Welcome back and sorry for the short chapter the last time. This chapter is once again in Ash's POV but also takes place in a time skip, two years after leaving mount silver. Anyways, enjoy!
Chapter 2: Satoshi of Legends
With memories flooding back into my mind, I walked down the streets of Lumiose city, dressed in a dark blue hooded jacket with a mouth guard attached, a black t-shirt underneath it, dark blue jeans, and black shoes. Pikachu was resting on my right shoulder as it usually did, while Lucario walked on my left with a confidant but wary stride.
It has been 2 years ever since I left Mount Silver. During those years I used my old gym badges to re-enter the Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, and Unova leagues, winning all 5 leagues in the process. During that time period I became renown as a battling legend, ever since I first reached my life long goal as Pokémon Master in the Kanto Region. Some even said my power matched that of the Pokémon Champion Red, despite the fact I've never met him, let alone battle him. Using the money I received as champions of the five regions, I was able to afford a small cozy villa (like the one you get in Pokémon Platinum version) on the outskirts of Lumiose City. One day, while relaxing in my villa after defeating the Unova league, I received a letter. It was an invitation from Scott, the Frontier Brain of the Battle Frontier. It read:
Dear Satoshi, I'm aware of your great achievements and recent acomplishments throughout the Pokémon Leagues. I would like to invite you to a specialized Pokémon completion being held in Lumiose City. I am also aware that you're not really dead, like many other people think Ash Ketchum. Please keep in mind that you still have the option to open your own facility in the Battle Frontier and become one of us you know. If you're wondering, I've not told anybody your real identity Ash so there's nothing to fret about. However I would like to invite you to compete in our competition. This competition will mainly compose of gym leaders, coordinators, trainers, and Pokémon Masters like yourself that've beat a Pokémon League before. However, be noted that all you're old friends and rivals have also been invited. I do ask you to consider this option, but in the end the choice is yours Ash. I hope you choose wisely and don't regret your decision, Satoshi. Sincerely-Scott
Upon receiving that letter, I rushed quickly to the nearest Pokémon Center to sign up. "Finally, a challenge," I thought to myself as I entered Prism Tower's lobby. Since the competition was being held at Prism Tower, I fully expected Clemont to be there, as well as Bonnie. My prediction was right when I saw Bonnie chatting with Max Maple, a young trainer from the Hoenn region and younger brother of May Maple, whom both I used to travel with in the Hoenn region. Clemont was meanwhile standing in a corner, programming Clembot to do... well... who knows what really? Assuming that his inventions didn't blow up in puffs of smoke anymore.
I eventually made my way to the main room where trainers waited to be introduced and matched up against other trainers, all in high spirits. Upon entering the room, an immediate silence filled the room as everyone stared directly at me without hesitation, some even blinking in shock. The only sound that followed that was that of a familiar sounding trainer asking, "is that really Satoshi?" As I made my way to stand in a corner, a blonde trainer in a orange and white striped jacket ran over to me in a heartbeat, bowed his head, and said the following:
"Mr. Satoshi sir! It's an honor to be in your present... I mean presence s-sir! I've watched every one of you league matches in the past t-two years and have b-been completely in all... I mean awe! May I please have an auto graph, and could you please tell me your secret to raising such strong Pokémon sir? And is that your Lucario and Pikachu?!"
"Barry, I can't tell you how I train, but I can most certainly give you an autograph. And yes, these are my Lucario and Pikachu," I said as Pikachu sparked it's cheeks and Lucario bowed slightly.
As I took the paper and pen he gave me and began to sign my name on it, the boy, Barry, suddenly realized something. "Wait... how do you know my name?"
"I watched the Sinnoh League while I was staying at Johto once."
"Awesome! He knows my name! He knows my name!" he yelled while running around in circles after grabbing the paper out of his hand.
"Oh come on! He's just another everyday trainer! I could probably beat him in a battle in minutes!" a voice said. A purple haired boy in a blue jacket approached me.
"Who are you?" I asked.
"Paul... and if you even think of battling me in the tournament, you're as good as done for you little-"
"Cut it out Paul and stop talking to him like that, or I'll fine you for a million bucks!"
Angered at Paul's mere presence, I turned around, hoping to avoid him for the time being. "Where do you think you're going? Coward!"
I spun around and looked at him, causing him to flinch in the deadly icy stare at threw at him. "If it's a battle you want, then so be it..." Lucario took a defensive stance as Paul smirked and sent out his electivire.
"Lucario, let's make this quick and easy, use extremespeed!" Lucario rushed off and disappeared, only to reappear behind electivire and quickly knocking it out. Paul merely stared in disbelief, as every other trainer in the room stared at me silently. "Looks like I beat the Sinnoh champion huh? Well, I warned you." A boy with light brown hair in an orange jacket quickly ran up to me, followed by a girl with big, dark hair, a tall man with green hair and eyes dressed in a vest with a green bow-tie, and a girl with orange hair. They all stared daggers at me.
"You're lucky, that's all," the Cerulean gym leader said. "If you battled me, I'd have beaten you quicker than you beat Paul," Trip, the new Unova champion stated. "All you are is a meanie!" yelled the Opolucid Gym Leader Iris. A few others joined the small group, also staring daggers at me. As Tracey, Drew, Kenny, Bianca, Stephan, and Dawn joined the group to oppose me, others quickly rushed over to my aid, which included Brock, Gary, May, Max, Barry, Clemont, Bonnie, and Serena.
"Leave him alone, this is Satoshi you're facing," a voice yelled.
"Yah, you're the real meanies now," another one said.
"Yeah, leave 'em alone guys," spoke out another.
"Maybe it's best if you avoided him until the competition. Spending any more time together is only going to make things worse," Brock said coolly.
"Agreed," mumbled Paul as he was followed by his part of the group into another room.
"Sorry about that, Paul can be a little grumpy sometimes," spoke Barry. "Now you know what you're up against in the tournament though, so I'll be seeing you in the finals then!" He said this with stars in his eyes and his head in the air, excited for the events yet to happen. I chuckled.
"I'll definitely be in the finals, but you'll have to be careful Paul doesn't get you out first for a chance of revenge at me." He quickly paled up as everyone began laughing. However, a certain honey haired girl wasn't laughing as hard, but rather, smiling sadly at what appeared to be her re-calling the past. "Are you ok Serena?" I asked.
She smiled quickly then stated, "I'm fine, you just remind me of an old friend is all. He disappeared a few years ago... And presumed dead... I'll tell you about it another time though... Wait, how do you know my name?"
I paused a minute, then said, "I watch contests and showcases as often as I do Pokemon Leagues, to find new battling strategies and attack combos. And wherever that friend may be, I'm sure he wouldn't want you worrying about him so much."
In my heart, every inch of my soul was urging me to reveal to her who I really was. She was one of the most important people in my life, but for the better of it all, it was best I remained silent for now.
