I grinned as Annabeth stormed over to him, steam practically exploding from her ears.

"Hey, Wise girl. What's up?" I smirked.

"My IQ. Your ego. I could go on." She sniffed. "Now, I'd prefer if you moved your skinny butt away from my locker. Thank you and goodbye." She glared at me when I didn't move.

"Well, what's the fun in that?" I said.

"Feisty."

"I've been told."

Annabeth's intense grey eyes bored into my own, as if trying to see my intentions. She groaned.

"Luckily I keep my other supplies in Thalia's locker."

Rachel Elizabeth Dare was my best friend and girlfriend. We met two years ago when I was an oblivious 12 year old, and we'd been dating since I was 13. Her fiery red hair puffed around her head like a beautiful stormcloud, and her eyes were like emeralds.

I wrapped my arms around her waist, pulling her in for a hug and planting a kiss on her cheek just as the bell rang, signifying that class was about to start.

As we walked to class, my arm around her waist and her arm on my shoulder, I could only think:

Today's gonna be a good day
