Twenty minutes had past and Brittany hadn't said another word. She just stared into space; her eyes were widened and her jaw clenched. She took deep, shaky breaths. All she could think about was the life growing within Santana. It was part hers. And she didn't know what to do. She didn't know how to look after a baby. She didn't know what a baby needed. The only thing she could remember was a load of onesies for her little sister, Lily.
"Britt, please say something else," Santana said softly. "Say something so I know this isn't some dream. Say something," she faced Brittany and watched as the blonde continued to gaze onto the floor before she felt her moving
Brittany slid her arm out from around Santana's waist. "I'm leaving," Brittany hoisted herself off the ground and rushed back to Santana's bedroom to grab her letterman jacket. Santana followed her quickly, only footsteps behind her best friend. She didn't want Brittany to leave. Although she'd never admit it, she needed Brittany at that moment.
"Britt," she called as Brittany jogged down the stairs. "Please come back," she cried. Lucky for them, Santana's parents had left for work, so they didn't hear her meltdown on the stairs. As Brittany slammed the door behind her, Santana began to sob uncontrollably.
The blonde slid down the door on the outside and began to cry quietly. She held the ends of her jacket and buried her face in the crook of her elbow. It smelt of Santana, since she was wearing it almost all of the previous night.
"Save me from this nightmare, San," she whimpered into her Letterman jacket. The sleeves were soaked from the tears she had bottled up inside. "I'm so stupid," she sniffled into her knees. Brittany stood up, still crying, and walked over to the fence outside the house. She grabbed onto them and bowed her head. "So f*ckin' stupid," she roared at herself, kicking the bottom of the white fence.
Santana opened the door, unknown to Britt, and felt the urge to comfort her best friend. Her heart broke as she watched Brittany hurt herself verbally. But she couldn't bring herself to be with Brittany right now. She watched as Brittany walked down the street, playing with the hems of her jacket. The blonde had wiped away all the tears off her cheeks, and Santana brought her hand to her heart, beating hard and fast.
"Mom! I'm home!" Brittany announced loudly, only then realising that she had left her bag at Santana's house. It was only eleven in the morning and Brittany had already found out probably the biggest news ever, only a few things could make her forget it for a few seconds. When she heard the barking of her dog Billie and the squealing of her sister Lily, she smiled widely.
She looked through the glass doors in the kitchen which led to the garden. She could see Lily chasing Billie and laughed to herself. Lily was ten and Brittany loved her to bits and pieces. Billie was their pet dog, and she also loved him to pieces.
"Brittany, I have some breakfast for you," Her Mom, Susan, appeared out of the kitchen and gave her daughter a full breakfast. Brittany ate a lot, but never gained any weight, I guess some just get it lucky.
The blonde sat at the table in the kitchen and looked over at the family picture above the edge of the table. There was a lump in her throat as her eyes panned across to her father. It was coming up to his fifth anniversary, his death anniversary. She sighed deeply and shakily, she wished that he was there with her. She was always daddy's little girl, and she knew that he would protect her at all causes. She missed it, so much.
"Britty!" Harris Pierce called from across the backyard. Brittany was twelve and Harris was sitting down on a sunchair. He was pale as ever. "Britty!" The blonde ran over to his side.
"Daddy, what's wrong?" She asked, worried about her Dad.
"Nothing sweetie, c'mere," he patted the space next to him and she sat down. She laid her head on his chest. "Can I ask you a favour Britty?" Brittany nodded. "Can you look after your Mom and sister?"
"Yeah, I promise I will," she sniffled. "Daddy, I can tell you anything, right? You'll still love me?"
"I'll always love you Britty. As long as you remember me, I'll always love you," they stayed in silence, Brittany working up the courage to tell her Dad something. She wanted to tell him before he passed.
"I think I like boys and girls," she whispered.
"That's okay Britty, I love you," Harris kissed her forehead. "I'm expecting plenty of grandchildren," he laughed, stroking her hair.
That was his last summer, he never did get to meet any of his grandchildren.
"I wish he was here too honey," Susan rubbed her daughter's back. "I know he would be so proud of you," she kissed Brittany's forehead. Brittany was startled by her mother speaking suddenly. She shook her head and squeezed her eyes shut.
Brittany picked up her breakfast. "I'm going to eat outside," she opened the door and sat down on a chair outside.
"Britt!" Lily squealed. She ran over to her big sister and squeezed her. Brittany tried not to drop her breakfast as Lily squeezed her around the stomach.
"Geez kid, your acting as if you haven't seen me in years," Brittany stood up and placed her breakfast down and squeezed the living daylights out of her sister. "It's been one night, and you were sleeping," Britt scoffed.
"Well, I didn't missed you. You looked sad so I gave you a hug, it's what I'm suppose to do, silly," Lily teased. Brittany loved how Lily could sense whenever she was sad, distressed or just in a weird mood.
"You are the most awesome ten year old ever, please never ever ever grow up. Trust me when I say that being a teenager sucks," Brittany pouted.
"I will try, but I can't promise." Lily teased, displaying a large grin. Brittany stuck her tongue out at Lily, leaning over to grab some bacon to eat. Then she heard her phone start start to play Santana's ring tone.
Don't stop, make it pop
DJ, blow my speakers up
Tonight, Imma fight
'Til we see the sunlight
TiK ToK, on the clock
But the party don't stop no
It Santana's particular favourite song that Brittany had sung. And every time they had gone out, they always seemed to be able to relate to the lyrics. She clicked the ignore button, swiftly.
"Go pick a movie and I'll meet you upstairs," Brittany smiled, wanting to check her phone for messages. "I just got to ask Mom something," she lied. She just really wanted to check to see if Santana had texted her.
"Can we watch the Lion King?"
"Obviously," Britt exclaimed back. Lily ran up the stairs in excitement and Brittany sat back down on the seat. She pulled out her phone to see a few texts and missed calls from Santana.

Brittany put her phone into her pocket again; her hands were shaking. She let out a shaky breath and a lump formed in her throat. How could she leave her best friend? Especially when she had just gotten her pregnant. Her hand covered her mouth which was wide open. She sniffed and coughed violently from the tears she didn't know were flowing down her cheeks.
"Man up Brittany. C'mon!" She pepped herself. "Wow, I'm such a f*cking loser, talking to myself already," she scoffed quietly. The blonde walked up the stairs and into her sister's room to tackle her onto the bed. She had already started the movie. Brittany got under the covers and reached over to get a hand full of skittles and eat them. Lily crawled over to Brittany and grabbed some skittles, then cuddled into Brittany's side, who held her close. "Never grow up Lily," she whispered to herself, kissing Lily on the crown of her head.
Since Brittany had left the house, Santana had been sick. She had ran straight back to her room and stayed there with basins and towels. She f*cking hated this pregnant thing.
Not a scent had past by her nose without her chugging up every last inch of her stomach. And when she couldn't, she began to dry-heave. Her excuse to her Mom was, once again, practising her bird calls for zoology class.
She heard someone walking up the stairs and groaned. "Santana!" Her brother, Xavier (he was twenty and visiting his family for the week), called up the stairs. He knocked on the door. "I'm coming in," the door creaked open slowly. She sat at the edge of her bed, breathing in and out deeply, trying to rid of the sickness. "Here's some water," he smiled sweetly. God she wanted to punch him, but he was too God damn sweet to punch.
Santana took the glass and smiled back. "Thanks, X," she said, trying her hardest not to throw up all over him.
"Not feeling to great?" He asked, rubbing her back.
"Nah, just a stomach bug, it'll pass," she took a sip of of water and put the piece of gum, that he handed her quickly, in her mouth to chew.
He looked at her sternly. "You sure it's nothing else, San. I heard you getting sick earlier this morning and yesterday."
"Seriously, I'm fine."
"San, I know when something is up. I'm that annoying brother," he laughed. Santana took a deep breath through her nose. She hadn't told anyone yet. Xavier was the type of son who told his parents anything, so getting him not to would be a struggle for Santana.
"Okay. You have to promise that you won't tell anyone. Not even Mamí or Papí," she replied with a stern tone.
"Promise."
Brittany and Lily had watched movies deep into the night until Lily had fallen asleep half way through Toy Story 3, when Brittany started to cry because 'Andy' was leaving for college. She looked over at Lily and smiled at her cuddled into a pillow. Brittany stood up and kissed Lily's forehead lightly. She tucked Lily under the sheets and turned off the lights. On the way to her bedroom, Brittany pulled close her Mother's bedroom door.
When she had gotten out of her jeans and into a pair of boxers and a black v-neck, Brittany jumped under the duvet and pulled her phone off her locker. She smiled as the her wallpaper appeared. It was two pictures of her and Santana at a water park. In one of them Santana was on Brittany's back with her neon pink bikini on (Brittany was wearing a pair of short black trunks, to hide the junk, and a black bikini bra). The second was after the water park in her backyard, Brittany had pinned Santana down on the grass. They were 'this' close from kissing. She put down the phone and curled on her side. The blonde smiled at the pictures, remembering that day vividly.
Brittany remembered how many times Santana had been there for her. All the memories came flowing back.
They met when they were eight, almost ten years ago. She had been Brittany's best friend from the start. She always helped with her reading and homework. She always threatened people whenever they called Brittany stupid or an idiot.
When Brittany was diagnosed with dyslexia at eleven, Santana was there. She would come over to her house and help her keep up with the school work. Even when Brittany got angry at herself, Santana managed to calm her down and help her, she just always found a way when no one else could.
Brittany's dad was diagnosed with liver cancer when she was twelve, Santana hugged her all night and all day. He died a year later, Santana helped Brittany with everything. She comforted her, tutored her and picked her up when she broke down. She was Brittany's rock.
Both of them had there first kiss at fourteen, the day before their first day at high school. It was with each other. It was also when Brittany absolutely knew she was falling for Santana
No matter where Brittany was, what she was doing, Santana was with her. For her. The fact that she couldn't be there for Santana when she probably needed her most.
[To Santana]
I'm sorry

01:03 AM
Brittany nor Santana were asleep. They tossed and turned trying to just close their eyes and fall into a deep sleep.
The blonde tried no longer. Instead she tossed the duvet to the floor and got out of bed. She changed into some sweats and a hoodie. She left a note to her Mom saying she went to Santana's house.
It was dark and cold outside but it didn't affect Britt. She was determined to see Santana. She could see her warm breath in the freezing cold air.
She walked for ten minutes until Santana's house was in eye distance. Brittany climbed over the fence into the backyard, she took a long stick from behind the shed (the one she always kept there for sneaking into Santana's house) and knocked on Santana's bedroom window. She loved how Santana made a long stick just for times like this.
"Please, please, please be awake," Brittany whispered to herself, although she knew Santana was a light sleeper anyway. She tapped the window again. Santana opened the window quickly. She furrowed her eyebrows at Brittany. The Latina rolled her eyes and pointed at the ladder behind Brittany. Quickly, Brittany dropped the stick and grabbed the ladder from in front of the shed.
"What are you doing here?" Santana whispered as Brittany tumbled into her room, knocking over a pot of pencils. "You always were a klutz," she took Brittany's frozen hand. "God B, you're frozen," Santana looked around herself, frantically trying to find something to warm up Brittany.
Brittany put her hands on Santana's shoulders and said, "San, San stop!" She made a strong eye contact with Santana. "I'm fine. I came here because I couldn't sleep knowing I left my best friend behind, especially knowing that she is pregnant with my baby," Brittany smiled softly. She wrapped her arms around the Latina's neck. Her face was buried deep in the crook between Santana's neck and shoulder. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have left," Santana returned the hug, rubbing Brittany's back.
"It's okay," Santana stroked Brittany's hair as her body shivered against her own warm flesh. "Seriously, you're freezing B, get into bed," she soothingly rubbed up and down Brittany's shaking arms. She watched as the blonde took her black sweatpants off and got under the covers.
"C'mere," Brittany patted a spot for Santana to lie on. She cuddled into the side of Brittany's chest and drew circles on her stomach muscles. "Wait, stand up, please," Santana knitted her eyebrows together, standing up as told by Britt. The blonde crawled over to Santana. "Can I?" She gestured to her t-shirt; Santana nodded. Brittany reached forward to lift up Santana's t-shirt, revealing her flat stomach. She brushed her thumb against Santana's soft skin. She smiled up at Santana.
"Hey kiddo, I know you probably can't hear me right now but if you can, you are the most awesome surprise ever. Your Mommy and I made you and I promise to always protect you. I love you," she said before caressing Santana's stomach and kissing it again. She took Santana's hands and pulled her down slowly. "It's gonna be okay." She assured Santana. "I promise it'll be okay," she wrapped her arms around Santana's stomach. They both lowered down onto the bed.
"Thanks Britt," Santana smiled at Brittany. She scooted under Brittany's arm and sneaked her hand under Brittany's shirt to draw circles on her bare skin. "I honestly don't know what to do Britt. I'm so scared," Brittany tugged her tighter, giving her a little bit of reassurance.
"I don't care what you do. If you keep it, I'll be right by your side. If you give it up for adoption or abort, I'll be here with you. You're my best friend," Brittany replied. Her comforting words put Santana at ease. She relaxed into Brittany's body.
Best friend, that's all I'll ever be, Brittany thought. "I mean, best friends raising a baby. It wouldn't be that weird," the Latina said. "Maybe it's what our friendship is meant to be."
"Do you want to keep the baby?" Britt asked, looking down at Santana. She nodded back. "Then I say we can do it," Brittany smiled tiredly. "It's gonna be scary, and God knows what we have to do to raise a baby, but I think we can do it."
"Okay, so that's that. We're having a baby," Santana draped her arm over Brittany's stomach, she felt so comfortable, like she was at home with Brittany. Brittany drew calming circles on Santana's back and kissed the crown of her head as the Latina started to drift of. The thought of having a baby, it was a nightmare to Brittany. But the thought of having it with Santana, it was a dream come true.
A/N: So... We're still getting to grips with this story...
Anyway, Brittany got scared and freaked out. We met her sister, her dog and her Mom. And learned something about her Dad.
Then, we met her brother, but we don't know his reaction.
Brittany went back to Santana's house.
And they're keeping the baby!
So, do you want them to have a boy or a girl? Name suggestions?
How do you think Xavier, Santana's family and/or Brittany's family will react?
