Chapter 1

True Love's First Kiss

Pairings: Sasuke and Naruto

Disclaimer: I do Not own Naruto.

Author note: It has been a major transformation. I wanted it to be more modern with actual problems that are real time. I want to give it a real feel. I don't want to rush Sasuke and Naruto's relationship. I want to put real problems that people have faced. Growing up I want to say I can sympathizes with both characters on not having parents, and how it feels like, so i want to put my experiences in an actual scenario for Naruto and Sasuke. I revamped the story and will be deleting the previous "True Love's First Kiss." I took strides to map out what i want ,and how the characters personalities develop with their past experience.

"Are you ready Naruto? You sure you have everything packed? We won't be coming back."

The man winced at his own words. He was Iruka Umino and Thirty-Five years old. He had light brown hair that reached just past his shoulders if he wore it out of the usual ponytail. He was good looking compared to the average man of his age. His smile he wore most of the time always reached his chocolate brown eyes. The only mark on the man's body was a scar that adored across his nose. An accident from a fire that took his parents. It was a reminder of them, so the man was never bothered by it. It was his reminder of how much he was loved by his parents and that his life was precious.

"Yea, I got everything." A blonde youth descended the stairs. He had electric blue eyes and whisker like scars on both his cheeks. The man felt a bit of nostalgia as the boy walked down the stairs. He adopted Naruto at the young age of three.

Iruka had just moved here to Anchorage Alaska from Sitka. He was changing chief jobs and was getting ready to become a head chief in Las Vegas but he had to go through a trial process here in the one of the main cities.

He had been walking to catch a taxi to head to the Airports where his job was, but something caught his eyes. A little blond toddler was outside bundled in an orange puffy jacket, playing in the snow. He had looked around seeing if the boy's parents were around but his eyes landed on the orphanage sign. Iruka's heart swelled. Before he knew it he was walking towards the blonde boy. The boy looked up, Iruka swore his heart ached from just the lack of life in those blue eyes. To be that young and have that look.

"Are you going to make a snowman?" Iruka asked closing the distance and squatting in front of the boy. Iruka started to pile snow together. The blonde boy looked lost and confused. His little blonde head went left and then right before pointing a cute little stubby finger at himself.

Iruka smiled and pointed at the boy. The little blonde's face broke out in a huge grin that took the man's breath away. They both ended up playing in the snow until Iruka had a made a decision that would change his life indefinitely. He took the little boys hand and pulled him along back towards the orphanage.

"Can I help you sir?" The lady looked annoyed. Iruka never felt like punching someone more that her that day.

" I want to start the adoption process for him." Iruka said picking up the Blonde youth who was staring at him in shock.

"You seriously want that brat?" The women sounded disgusted, " we have more suitable children to adopt. Trust me, once you hear his story you won't want him." Iruka was very angry now.

Naruto was looking very sad and the light in his eyes had gone back to the dull blue color he had when Iruka first saw him this morning.

"No, that won't be necessary. I want Naruto."

"Really?" The little blonde said with the biggest blue eyes that looked so hopeful. Iruka felt a lump in his throat when he answered the boy.

"Yes, If Naruto wants me to be his his Daddy." The little boy Hugged his neck and started to cry, his answer coming out in babbles.

"I'll get the paperwork so you can start on them." The women eyes had softened at the sight of the two.

It had been a long ten months and it would have been longer if Iruka's friend hadn't gotten him a fancy lawyer from California to help out with the process. Also the women who had gotten the paperwork for them had really pushed for Naruto and Iruka to be together. They had been telling him he was too young and he had to finish this and that. For one he didnt have a suitable house and the money from his day job barley supported was a very long strenuous ten women use to be a lawyer back in the day and so after the long months Naruto came home.

Iruka had learned about the boys past and his heart only wanted to love the boy as much as he could. For the next fifteen years Iruka had done just that.

"Alrighty then, Shall we go then?" Iruka smiled patting the blonde's head, an old habit of his. The blonde smiled up at him. Iruka Didn't feel guilty one bit when he decided to take a new job in California. He would be working for Uchiha household as a chief, it was a little odd that he was called for the job, because he hadn't been in a kitchen for a few years. He had put the application in because his friend requested he do so. He was just surprised he was chosen.

Also the blonde would be turning eighteen this year and he wanted Naruto to explore all his options. Iruka was going to give him the tools and opportunities in California that one couldn't get here in Alaska. He knew the blonde was sad and disappointed to leave his home where he grew up in, but the change would be for the best. The blonde took one last glance around at their small two story house then walked out the door full stride with a single tear sliding down his cheek.

"Let's do this thing." Naruto shouted. Iruka locked the door and smiled at the sold sign in the front yard. He had sold the house to a Grandfather and his grandson who were looking for a home. The boy was cute and Naruto had watched him often. Konohamaru reminded the man of Naruto with his loud attitude and rambunctious self.

They were going to be taking a taxi to the airport, their car had been taken up already expense free thanks to the Uchihas. A new life awaited them, and every time Iruka thought of Naruto in California and how right that image was, made him chuckle.

It had taken about six in a half hours to reach Sacramento National Airport, leaving the two men somewhat tired but had transferred in Seattle and one more time in Salt lake city, but had to rush every time to get to their next plane, so there had been no time to see the places they had stopped at. It took an additional thirty minutes for them to get off of the semi packed plain, because of first class passengers. The airport was huge and had a lot of people dressed in all kinds of clothes and chatting or rushing around with their luggages. The blonde was taking it all in and felt overwhelmed with so many people around. The Alaskan Airport was quiet and barely had anyone even getting on planes. It was so different from here. On top of that there were all kinds of ethnicities and color within the people. Naruto had always enjoyed other people's cultures and religions. Not that he was religious himself he just found it interesting.

Iruka watched as different emotions ran across his son's eyes, he had always been expressive, it was cute. Iruka grabbed the blonde's wrist gently and started to pull him towards the luggage drop off. It was a bit of a struggle with everyone crowding around the caviar belt. Spotting their bags, it wasn't hard due to his sons fascination with orange, they rushed to grab their stuff before getting sucked into the mob of people.

"Iruka, Naruto!" both men turned to see a recognizable well dressed man. The man had silver hair that seemed to have way too much gel in it to make it defy gravity.

"Kakashi!" the blonde yelled, earning snickers from people around and curious glances. The blonde didn't seem to mind as he threw himself at the other man.

Iruka smiled as his thoughts went to the silver haired man. He had been there with Iruka fighting for him to get the blonde. He was the one who had hired a good lawyer for him and even sent money to them throughout the years. The man made occasional visits and as a result made an unbreakable bond with the blonde boy.

Feeling nostalgic for the second time that day, he threw himself at the other man and the boy hugging him with appreciation. The taller man smiled affectionately at the two.

"I've missed you too baby." The man smirked at the glare he received.

"You just had to ruin the moment didn't you." Iruka glared walking away from the man who had released Naruto. He couldn't believe this pervert, and here he thought he was some nice person.

He sure was a pervert and when Naruto wasn't looking or in view, the silver haired man always attacked him and glomped him like a life line of some sort.

Both caught up to the brunette and chatted away with random life happenings and such. Kakashi worked for the Uchihas as well. He was a guard and a secretary. He couldn't give much detail, but he loved his job and was definitely good at it. He had earned Fugaku trust, he was head of the Uchiha clan, and he trusted Kakashi with not only his life but his two sons. Of course these were just small snippets of what Kakashi told him not going into detail.

Another reason he decided to take on this job was a request from Kakashi. He was concerned about the youngest Uchiha, after Mrs. Uchiha passed away from a car accident The youngest got it in his head he was the cause and growing up has tried to commit suicide more than three times. Kakashi asked if he could come in and help because he wasn't able to do anything and Iruka, as his friend described, was more suited to helping the boy. Iruka felt like the man was over exaggerating and that he was merely a normal person.

"Iruka you were able to help Naruto." the man's voice was full of trust.

"Yes, but he was different, he never tried to commit suicide." The man pleaded a little.

"Yes, but suicide and doing harmful things to one's body for the rush is almost the same, Naruto could have killed himself and gone over the edge if you hadn't been there Iruka. I know you can do this and I have no one to turn too." Iruka sighed. Thinking of losing his blonde was too much for him. He was a parent and he had to do what was right for his son. It had hurt Iruka that Naruto was being bullied, harassed, and ignored. He had to do something otherwise his blonde wouldn't have been the same bubbly blob he was now.

"I can't promise that I can heal him or anything, but i'll try my best Kakashi. You have done so much for Naruto and I. This boy seems to be very precious to you."

"Of course, i was there when he was born and up until now... He and Naruto are precious to me." Iruka felt his heart pounding in his chest. Of course he knew the other man cared about Naruto but it seemed he was an irreplaceable person in his life along with the youngest Uchiha. Warmth spread throughout the man's chest and around his heart.

"I'll do the best I can then; for both their sakes." Iruka knew this was a once in a lifetime opportunity to get Naruto away from these assholes and into a place that he could fly and not be hammered down by his past.

"Alright i'll fax you the details and get everything in order for your trip down here then." The man said softly.

"And Iruka, Thanks. You're also a precious person to me. After everything between me and Obito and Rin, you were there supporting me." Iruka blushed and heard the dial on the other side click. The conversation ending.

"Oh my Gosh it's hot! It's NIGHT!" the blonde yelled out bringing the brunette back to reality. Iruka slumped down, feeling a wave of heat hit him and sweat breaking out. It was hot. What the hell?

"It's only 80 degrees, it was 100 today." Kakashi stated giving them a faceless explanation.

"Dad, it's not too late we can go back." The blonde said as he crawled over to the tann man and gripping him for dear life.

This brought the man out of his own submission with the heat. He pulled Naruto and himself off the ground and proceeded to shake his son.

"NEVER! You're going to get the best education this place can offer and you will have friends and you will get married and find a good job so when i'm old you can take care of me!" Iruka shouted and smiled at the stunned face he was receiving.

The blonde looked on at his father, a smirk appearing on his face before giving his answer. Iruka had some nerve to run his life, but he would submit this once.

"I guess we have no choice but to brave this weather then." The blonde smirked earning a smile from Iruka.

"Don't worry you two. About an hour or so drive away is the mountains and it does snow up there. There are a lot of beaches and San Francisco is close as well." Kakashi smiled as he maneuvered the others to his car.

Twenty minutes into the drive and Naruto was out cold in the back of Kakashi's lexus. Iruka smiled at how cute he was when he was sleeping before turning his head back to the front. He rolled his shoulders and adjusted his sitting.

"Did you want to stop somewhere to get food?" Kakashi asked keeping his eyes on the road. Iruka shifted thinking about it. He was hungry, and Naruto would be too when he wakes up.

"Yeah, anything good?"

"There's an In-N-Out on the way to your guy's new house. It's pretty good." The man turned his blinker switching to the right exit lane to get off the freeway.

"Do you think Naruto will be ok here, I refuse to feel any guilt getting him away from Alaska, but I'm worried, he not use to making friends and what if other people try to influence him to do drugs or something." The man sighed. I just want him to be happy. Of course Iruka didn't think Naruto was unhappy with him, but he wanted his son to be truly happy. He wanted him to have friends, a girlfriend. Go out on the weekends and experience the true blessing of what it is to be a normal teen.

"I understand Iruka, I want the same for Sasuke." Kakashi grabbed the other man's hand into his own and gave ti a squeeze.

After stopping by a overly packed In-N-Out, Three men made it to what would be called home for now on. It was a cute two story house. It had a garage that could fit two cars and three large windows. From the outside one could see plain white curtains. The house looked to be a mellow light yellow. There were bushes of roses near the front of the house and a small white fence surrounded the property. The front doors were double doors and were quite delicate looking with their stained glass. Iruka was in love with the house, he could feel it. There would be great memories with this new home. The lights in one of the front widows were on and Iruka gave the silver haired man, who had been taking in all of Iruka's expressions in, a curious look.

"Asuma and Kurenai wanted to do a welcome party, they are visiting from Oregon and they heard you were moving here and wanted to surprise you." Iruka had a huge grin. Kurenai had always been a close friends since high school and throughout college, he had in fact met Kakashi and Asuma through her.

"Wow I have not seen her since Asuma and her got married." Iruka felt a bubbles of excitement. He had not told them about Naruto, At the time he was under a lot of pressure and then the whole adoption process, and when it was over he had been working like crazy trying to earn a decent living for him and his little blonde. He had lost touch with them and he felt a little guilty but the blonde boy had been worth every struggle. He smiled and looked at his sleeping boy.

"Alright that's enough of that." Kakashi said opening the back door to his car and shaking the boy awake.

"Whar?" Blue eyes shot open and started to look around confused. His eyes settled on the older man who was still shaking him and glared.

"You bastard!" Naruto roughly pushed the offender off. Kakashi smirked, feeling he did a well job done.

"Come on let's get inside and check out your new home." The man opened the back trunk listening to a jittering blonde squeal and start running around. How old was this brat again? Kakashi grabbed Iruka's and Naruto's belongings and closed his trunk. The blonde had pulled Iruka to the front of the house.

"Iruka!" A woman's voice sounded as one of the double doors opened. A beautiful woman with jet black wavy hair and stunning eyes that appeared red, appeared, she was wearing a long white summer halter dress, and her belly was huge.

"Kurenai! It's been so long!" The blonde felt a little uncomfortable as they hugged. Iruka had never mentioned anyone other than Kakashi as a friend. He was a little confused and felt awkward to see his father chatting away.

"Who is this Iruka?" The women asked after a few minutes, she looked at the awkward blonde.

"I'm Naruto Uzumaki!" The blonde said, not wanting to be rude and make Iruka look bad. He stuck out his hand to the women.

"Well, hello young man." The woman smiled.

"He is my son." Iruka blushed and pulled the boy closer to him. The women squealed and hugged the blonde in a bone crushing grip. Naruto felt warmth flood over his cheeks. Aside from Kakashi and Iruka and the occasional Grandfather other adults were quite rude or would ignore him.

"You never said you had a son Iruka, All I remember was that you were heading to Alaska for a few months and then you would be moving to los Vegas. Even Kakashi wouldn't tell me what happened." She glared at the silent man behind Iruka. Iruka felt a pang of guilt.

"Well, Naruto happened and I decided it best to stay in Alaska, but Kakashi called and sent me an application for the Uchiha's family main cook, so I decided to take it. Naruto had it a little rough up there and I want him to have a better life here." The women gave them a sympathetic look.

"Well if you guys need anything let Asuma and I know, we will help." Iruka smiled at her, even after all these years she was still the same kind hearted women.

"Where is Asuma?" Iruka asked. He had not seen the man yet.

"He fell asleep on the couch." The women pulled them into the new home embarrassed for not letting them in sooner. She walked over to the huge living room and there a rugged tan man slept. He had a scruffy beard and wore simple jeans and a grey shirt. The women shook him awake gently.

"Hey beautiful." The man said smiling at his blushing wife. He got up and gave a shocked look.

"Hey Iruka, It's been a while. No call or anything in years." The man said teasing his friend. The man's eyes landed on the blonde. Kurenai pulled the blonde over to the man smiling.

"Guess who this is!" The women smiled. The man smirked and put his finger to his chin, thinking.

"Cousin?" The man said playing his wife's little game. The blonde felt a little weird but went along with their banters. After a few more wrong guesses Kurenai finally gave him his answer.

"Nope! This is Naruto, Iruka's son! Can you believe it! He has such a handsome little boy, I bet your mom is beautiful!" The blonde flinched a little as well as Iruka.

"My Iruka, No wonder we have not heard from you, playing house in Alaska hu?" The man stuck his hand out to the blonde. "I'm Asuma, you can call me uncle" The man laughed, the sound rumbled and made Naruto feel warm.

"Well, Nice to meet you. Iruka...Adopted me ...actually" The blonde stuttered out. He felt a blush line his cheeks and the feel of guilt pool into his stomach along with a desire he had not aloud himself in months.

"What? Iruka birthed you himself did he. That's ok kid." The man engulfed the younger boy into a hug and gave a stern look to Iruka, We need to talk about this.

Kakashi cleared the air and changed topics rather quickly. He urged the others to give a tour of the house. It was nice, the kitchen was small and had a nice view of the backyard pool. Also had a nice view of the downstairs den. The den was already set up with two desks and computers. It looked like a lounge for students. The blonde had asked why there were two but Kakashi and Iruka brushed of the comment with "Later." Making the boy suspicious. The upstairs held the bedrooms. One master bedroom, and three normal bedrooms. There were two bathrooms and a half bathroom. The walls of the house were a plain white and their furniture seemed all to match a cherry wood theme.

After the tour all five of them sat at a simple rectangular dining table and eat their burgers. They chatted away and eventually sent the blonde to his room to get some sleep.

The adults chatted, it had been a very long time since Iruka had time to hang out with people his own age. Being a parent was amazing, but he had not allowed himself any relaxing time. He loved his son yes, but there were a lot of dark times and Naruto had developed a bad habit. Iruka's sole response was to be there 24/ 7 watching him and giving him love and support. Somehow he had made a breakthrough and then Kakashi called with the job offer things, were starting to look up.

"So tell us what happened Iruka." Iruka looked at his friend and sighed. It had been a long fifteen years.

"Well, I was heading to my job in Alaska, but then I saw little Naruto bundled up playing the snow. I just fell in love with the little boy. I wanted to take care of him. It was a struggle trying to get him, I was lucky to have Kakashi and one of the orphanage staff members helping me. Otherwise it would have been almost impossible to get him." Kurenai gave sympathetic look to Iruka, and glared at Kakashi. She was mad at the man not telling them anything of what happened to Iruka aside that fact that he was fine and had decided to stay up in Alaska.

"It's been rough, but I don't regret anything. He is my world." Iruka smiled, " I also see your pregnant." The tan man smiled wanting to change the topic, he didn't want to talk anymore about the past.

"Oh, Yeah! I'm almost due!" Kurenai blushed as she patted her belly. Asuma covered his hand onto his wife's smiling. They swapped stories of what their lives had been like for the past fifteen years. Kurnai was a kindergarten teacher while Asuma decided to be a college professor. They chatted well past midnight and their conversation was starting to die down.

"Alright we better go, we will be leaving tomorrow, but we will definitely come back to visit." they all said their goodbyes to the couple. A lot of hugs were exchanged and their numbers. Kurenai gave a final glare to Kakashi and kissed Iruka on the cheek for good measure. It was quiet now, but Iruka was happy, his life was looking up. He smirked to Kakashi, giving him the eyes before heading to the master bedroom, the other stunned man following close behind.

The blonde woke up feeling a nit nervous, he was here in California and it was hot. His clothes were sticking to his well toned body. He did enjoy working out in Alaska, he wasn't use to this weather and he wasn't sure if he would ever be. Getting off his twin sized bed he discarded his clothes and head to the bathroom that was kitty corner from his room. He had heard the low rumbles of chatter, he was no idiot, he knew about Kakashi and Iruka relationship, the man was as subtle as a gun. It made the blonde feel guilty that he was the cause of Iruka's struggling life now. Of course he liked messing with Kakashi and stealing Iruka's attention. Iruka would always put him in the number one spot.

The blonde turned his wrist over, there were red marks now becoming faint. He shivered as a familiar urge started down his spine and into his body. He was use to wearing long sleeves in Alaska but it looked like he would have to buy something to cover his writs here. He forcefully shook of the urge, he refused to hurt Iruka or break the man's trust ever again. He shoved himself into the chilling water and started to clean himself.

After his shower he air dried feeling warmth engulf his body again, he sighed and put a simple pair of shorts on. He dug through his bag finding two sweatbands and put them on. Not very appealing but they would have to do for now.

He headed down the stairs ready for breakfast. Smiling at Iruka who was fussing about the kitchen and cooking, he squeezed the man earning a small growl from the silver haired man.

"Naruto! You're wet." Iruka eeped but smiled at his affectionate son, he eyed the orange sweatbands, but said nothing.

"It's hot!" The blonde whined removing himself from his dad and away from the stoves heat.

"Turn on the Air conditioner then." Kakashi said pointing to a thermostat that was just outside of the kitchen. The blonde smiled and got up, he looked at the machine and switched it to on. A blast of cool air made its way through the vents and a small rumble of the cooler outside could be heard.

"Much better. So what's the plan for today?" Naruto sat down on the island with the other man. Iruka came by placing some kind of fancy dish in front of the blonde and a cup of coffee.

"I start work today, and Kakashi was kind enough to enroll you for your classes here. You start tomorrow." The blonde glared at the smirking man sitting next to him.

"I love you too boy." The man winked, the blonde gagged and felt sick. The sound of the doorbell interrupted the comfortable silence in the house.

"Can you get that please Naruto." The blonde nodded and got up taking a few cherry tomatoes with him. He made his way through the hallway and opened one the doors.

There standing was a very stunning person. He had a plain black v neck with tight black jeans. His pale skin contrasted perfectly with his black hollow eyes, the only thing standing out was a thin line running along his neck. His hair going along with the theme was black, and styled, he looked to be either Japanese or Korean. The blonde had just put a tomato to his lip before opening the door. The other just looked at him with no expressions.

" Is Kakashi in there?" The guy looked to be around the same age as him, he struggled to find words to answer this felt little weird staring at such a person, he was straight for sure but this guy, Dam! The guy was starting to lose his patience a twitch from his eyebrows was conformation.

"Dobe?" the other glared.

"What did you just say Teme!" Naruto found his voice and glared. The other boys eyebrow twitched in response.

"Is Kakashi in there idiot?" The raven haired teen glared making the blonde flinch for half a second.

"What's it to you asshole?" The blonde was petty, he could admit that, this guy was an asshole, so much for a good start. The raven was fed up and pushed the smaller male aside and entered.

"Kakashi do your dam job, you were suppose to pick me up." Before the raven teen could enter the kitchen he was pushed back by a ball of blonde, unsure of who threw the first punch they ended up rolling on the floor punching each other and cursing at one another.

"NARUTO!" Iruka yelled pulling his son up from the other boy. Kakashi came in restraining the raven male. They were now verbally abusing each other and Iruka was so shocked from his blondes behavior, that it took him a second to glare at his son. Kakashi on the other hand looked amused, it had been years since he'd seen Sasuke so livid, he even was fighting.

"Stop it both of you! How old are you guys! You're acting like little kids!" Iruka shouted giving both boys glares.

"Dad, this asshole started it!" the blond growled earning a smack to the head. The other boy smirked.

"You started it Dobe!" The raven spatt.

"TEME!" The blonde shouted. They both struggles from their retrains. Iruka was unsure how to deal with Naruto, he had never seen him so, angry, so ready to hurt another human being. In Alaska Naruto took to hurting himself, because of other people. What had happen to make his little blonde so ready to beat the crap out Sasuke?

"That's enough Sasuke." Kakashi tone made both Naruto and Sasuke freeze. Then they both settled to glaring at each other. "Sasuke this is Naruto, why don't you show him Sacramento?" Sasuke and Naruto both glared at the silvered haired man.
