After a lot of thinking and talking over breakfast, 303 and I found ourselves in the lobby of a giant public server. We stared at the endless labyrinth of waiting areas and game rooms that made up this strange place.

Walking toward the games, I was startled to find that there were players everywhere. However, none of them seemed to be too scared of us. Some even smiled and waved as we passed. I cautiously returned the friendly gestures and glanced at 303 to make sure he was doing the same. He was, just as unsure about the situation as I was.

"Hey!" a player yelled. I looked around, just to realize that he was talking to us. Turning to him, I prepared myself for the worst.

"Nice usernames" he said, "You were lucky to be able to get those ones."

Confused, I looked up to see that my name was hovering above my head. 303's name did too. In fact, everyone had their name displayed right above their heads. I hadn't even noticed.

"Uh, thanks" 303 said to the player. He was clearly nervous but trying to cover it up.

"Too bad you're not the real things, your skins are perfect."

I looked at the player like he was crazy, but 303 nudged me hard in the ribs. "Yeah" he said, "It would be cool to be the real Herobrine and Entity 303."

That made sense, everyone thought we were fakes. Most players think that it's impossible for beings like us to join public servers. I thought that over, maybe acting normal today wouldn't be that hard.

That player held his hand out to shake, "I'm GoldenTang, but you can just call me Gold." 303 and I both shook his hand in turn. I knew what his name was because I could clearly see it above him, but I guess players like to introduce themselves formally.

*A quick author's note: GoldenTang is not someone I know, it's just a random name I came up with. I don't even know if that is an actual username. Even if it is, please do not go out seeking that player. This story is purely for entertainment.*

"I'm Brine" I told him, "And this is 303."

"Cool, I couldn't get any of my friends to join me so I'm alone today. Do you want to play some games with me?"

Go let this player teach us how to do player stuff? This was great! "I'm fine with that, how about you 303?"

"Sounds great" my friend said, "We're new around here so we don't really know much though."

"That's okay," Gold sounded excited, "I'll show you everything, come on!"

He took off toward a section of minigames. We followed, anxious but more confident now. This might turn out to be a great day.
