I blinked open my eyes, the light shone brightly.
"Good morning, Piper."
I looked, the brunette girl sat by my bedside. I opened my mouth, then I choked back a pained scream. My throat felt like it was on fire! She must have noticed.
"Don't worry, we'll find you someone to drink. By the way I'm Maria."
I was getting ready to reply, but realization hit me. "Someone?" I managed to choke out. "What have you done to me?"
Maria's lips curled into a devious smile. "You're a vampire."
"Vampire?" I asked in full shock.
"Yes." Maria replied. "And I hope you're as useful as your brother was."
"Jasper?" I yelled, ignoring the pain in my throat.
Maria's devil like eyes glinted. "Yes. I turned your brother in the same place I met you. It would have been 13 years, 4 days ago."
I felt sick, Jasper's birthday, was also his death day.
"Your brother was my second in command, he trained my newborn vampires, and killed them at the age of one year. He was also my mate" Maria's eyes suddenly darkened. "Then one day two refugees who were once one of the army, Peter and Charlotte, came and asked Jasper to leave, he did."
"What happened to him?" I rasped.
Maria growled. "At this point I could care less! He could be dead for all I care!"
I glared at her. "Don't you say that!"
Maria's eyes glimmered with amusement. "Do you not like me insulting your idiot of a brother."
That did it for me. A snarl came from my throat, I opened my mouth, a roar escaped. I lunged for her. Maria dodged gracefully. Her eyes widened in surprise.
"I don't believe it, a shape-shifting vampire."
"What do you mean?" I demanded. She led me to a pool of sapphire blue water. I looked down, and gasped. I wasn't looking at the face of a human with blond (almost white) hair with pale brown eyes.
I was looking into the face of a tiger.
