He didn't exactly know why, it only caused the pain to drive deeper. His father's grave stood before him, the soft moonlight bathing the ground before it. He closed his eyes and smiled as the wind blew his blue mask tails behind him.
He was much older now, his face wrinkled but his eyes held wisdom beyond even his years.
"I'm sorry father." He breathed softly, his eyes opening again. "I have tried to be what you wanted but I feel like I failed. The team…. we fought and we fought each other sometimes. But I tried to keep them together father. And I did."
His eyes flickered to the side and tears filled his eyes. "Until I couldn't."
His head fell in his hands and memories consumed him. He always blamed himself. He still did sometimes.
Raphael was the first. It wasn't anyone's fault, a fire broke out in Aprils apartment and they had to help her. A flaming beam had struck his hot headed brother and he fell. Leo couldn't help but find the irony that his fiery brother had his light taken by a fire. Raphael had been the first gravestone to join his father's, his red mask tied around the stone and his sai buried with him.
Michelangelo was next and Leo's heart was once again torn out as he watched his baby brother die. A stray bullet from a gang fight had hit him while they were trying to save an innocent girl. Donnie had done everything he could but bullet wounds required hospitalization which they couldn't provide. Yet another gravestone and yet another broken piece of their family.
The last straw was when Donatello died, not to a fight or a fire but to a sickness. A sickness that was not curable. Once more, hospitalization was not an option and his brother died in his arms. A fourth grave stone, a fourth family member dead.
And now he was here, 8 years after his last brother died and he knew his days were as short as the wind. April didn't know he was there and neither did Karai or Casey or Mona or anyone. They all assumed he was in the lair, where he was most days. But he was here. He was saying goodbye or perhaps it was hello. He didn't know anymore. His vision was blurring slightly and he wasn't thinking straight which worried him. The wind blew once more and this time, he felt voices speaking to him.
First it was Raphael. Come on Fearless, you have nothing to be afraid of.
Then it was Donatello. He's right for once. It's just closing your eyes.
Next was Michelangelo. Ya bro. It just happens. Booyakasha you know?
One last voice joined the mix. We've missed you my son.
Leonardo smiled softly and lay back onto the grass and closed his eyes. "Just like falling asleep." He whispered and closed his eyes.
That's where they found him, a smile on his face, beside his family. He was with them again and he felt peace.
