Clarion awoke to the feeling of cold lips pressed to the back of her neck. It caused a shiver to run through her spine and make her gasp. The sound of deep chuckling caught her attention and cause her to open her eyes and glare at Milori over her shoulder.
Wow, it was finally sinking in that she was married to him. Nothing was really different, but it was just public that they intended to be together forever. Well, maybe there was one thing that was different, but Clarion wasn't exactly sure what it was. She could feel this feeling all the way throughout her body. From her hands, to her stomach, and a down to her toes. It wasn't an unpleasant feeling, but it wasn't exactly a calming feeling.
Milori continued kissing Clarion's neck and slowly moved up to her jawline, and then to the shell of her ear. He whispered with his hot breath against the sensitive part of her skin, "Good morning, my wife."
Clarion moaned and the tip of her ears became bright pink and Milori chuckled, "I had no idea just talking to you would have such an effect. I should start exploring that." His lips ghosted towards her eyes and she scrunched up her face at the ticklish sensation.
"Milori..."
"Yes?" His arms wrapped around her body and lightly caressed her arms. Goosebumps suddenly appeared all across her exposed skin.
"Please-" She was cut off by her own pleasure rising.
"Please, what?" Milori's lips returned to her neck and he began to nibble his way down to her collarbone.
"Stop-"
Milori paused a moment to think over her request, but soon immediately went back to attacking her shoulder. "Hm, I don't think so, because you seem to be enjoying this anyway."
"I do enjoy this, but that's the problem. I want to see my sister before she leaves."
"Janet can wait."
"Milori!"
He climbed on top of her and pressed her shoulders into the bed so she wouldn't easily be able to throw him off. Milori smirked at her, and in return he received an intense eye rolling. His lips pressed to hers passionately and she could not help but to kiss back. Great, he was winning, but not for long if Clarion had anything to do with it. She definitely would not let their marriage start like this.
Milori's hands moved to her neck and her quickly formulated plan took effect. Clarion flipped the position so that now Milori was the one lying against the bed and she was straddling his hips. He stared up at her surprised. She spoke to him sternly, "When I say no, I mean no!"
"I bet I can change your mind." The sparrowman began to lightly run her thighs.
"Milori," she groaned, obviously irritated with his persistence, but slightly enjoying it. "I want to see Janet before she leaves, alright? I promise we can continue this later."
"Nope, we're both enjoying this too much to stop and you know it."
Clarion let out an intensely annoyed sigh and climbed off him and out of bed. She immediately went to the bathroom before her husband could capture her once more. The queen locked the door at the sound of Milori crawling out of bed and coming towards her. They were both still naked from the night's activity, but luckily she had a dress hanging on the door in there. It was golden color like most all of her dresses were, but this one was much simpler and designed to keep her warm in the cold weather of the Winter Woods.
Milori still stood by the door, "You're going to have to come out at some point."
Clarion smiled to herself as she slipped on her dress. Nearly half a second later there was a knock at the door, leading from the hallway into the bedroom. "Queen Clarion, I have some urgent news."
The Queen recognized the voice and called out for him to enter. A short sparrowman with grey eyes and red hair came inside. There was a thud against the bathroom door, signaling that Milori had been caught completely off guard when Clarion had told the messenger to enter. The sparrowman looked directly at him. This caused Milori to quickly realize that he was still ass naked and her suddenly scrambled back into bed so that the sheets would cover him.
She smiled to herself as she fixed her hair and and came out of the bathroom. Her gaze instantly went to Milori who was glaring at her intensely. When Clarion saw the messenger, he seemed worried. "What is it?'
"It's Queen Janet, your majesty!"
Milori instantly brought his attention to the actual conversation and then to Clarion.
"Is my sister alright?"
"Yes, she is fine-"
"Oh thank goodness," Clarion let out a sigh of relief.
"But..."
"But?"
"Queen Janet may be fine, but the fairy she had almost caused a mental breakdown isn't."
"What! Janet would never hurt anyone!" The Queen was obviously defensive over her sister.
"She only yelled at the fairy."
"Janet would never do that either."
"Well, the fairy is telling the truth, so it was thought that it was best for you to have this knowledge brought to you."
"You are very kind, thank you. I'll take care of this myself, if you don't mind."
"Of course, your majesty!" He bowed and left, leaving Milori and Clarion alone again.
Milori nearly exploded when they were, "What is wrong with you! I was ass-naked and that sparrowman saw me! What were you thinking?"
"I was only getting back at you for after all the things you've done to me today! Besides is you actually paid attention then you would know that his name is George and that he is blind, so he can't see anything."
"But, he gets around so well!"
"That's because he has this heat detection and so it would all be the same to him if you were naked or not. You gave it away though when you darted away."
"Of course I did!"
"Yep, that'll teach you, now I'm going to find out what he was actually talking about. You are welcome to join me, when you are dressed."
"I know, I've suffered enough embarrassment for one day!"
"We'll be in the tea room, when you are ready."
Clarion then left for the tea room, which was in fact her favorite room, but right now, that was not the point. She still couldn't wrap her head around the idea of her sister yelling at one of her fairies. Janet never yelled at anyone in her life, not even at the most deserving fairy. The queen let out a sigh. Maybe because she had not been feeling well last night, Janet had been irritable this morning and she accidentally snapped. If so, she wasn't the only queen that was irritated.
Queen Clarion's head was throbbing and she had to squint because it was so bright. She should have stood her ground and not let Milori get her another drink. The sound of pans falling from the kitchen made her wince as ringing began to fill her ears. Clarion had known that she had enough wine last night, but no her husband was too magically persuasive. That was one of the few things she hated about him. For now though, Clarion would deal with the symptoms of being slightly hungover. Despite how much she wanted to go and crawl back into bed, she needed answers on what was going on with Janet.
The queen came to the tea room and upon entering every fairy bowed to her before continuing whatever work they were doing. The tables were filled with a few fairies here and there happily socializing, but towards the middle of the room was a table. Seated there was a fairy who had appeared to be bawling her eyes out, or had been doing so. Her cheeks were stained red and her eyes appeared to be watery. This must be the fairy.
Clarion sat down across from the fairy, but she did not look up. A serving fairy came by and offer the queen some tea and she happily took it. The warm liquid soothed her raw throat, and don't ask why it was because we're not going into detail on that. Let's just say it has to do with the reason why Clarion and Milori both woke up naked.
The fairy sitting across from her suddenly looked up as Clarion let out a happy sigh. "Oh, your majesty! I didn't realize you were there. I'm sorry, I meant no disrespect. I- I-"
"It's alright, I understand. I heard you had a rough morning. If it's alright with you, I'd like to know more about it, to see if I can help."
"I don't mind, it's just that I don't want to disturb your honeymoon."
"No, it's alright. Whatever has caused you such distress should be brought to my attention."
"Okay... This morning I was bringing Queen Janet her tea as always when she visits. I also provided an extra teacup for Mr. Hyacinth, just in case. When I knocked at her chambers she was irritated. She grumbled telling me to come in. I did so and set the tray down on the table. Of course I asked her if she would like me to pour the tea for her, but then she yelled at me to get out. I did as she said, but when I asked her if she was alright. She yelled at me again and she looked so angry. I ran out of her chambers and came right back here."
"Oh goodness, you really have had a rough morning." Clarion took the fairy's hand and squeezed it reassuringly. "Everything will be okay. I'll talk to my sister and I'll find out what's wrong. Just know that it's not your fault." The Queen got up and left to go find her sister.
Meanwhile, Milori was finally ready to face the world and look remotely decent. His hair was combed somewhat neatly and it wasn't until that moment that he had realized how little sleep he had gotten last night. The migraine he had was intense and all he wanted currently was to be back in bed with Clarion as she sang him to sleep. At the mere thought of it longing filled his mind.
A sudden figure passed him quickly and it radiated anger. Milori looked up to see Janet walking past him, along with her guards. He called after her and she turned around to face him. Fear coursed through Milori's body instantly. Janet looked mad enough to kill him, but that's not what scared him. It was the fact that one of her eyes was a pale milky white and a very familiar one at that! The sparrowman stumbled back toward the wall as she narrowed her eyes on him. Milori tripped over who knows what and fell to the floor. He let out a jagged scream as pain suddenly shot through his leg and Janet disappeared.
Fairies came running from all different angles. Clarion shoved through them because she had recognized the scream quite clearly from the times when he would have such agonizing nightmares of Nefarious and his family. She dropped to her knees in front of him and brought her hands to his face as she brushed his stray hair from his eyes. "What happened?"
"There's something wrong with Janet- Gah!" His leg twitched slightly and Clarion looked to see it tangled looking. She moved to examine it, but as she grazed his arm she could feel an intense warmth across his skin. It was in that moment that the fact that her husband was hyperventilating and trembling came to her attention. This was like one of his many PTSD attacks, but he hadn't had one in months. Something must have caused him to relapse, but that would require something to remind him of it all. The only question was, what?
