Hello once again, everyone! SuperHeroTimeFan is back with another new chapter for Path of the Padawan! I've already got five reviews, three followers, and three people who have favorited my new story! Thank you all, Christian Jedi, KrautYank, AbandonedRainbow, Wolf2, Nega20, and even Logan GC for liking this story so much! It means so much to me, thank you! Now, without further ado, here is Chapter 2! Review, rate, and enjoy!
Chapter 2: A Place Called Home and Someone to Call a Friend
Metropolis January 8 1300 hours
Ahsoka looked to the children on the Team and squirmed a bit. "I'm sorry if I did anything to offend you back there." The Togrutan Jedi apologized sheepishly. Zatanna chuckled and sighed at Ahsoka's response. "You did nothing wrong, Ahsoka. There's no need to apologize." The young mage reassured the newcomer. Ahsoka grew a slight smile on her face and looked back to M'gann, the first who was acting friendly to her. M'gann smiled at Ahsoka, as did the rest of the Team.
Ahsoka smiled back, but then blushed embarrassingly. M'gann took notice of this and raised an eyebrow. "What's wrong, Ahsoka?" the Martian female asked concernedly. Ahsoka remained silent and reactivated her Shadow Matrix. M'gann's eyes narrowed at the Togrutan female's body and nodded. "You need some new clothing." Miss Martian deducted, in which Ahsoka nodded in response. Connor stepped up. "Why can't you just shift your clothing like M'gann can?" he asked in confusion. Ahsoka raised an eyebrow on her human disguise before asking, "What do you mean?" M'gann looked to Ahsoka with understanding and nodded. "You're not a shapeshifter?" she asked. Ahsoka nodded sadly. "I wish I were. That would make everything so much easier for me to fit into this planet." Ahsoka sighed. Aqualad stepped up and looked to her. "We can take you to our home. There, you can settle in." The Atlantean told Ahsoka, in which she nodded shyly. "Thank you." Ahsoka said gratefully.
The Team made their way to the Bioship with Ahsoka in tow. As Artemis and Zatanna got onboard, M'gann turned around to see Ahsoka looking around nervously and walking very slowly. The young Martian girl went up to her and smiled. "Everything will be alright, Ahsoka." Miss Martian reassured the young Jedi. Ahsoka gave a small smile before turning away to think. "Everything will be all right, Ahsoka." She remembered hearing her master, Anakin, tell her. That was until she was expelled from the Jedi Order and accused of crimes she didn't do. Ahsoka frowned slightly and entered the Bioship silently. M'gann looked to the Togrutan sadly and sighed. "I wonder what's wrong." She asked herself quietly.
Inside of the Bioship, Miss Martian showed Ahsoka the Bioship from the inside. "The Bioship is a living entity. She and I can feel each other." M'gann explained to the new girl. Ahsoka smiled slightly before gasping. Robin took notice of this and turned to Ahsoka. "What is it?" he asked in a concerned tone. "We need to make a short stop nearby the desert to pick something up." She told the Team.
Dakota City 1306 hours
The Bioship hovered over the desert plains of Dakota City as Ahsoka looked out her window. "What are we looking for?" Artemis asked impatiently. Ahsoka sent a glare to the archer and continued to look out her window. "I crashed here in a Starfighter. It is in need of repairs, and I need the materials inside of it." She replied curtly. Miss Martian stopped the Bioship. "I think that's it." She said, pointing to a crashed ship. Ahsoka smiled. "Let me down, I need to pick someone up." Ahsoka ordered. M'gann smiled happily and flew down to the Starfighter. Ahsoka walked out and went to the crashed ship. Kid Flash gazed in amazement. "Whoa, I've never seen anything so advanced like that!" he exclaimed.
Ahsoka walked over to the Starfighter and looked to R7-A7. "Come on, R7. We're going somewhere for now." The Togrutan Jedi ordered her droid. R7 acknowledged with a chirp and flew off from his spot on the Starfighter. Ahsoka and R7 then walked back to the Bioship.
As Ahsoka arrived back at the Bioship, the Team gazed in awe as R7 rolled onto the Bioship. "What is that thing?" Robin asked curiously. Ahsoka chuckled. "It's an astromech droid. His name is R7-A7. Only a select few can understand their language." She explained. Rocket walked up to R7 and inspected him carefully. "This is neat." She simply stated. Ahsoka looked to M'gann and sent a small smile. She was about to sit in her seat until M'gann pulled up a seat for her to sit in right next to her. "I'd like you to have the best seat on the ship!" M'gann stated happily. Ahsoka smiled and walked over to sit by her. "Are you able to pick up my ship with yours?" Ahsoka asked the young Martian. M'gann sighed. "I'll try." She responded.
The Bioship flew carefully towards the Starfighter as M'gann used her telekinesis to levitate it onto a cable. "We'll bring this to STAR Labs. The people there'll fix your ship up in no time at all." Robin stated. Ahsoka sent a small smile and the Bioship flew off.
Mount Justice 1313 hours
Recognized Batman 0-2, the computer said as the Dark Knight entered the Cave. He looked over to Black Canary and Red Tornado. "Where is the Team?" he asked as he sent his usual BatGlare at them. Before any of them could answer, the Team walked in. "We're back!" Wally yelled. Black Canary smiled as she saw the rest of the Team enter the Cave. It was then that the three heroes' eyes widened when they saw Ahsoka. The young Jedi Padawan looked all around the Cave. It gave her a sense of the caves of Ilum, seeing as how the place was wide and hollow on the inside. Ahsoka smiled as she looked around, but it soon wore off. There was a man in a dark suit standing in front of her, sending a glare towards the disguised Togrutan.
"Who are you?" Batman simply and sternly asked. Ahsoka sent back another glare. "I am Ahsoka Tano." She curtly introduced herself. The Team and the rest of the heroes watched the scene with great interest. Before anything could become trouble, M'gann flew in between the two and looked to Batman. "She's new here, and she needs a place to stay." The Martian reasoned with the Dark Knight. Ahsoka smiled at what M'gann was doing for her as M'gann turned to speak with her. "Batman's always like this. I'm sorry." Megan apologized to the Jedi. Ahsoka smiled. "I guess I'll just have to get used to it." She stated.
Batman took out an IV needle and walked towards Ahsoka. As M'gann and Ahsoka were talking, Ahsoka noticed the Dark Knight and gasped. Before he could get a sample of her blood, Ahsoka turned away to close her eyes and then sent a Force-push towards Batman. The Team gasped at what had happened, M'gann especially. Ahsoka backed away and panted. "How can I trust any of you when none of you can trust me?!" she asked in a scared tone of voice. The Team looked to her guiltily as M'gann looked to Batman angrily. "I can't believe you." She exclaimed angrily. The Team looked away sadly as M'gann accompanied Ahsoka away from the Mission Room. "Let's talk in the Lounge." M'gann suggested to Ahsoka. Ahsoka let out a tear as she nodded in agreement as the Team and Black Canary followed behind them.
Ahsoka sat on one of the sofas as M'gann pulled up a chair and sat next to her. "It was just Batman's fault. He didn't know that you'd get so nervous." M'gann reasoned with her. Ahsoka sobbed and looked up to the Team. "Can you tell us what's wrong, Ahsoka?" Black Canary calmly asked. Ahsoka held back her tears as she looked to the Team. "A while back, I was framed for crimes I didn't commit. Everyone, my masters, my friends, and those closest to me all betrayed me and distrusted me, after everything I'd done for them! I left them, and now I'm here." Ahsoka explained sadly.
The Team all looked down to her sadly after hearing this story. "You can trust us." M'gann reasoned, but Ahsoka nodded no. "I don't know if I can trust anyone! I'm so confused right now." Ahsoka sobbed. M'gann looked down to her as Ahsoka continued to cry. "I felt the same way before, about being betrayed." M'gann explained. Ahsoka looked up to her and stopped crying for a moment. "How about you spend some time with me?" M'gann suggested. Ahsoka didn't know what to say, but M'gann started to help her up. "Everything will be alright, I promise." M'gann reassured Ahsoka. Ahsoka smiled as she wiped off one last tear from her face. M'gann smiled to her and chuckled. "You really need some new clothes." The Martian remarked, in which Ahsoka giggled. The Team smiled at the now happy Ahsoka as M'gann dragged her out the door. "Come on, let's go shopping!" M'gann urged Ahsoka. Ahsoka laughed as the two left the Cave and to the Mall.
Happy Harbor Shopping Center 1318 hours
M'gann was having the time of her life as she and Ahsoka went throughout practically every store the Mall had to offer them. Ahsoka, being a Togrutan, had to use her Holographic Disguise Matrix to keep the guise of a human in order not to attract attention. To be honest, Ahsoka was actually having more fun than she had thought. Ahsoka tried on different shirts, skirts, pants, tops, shoes, and all different kinds of clothing until either she or M'gann found the perfect choice of clothing. The two alien girls were having the time of their lives.
Finally, Ahsoka decided on some clothing. For now, she had chosen a red tube top with orange matching long gloves, a crimson skirt, white stockings and dark red high-heel boots. Being a former Jedi, Ahsoka decided to choose some clothing that matched her Jedi attire. As soon as Ahsoka got out of the dressing room, M'gann's eyes widened with amazement as through her eyes, Ahsoka looked really good. "How do I look?" Ahsoka asked nervously. M'gann nodded with amazement as Ahsoka smiled. "Thanks!" she exclaimed happily.
Mount Justice 1325 hours
After Ahsoka found her new clothes, the two girls decided to get a hairdo. Ahsoka, missing her braid, decided to get a new hair braid, in which M'gann liked very much. After that, M'gann and Ahsoka walked back into the Cave all the way from the Mall. They were laughing their hearts out. The rest of the Team was training at the moment, so Ahsoka and M'gann had arrived late. As soon as the two girls entered the Training Room, all the males who were sparring with the girls stopped and set their eyes upon Ahsoka. As Artemis landed a kick on Wally, the speedster didn't seem to notice. Artemis rose and eyebrow as she looked to Ahsoka. The rest of the girls had also stopped their sparring and looked to Ahsoka. Robin and Wally let out wolf-whistles, much to the annoyance of Artemis and Zatanna. Rocket walked up to Ahsoka and chuckled. "Girl, you look amazing!" Raquel immediately said. Ahsoka blushed. "Why, thank you." She thanked with much courtesy in her tongue. M'gann tapped Ahsoka on the shoulder and motioned her hand to have Ahsoka follow her. Ahsoka smiled and ran after the Martian Female.
M'gann led Ahsoka into her room as Ahsoka closed the door. "What is it, M'gann?" Ahsoka asked curiously. M'gann smiled and sat on her bed. "I'd like to fix up your old clothes, if you please. I'll return them soon, but you look really AMAZING with the new clothes we got." M'gann explained politely. Ahsoka smiled and walked over into the closet. She threw out her Shadow Matrix and her old clothes as she soon came out of the enclosed space completely with the new clothes she had gotten. M'gann smiled as she levitated the clothes onto her bed. Ahsoka smiled. "With me and R7 on your Team, I'm sure you can't be beat!" Ahsoka claimed enthusiastically. M'gann laughed happily. "I'm sure we can! I told you we'd have a good time together!" M'gann replied. Ahsoka chuckled, which M'gann started to join in. Soon, the two were laughing their hearts out once again. After a while, the two stopped, wiped some tears of laughter from their eyes and sighed.
M'gann looked back to Ahsoka and smiled. "Whatever happened in the past, I'm sure that you're all over it now. You can trust me." M'gann said, in which Ahsoka smiled. "Thanks, M'gann, for everything." The Martian Female chuckled. "Welcome to the Team, Sister." M'gann replied back. Ahsoka and M'gann chuckled as M'gann started to get up. "Let me show you your room. It's nice to have another girl here." M'gann offered. Ahsoka accepted this and the two walked away into the halls. Ahsoka smiled at M'gann and the two talked for who knows how long. This is the start to a brand new, beautiful life. Ahsoka thought to herself happily.
