Chapter 2
Star walked in with a her head low and with tiredness. Zan looked up from where he was sitting, he gave a smile but she didn't return it.
"What with the cheery attitude?" he asked sarcastically.
"Nothing much, Zan." She walked up to the clone who was was now waiting with open arms. "You know that guy that came out of nowhere? I had to leave him to Vader."
"And you didn't want to." He stated. "I'm guessing that you want me to run a simulation?"
She looked up at him. Her eyes were as saying "do you have to ask?" She left his arms and untied her cape; dropping it to the floor. She tightened her ponytail and walk to the center of the room.
Zan was setting up a program so that his love can relieve stress. "Fifty droids coming your way, Star."
Star pulled out her lightsaber and connected them at the ends. Sabers activated and ready to fight. The PROXY units had transformed into rebel soldiers. Star throw her staff taking out a fifth of the units. She caught it and jumped out of the way of blaster shots. She her comlink sound. She hit the button on her forearm armor.
"This is General Star," she said as she sliced a droid to pieces.
"There is a young man that is looking for you." He sounded scared. "He said that he was ordered to find you."
"When will he get here, this man?" Zan asked, clearly also receiving the message.
"Soon, " he said.
"Thank you." Star said as she sliced her thirtieth droid. She turned off her comlink. "Zan, can you watch the door while I finish off these units?"
"Alright," he said as he walked to the door. "How should I welcome him?"
"The way-we always do to strangers." She sliced another droid.
The doors opened when Star was down to ten droids. Zan grabbed the guy, pinned him and started to strangle him.
Star could hear Zan yell at the stranger, "Who are you?" Knowing Zan, she could guess that he was bringing out one of the weapons he enjoyed using when close to an opponent, his dagger that was stored up his sleeve. Star was down to six droids.
She then heard something drop to the ground. Something...metal. She sliced the third to last droid then glanced briefly over her shoulder. Zan was on his hands and knees rubbing his face to make sure his jaw was still aligned. The Reed man had something dark in the grip of one of his hands. What is that? she thought as she sliced a droid effortlessly in half.
Then Reed took a swing for the neck. Zan lifted his arm and block it, happy that he had armor under his sleeve.
Star finished slicing the last three droids and then decided to watch the show. Reed had been pushed back and Zan was using his boots (which had rockets in them) to get out of the way while firing at his opponent.
Reed easily dodged and then there was a dark wipe that seemed to come out of nowhere. Wait...A whip? Star thought when she thought that she was second guessing her own fixed eyesight. Where did that come from? I don't even have a whip in this room.
Either ways, Reed had Zan's arm wrapped in the whip and had his face in the ground faster than the unaltered clone could see it coming. Zan, happy that he could take a punch, lifted his head off the floor and shock it. His eyes scanned the ground and a grin, a grin that Star had grown fond of, spread across his face. When Reed was going for another lash of the whip, Zan had gotten on his feet and swung his knife to Reed. Star had guessed that Zan would dodge once again, and he did. Star got bored for a split second because Zan dropped. As he was on the ground, he seemed to be curling his body in a ball...in a defenceless position.
She looked at Reed. He was looking at Zan's dagger, a smile was spreading across his face. He lifted if and she extended her hand. Reed's hand stopped in mid-air, not being able to move his hand. She starts moving to where the two men were. Star flings Reed to a distant wall, caring more about Zan than anything else at the moment.
"Are you okay?" she asked him softly as she helped him to his feet. He looked a little flushed as if he just saw his life pass his eyes.
"I guess, but the wind was kicked out of me."
"Go to the infirmary. That would be a good idea." She nudged him toward the door. But Zan smiled and leaned in and tried to give her a kiss on the check; she stopped him. "No not now. Not with," she gestured to Reed who seemed to look confused, "him here. We don't know why he's still alive. I guessed I should have killed him.
"Don't get yourself killed. I haven't been beaten like that in a while." He turned and left.
As if almost instant, Star run over picked up the man and pinned him to the wall.
"Who are to just waltz right in here and pick a fight?" She studied the man's features. Her eyes started to burn and she yelled. "Why aren't you dead?"
"So you remember me?" he said as he took his hands and slammed into the sides of Star head. Star let go and started of wobble about as if she were dizzy. "As for the reason for why I'm not dead, Vader wants you to train me."
"Lies!" she yelled as she lifted a hand toward the direction Jack was standing. He saw this and stepped to the side. Star
missed.
"What were you trying to do, Girl? Push me?" He then was thrown back and hit the wall. "What twisted world am I in?" he asked himself when he was on the floor. He was picked up off the floor again and was thrown further into the room.
Star's transmitter beeped with a red light glowing. She pressed the button and brought the receiver to her mouth. "Yes, Master?"
"I trust that the man that you brought to me has found you again?"
"Reed?"
"Yes. Has he told you why I hadn't killed him off?"
"No, Master. Just tell me what's going on! I don't like tricks."
"You are to train him to be a Sith," he informed her.
Star's world seemed to slow down. Train? Train! She was to train this excuse of life? She was barely getting to the place she wanted to be at without the extra weight.
"Why, Master? If this has anything to do with taking care of the emperor, I can handle it. This is what I've been training for-"
"It has nothing to do with that," Vader interrupted. "Star, he'll be an asset to other needs. Train him, or you'll suffer punishment."
Star exhaled. "Of course, my master." She turned off the link and looked at Reed.
"I told ya," he said with a smirked. "You should have believed m-" he started to cough. He reached for his throat if it would do anything. As he was hoisted into the air, Star came closer.
"If I am to train you, then you better keep close attention, I hate repeating myself. GOT IT!" Reed looked at her and nodded the best he could. Star then released him. "I will ask you questions and you better tell me the truth. First off you're name is Jack Reed. Second, you are not a detective. The only thing that kept you alive back there was the fact the I could feel your power. Something like the Force, but not quite. Now tell me," she throw him over and placed a foot on his chest, but close enough to his throat, "what is your occupation?"
"I-" he breathed, "I'm a bounty hunter." There was definitely something that he was hiding for her. She throw him to the nearest wall.
"Do you take me for an idiot? I've been trained to know when someone is lying, even in the most rehearsed ways." She walked closer to him. "Then again, it's hard to trust anyone. Lesson one, Reed, never any circumstances trust anyone."
"I'm just dreaming, Reed muttered.
"You're not. And as for a second lesson, get to know those around you."
Star walked away as Reed muttered, "What kind of world do I get launched into?"
