Chapter 2

(In Tin- The Scare

Tin's point a view)

It had been a year since I have that pregnancy scare, since then Alan has been more careful around me. We get on each other's naves from time to time, who wouldn't when you are one of three women living on an island with men. I was in the kitchen helping Grandma and Jo with meals, nothing felted out of place and I was happy with my life. I was so glad to see Alan going up to TB5, because ever since that scare Alan hasn't left my side.

It had been a rough day for everyone, so we decided to make a good dinner. If I am honest I didn't feel too good and I didn't want to bother Jo with it. She has a lot on her plate at the moment. So, didn't really want to add to them. As I was helping I got a pain in my back thinking nothing of it I just carried on with life, It had lasted a few weeks and I never told anybody what was going on. I ended up helping Jo in the Sick Bay a few weeks later, she had noticed that I didn't see myself.

"Hey Tin-Tin are you Okay? As you don't seem yourself" asked Jo

"Just haven't been feeling good the last few weeks, I thought it would have passed by now"

"Why didn't you tell me when it happened? I could have helped you to find out what was going on"

"I knew you had your own worries and I didn't want to add to them"

"Okay why don't you let me check you over now? If its anything serious then I can call Virgil in to give me a hand"

"Well make it quick, I think that I am dying here. I said to Jo who had started to feel around my tummy. She said that it was very hard, I had put it down to not being able to go to the toilet for a couple of days.

"Tin-Tin I need to check you down below, are you aware that you could have been pregnant? By the looks of it you are at least eight months along".

"But how? I have been getting my period every 28 days, so I can't have been. What am I going to tell Alan now? I told him that I wasn't ready to start a family."

"Let's not panic, I am going to get Virgil in here, believe it or not honey but you are in labour. This baby isn't waiting" said Jo while she was getting everything ready she had called Virgil down.

"Hey Jo, what's going on?"

"its Tin-Tin, she had told me that she hadn't been feeling well for a few weeks. She let me check her out only for me to discover that Tin-Tin is eight months along. And now she is in labour." Said Jo

"I swear I am going to kill that youngest brother of mine" said Virgil as he went to walk out the door only to be stopped by me shouting from the bed.

"Virgil leave Alan for now, you are needed here like it or not." While I was saying that Jo went and got her portable scanner to check that everything was okay.

"Okay Tin-Tin I don't want to panic you but by the looks of things it looks like that your baby is brunch we need to get this baby out now"

It didn't take long for Virgil and Jo to deliver this baby, once they had checked it over Jo handed the baby.

"Well Tin-Tin you have a gorgeous baby boy, he is a month early but seems fine. I am due an appointment with my midwife in a couple of days, why don't you join me to get this little guy checked out?" asked Jo

Just then Virgil walks in with his laptop under his arm, I had a feeling why he had it. So, he set it up and called Alan who was on five.

"This is Virgil Tracy calling TB5 come in Alan"

"TB5 here what can I do for you?"

"I'll tell you what is going on, I really hate to break this to you, but you are a Dad"

"What do you mean I am a Dad? Last time I spoke to Tin-Tin didn't want kids" just then Alan ran out of words.

"Like it or not you are a Dad, and you have to grow up now Alan. I didn't know I was expecting till Jo looked me over. By then it was too late to do anything about it, anyway if you are interested at all you have a son. Don't bother about asking to come down early, Virgil and Jo are taking me to get our son checked out. I said as I put the laptop lid down. I didn't mean to snap at Alan, when he acts like a child it does get to me. I think Alan will make a good Dad once we have been both over the shock of it.
