Chapter 1 Reborn
"So is this hell?"
Charley Pacheco (Nickname Chaz) is a 18-year-old male who just recently woken up in an unknown place. He gets up and looks around while he asks himself "So is this hell?"
The place he is in is rather...empty. Like he's standing on a mirror because he can see what's above him by looking down. It reflects, just like how a mirror works.
Of course, once he looks up, it's just a sky full of cumulus clouds. There's no sun but everything is so bright where he stands.
"Or is this heaven?" being optimistic.
"Neither you think it is, it is not."
Suddenly a man wearing a white robe appears in front of him.
The Chaz was surprised to see him appear in thin air, that he actually backs away a little. Thinking it was a grim reaper that wanted to take him. Although he was wrong because "It's a dude." he thought while feeling relief.
He questions the man right away.
"Are you God?"
Chaz felt like the person in front of him was God. After all, no ordinary person can appear in thin air and he knows he's already dead.
The man smiles, making Chaz think he got it right.
"Yes, I am."
"Although, I'm very disappointed at you right now.", God said while his smile changes to a frown.
The teenager flinches a little because he knows why God is disappointed at him.
He's a Christian and he knows to end your life is a sin to his religion.
That is why God was disappointed at him.
He felt regretful and slightly angered at himself, but all he can do right now was apologize while waiting for the punishment.
"Sorry..."
"..."
God sighed. As he looks at him very seriously.
"Can you tell me why?"
Chaz immediately knows this question related to his suicidal. So he answers the question right away.
"Because I just can't take it anymore."
"You saw how my life was right? It was...hard." He said while remembering why he did it.
In truth. The reason why he ended his life was that it wasn't easy for him to live his life anymore. He got abusive parent despite them being Christian. His childhood was ruined by his parents and people who bullied him and the one "Thing" was already gone.
And God knows him very well. He does understand him but he's just very disappointed. He has plans for him in the future if he hadn't given up. Like after all those hardships, he was going to give him a path of a new beginning and everything on that path will be happiness and joy.
"I had a surprise for you sooner or later if you hadn't given up..." God said while sighing once again.
After hearing that it made him want to die again.
"But I'll make an exception."
Although that feeling suddenly disappeared and as he slightly looks up to God.
"Your fate in me hasn't disappeared till now and you did so many good deeds while you were alive."
"Even I got outclass by a fictional Japanese film but It's alright."
He got triggered that he actually talked back to him.
"It's called "Is The Order a Rabbit?" Don't you dare say, it's a fictional Japanese film!"
Upon realizing what he did, he immediately covers his mouth in shock.
"What the heck was I thinking?!, talking back to a god, I must be insane?!" He thought to himself.
"Yes, an anime." He said correcting himself while making a poker face.
"And you're insane, indeed." God thought to himself.
God can read his mind since Chaz is just a soul and he is in his divine realm.
Although if he did say that out loud, Chaz would immediately treat him as a friend instead of god because he values people that understand him.
Anyways, despite Chaz having a hard life and all that, he didn't give up. He goes to church every single day after school and prays to god. He helps people whatever way he can, the one thing that kept him going the most was a certain anime called, "Is The Order a Rabbit?". Basically, that anime is his life.
Like everything is thrown out of the window if there's an episode airing on the television.
He would stay up late just to watch an episode of that anime in the television and sometimes skip school even church day, just so he doesn't miss a single episode.
Even getting beat up by his abusive parents. He will risk that for a single episode.
So when he found out that the anime was closing down, he pushed himself to commit suicide.
Truly an insane person.
"Would he still be alive, if he didn't discover that anime?" God thought to himself.
Of course, he would. That's the whole reason why he ended his life anyway!" God thought, answering his question.
He lets out a sigh, as he looks at Chaz calmly.
"But even he doesn't discover that anime, I don't think he would last that long…"
God, can already predict what will happen to him, even if he discovered that anime or not.
If Chaz didn't discover it, he would, of course, be alive and be taken to that path he planned but there's a chance he would wander off then be bad and a chance of his parents killing him because they're getting worse and worse each day forward.
Second, if he decided to stay alive while knowing that anime has closed down. The result would be the same but there's a chance he wouldn't be happy at all, even though everything turns out fine in the end.
All of these predictions can also not happen but he believes it would since the chances are there.
"Sadly, I don't control destiny or their free will but I can only give a sign for to them to go too when the time comes." He thought while feeling underwhelm.
Going back to the main topic. He calls his name to catch his attention.
"Chaz"
"Yes?"
"I'll grant your wish, which you always say in your prayers."
"!?"
Chaz was surprised.
He felt like the world has stopped and enjoyment is overflowing inside of him.
He wants to jump in sheer joy and celebration but he can't because God isn't done talking and that would be disrespectful. He already talked back to him earlier.
"In exchange of you living your life in that world fulfilling."
"So, I don't want to hear any complaints or whatever. You better enjoy it."
"And don't be glad because you committed suicide and this happened. You and I know, suicide is a big sin. I could seriously change my mind and send you down to hell."
Chaz is smiling, with the joyous smile, he ever had in his entire life.
And tears start rolling down his cheek as he said…
"Of course, I would literally enjoy my life if that is the case."
"And don't worry. I will never think of it such thing ever."
"Mark my words." He said while looking at God very seriously and so happy that you can tell this guy is about to celebrate any moment from sheer happiness.
God smiles at his response and is happy about how Chaz is reacting.
"Good." He thought to himself.
God or Goddesses aren't supposed to do this at all but since Chaz was able to take this God interest and the fate that Chaz gave him while he was alive made him do this exception.
This God will be scolded later on by other Gods or Goddesses that watch the world along with him but he's willing to take that, just for this moment and for this one soul 's happiness.
"I would like to talk to you more but time is running out."
There's a certain time limit for a soul to stay in the divine realm. That is why he's in a hurry all of a sudden.
Why is there a time limit? Well because he has to deal with other souls that are coming in from earth after all and judge them by sending them to heaven or hell. Sometimes on rare occasions doing the same thing just like what he's doing to Chaz. Granting their wishes.
Of course, that is a taboo, and he will definitely get scolded very hard later on but this is his decision after all and he would only do it to people that took his interest and give lots of fate to him.
"I shall start transferring you into that world."
Chaz wipes his tears away and made himself ready.
"Those prayers weren't worthless after all…" He thought to himself.
Hearing that made God happy.
Chaz wanted to repay him for granting this longing wish he had when he was alive but sadly there's nothing he can do.
Although there is one thing he could do.
"Thank you." He said with a smile.
Which is to thank him.
"Don't mention it." He smiles back.
Suddenly Chaz disappears from his sight after he said that.
He starts scratching his head and then realized something that he forgot to do.
"Shoot. I forgot to erase his memory."
If Gods or Goddesses do the reincarnation process, they must erase the soul's previous memory just to prevent any major calamity in the world they have transferred into.
He looks up and smiles.
"Live your life buddy."
But since he knows him too well, he believes that he won't spill anything about their existence and so forth. Which is why he decided not to bring his soul back to his divine realm.
Of course, no consequences will happen to them in the future because of this mistake but he will get even more scolding from the other gods and goddesses later.
Colmar. It's a town in the Grand Est region of northeastern France, near the border with Germany. It's an old town with cobblestoned streets lined with half-timbered medieval and early Renaissance building.
In one of this building, a baby is about to be born.
"Congratulations, It's a healthy boy!" The doctor said.
The birthing process was a success and a healthy boy has arrived into this world.
"C-Can...I...see him?" The mother said while feeling so tired after giving birth to her son.
The doctor brought the baby next to the mother as she carries the baby on her arms.
"Chiru...my sweet little boy…" The mother said while being happy that her baby has been born healthy.
Not all babies cry with their first breath after being born but this one does. Of course, it would mean they were crying because they are bruised and sore from the trauma of birth.
But that wasn't it.
The baby wasn't crying because of pain. The baby was crying because of sheer happiness.
Then a door slammed open.
"How's the baby?!"
This person is the husband, who just recently woken up from the cry of his son.
He was waiting outside of the door after all and somehow fallen asleep while waiting.
Because the mother was giving birth in the middle of the night.
The mother and doctor looked at him and the mother replies with a smile.
"A healthy boy..."
The husband went to his son and was happy to see him being carried by his wife.
"Oh!...I'm a father now. A father!"
The wife laughs happily so is the doctor because of how overacting he is and at the same time very happy.
And so this is a new beginning of Chaz. Reborn to a world that he yearned for in his previous life.
All he can do now is enjoy this world to the fullest like what God asked him to.
