Lightning Strikes

I was quite pleased with the initial feedback that I recieved from you guys. I have to admit I was quite surprised and a little touched that there were already some metal gear and naruto fans who liked the idea of my story.

I can only hope to continue to impress you guys to the best of my ability and pray that you will continue to enjoy the story.

IMPORTANT: I finished playing Naruto Ninja Storm 3 and as such it presented me with a new idea. I am going to let you reviewers have your own say in what might happen with the story here.

The beginning is already predetermined but anything after chapter 7 I am open to any suggestions (Providing they are within reason.) and if an idea impresses me I will alter the story to fit it in.

SO LAY IT ON ME!

Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto or the Metal Gear series. I do however own this story so tough luck, everyone! MWAHAHAHAHAHA!

Now then I have babbled long enough, onto the story!

Raiden waited in the line for cyborg registration uncomfortably. Since their arrival at the departure terminal of the airport, a massive storm had appeared out of nowhere. Howling winds and beating rain accompanying the constant flashes of lightning and booming of thunder.

First the rain and now this feeling... I don't like it.

Raiden subconsciously held his family closer to him even as he spotted one of the wall-mounted televisions on the far wall of the airport.

Using his zoom Raiden was able to make out the weatherman's words based on his lip movements.

"Official weather authorities are unable to comment at this time but as far as we know this sudden storm has appeared and is isolated to the downtown area."

Downtown huh? In other words just our area.

"Jack?

Snapping out of his daze he met Rose's concerned eyes.

Smiling softly to put her at ease.

"Listen, this is going to take a while so why don't you and John go to that small cafe we saw in the foodcourt back there." He asked her, motioning with his hand back in the direction of the entrance.

"Are you sure?"

He merely waved them off, John already tugging eagerly at his mother's hand, the prospect of food propelling him forward.

It was hell trying to get onto a plane when one was a cyborg, even more so when there was a robotic AI that looked like the super evil cousin to Doctor Who's K-9 sitting next to him at the check-in counter.

As such, despite there being special written permission from Boris, checking into a flight as a cyborg with a killer robot dog and two high-frequency blades was no small matter.

"Are you listening to me Mr...?"

"Raiden." He supplied.

"Raiden? In any case there are strict regulations which must be maintained even in exceptional circumstances such as is with your case now-" The manager was cut off by Raiden's hand making a stop gesture.

Turning his head, he gazed at Wolf.

"Please make sure that Rose and John are all right, stay with them and keep them safe."

"You are expecting an attack?"

"Just a feeling... besides with a reputation like mine best to keep on the safe side."

"Word Play: Caution is more advisable... understood."

I really don't have a good feeling about this.

"Sir?"

Snapping himself out of his thoughts Raiden focused his attention on the man in front of him.

"He's being paranoid, there really is no need for this kind of behaviour." Rose told Wolf as she sipped from her cup of coffee.

The AI had joined them at their table, taking up a position next to John and playing a recording of a dog growling whenever someone got too close to the family.

"His logic is sound and as such I am obligated to continue with my actions." The Bladewolf replied. In response Rose let out a small huff of annoyance and looked away.

John on the other hand seemed to thoroughly enjoy the machine's presence, pulling faces and giggling insanely whenever Wolf's growl sent someone scampering in the other direction.

Rose turned her head around as one of Wolf's growls intensified. She couldn't see anything around them though that might provoke such a response.

And then he was there all of a sudden, seeming to have materialised out of thin air.

A man with a white mask. Covered in the most bizzare of clothing for any normal individual including a some sort of thick, green vest. Rose tensed as did Wolf when they noticed the sword handle protruding from his back.

It was at that moment that everything had gone quiet. Rose took a quick look around and a look of fear crossed her face. Gone were the crowds of people that had filled the normally bustling airport. In their place stood eleven other figures with green vests and white masks.

The same strange symbol adorned all of their masks and in some cases a strange red tattoo was visible on their arms.

John began to tremble and ran to his mother's side, hugging her tightly and burying his face into her side.

"Mommy." He whispered, his voice filled with terror.

The lead figure began moving towards her.

"We have finally come for you."

She quickly reached for her wedding ring and twisted the small diamond embedded in the centre clockwise once.

Jack, we need you!

Then she began to scream and Wolf leaped at the masked man.

"Excellent sir now if you'll just sign here, you will be free to leave."

Raiden replied with a thin smile and moved to accept the pen offered to him in order for him to sign.

His fingers froze as an alarm appeared on his optical implant. A very special alarm he had put in place inside of Rose's wedding ring. An alarm to be used only in immediate emergency situations.

He was already out of sight before the manager could even blink.

Hold on Rose! John! Wolf! I'm coming.

Using the full extent of his cybernetics, Raiden ran at full speed, if anyone were happening to be standing by they would have merely seen a gray blur for a split-second before it was gone.

He could see them ahead, the men with masks, their arms raised as they moved towards his family, Wolf growling and clawing at any who got too close, forcing them to jump back.

One of them kept trying to communicate with his wife.

Bastards, it's already too late for them!

It took everything he had not to let Jack loose.

Because if I do... she might not stop me in time.

He crushed the head of the first one by throwing a punch as he ran by him, his cyborg body giving him the strength of many men into the power of one blow.

Drawing his blade he decapitated number two before the others even had a chance to react and a third was taken down from stray lightning created by the electric field generated by his body.

One of the masks swore and began giving orders to the others even as Raiden beheaded a fourth.

"Neko! Son! Raizu! Get the portal open and transport the targets now! Akiba! Immobilize that dog-thing with earth! Do it! We'll hold this guy off!"

Raiden didn't know what they were saying and he didn't particularly care. He noticed that Rose had taken shelter with Little John underneath the table and she was covering his eyes.

And for the first time Raiden was finally put on the defensive in this little skirmish.

Two of them came rushing at him with swords drawn at a speed which shouldn't be possible for a normal human being without the aid of cybernetics. At their current speed, it was equivalent to two cyborgs with leg enhancements doing a fast jog.

Raiden quickly lifted his blade to block both attacks and was just as surprised when their blades shattered upon impact with his.

Don't tell me... they're not even using high-frequency blades.

Raiden smiled evilly and began to chuckle darkly. Faster than the eye could see he reduced the two into four halves.

Turning to face his next opponent he was surprised to be blown back by a massive ball of fire. Grunting in pain as he flew straight into a wall, leaving a massive crack behind in the process.

I don't recall seeing one of them with a flamethrower.

Looking up, he was shocked to see a mask forming different signs with his hands, only for a fireball to emerge from his mouth aimed directly at him.

Raiden dashed to the side barely able to escape the fire and was immediately forced to raise his blade in order to block an overhead strike from another mask. Once again, the blade shattered and Raiden immediately followed up by snatching one of the metal shards out of the air and gutting his attacker with it.

He could vaguely hear someone shouting.

"Sir, genjustu isn't having any effect, we can't slow him down!"

A reply was also heard even as Raiden proceeded to slice through another mask.

They're running out of men!

He thought to himself with a small amount of glee as the Ripper tried desperately to break through.

As he prepared for his next victim he was blinded by a burst of light.

"Sir the dog-thing is loose!"

"It doesn't matter we have the targets everyone, go!"

Raiden's optic quickly adjusted the optics and was able to see some kind of glowing blue circle in the floor. All of the remaining masks were headed for it. It was then that he noticed the limp forms of his wife and son hanging over the leader's shoulder.

Rage took him and he could hear Jack screaming for release, to be let out, to be allowed to bathe in the blood of their enemies.

I can't... not around Rose and John.

Restraining himself, Raiden ran full speed at the glowing blue light, not caring where it led so long as he was with his wife and son, safe and sound.

One of the masks stayed behind, trying to stop him, their blade raised when a roar was heard and Wolf leapt on him. Raiden didn't even flinch and continued to run past, ignoring the man's screams.

It only took a few moments to reach the light which was suddenly growing smaller, all of the remaining masks had made it through already.

He became vaguely aware of Wolf racing by his side even as he jumped into the blue hole in the ground.

It closed only a few seconds after they had made it through.

Wow, things got a little intense. Sorry to all those people that thought I made the ninja too weak or Raiden too powerful. Keep in mind though this is a guy that was able to throw a Metal Gear Ray like it was a feather and then butchered another Metal Gear with its own arm. I think taking on a few ANBU would be a walk in the park. If you still think he lacks the fighting skill then you need to see the videos where he fights Vamp in MGS4. I think they speak for themselves.

As for all the readers out there who are wondering whether there are going to be lemons in this story... for now: No

There is a very good reason: Fanfiction has been cracking down on a lot of stories that do contain graphic lemons even if they are plot-orientated. So in order to appease the fanfiction gods I will be a good little writer... for now.

If you guys are desperate to see a lemon, then let me know. If there are enough of you then I will consider adding one.

One more thing this is a Raiden story. Not a Raiden is Naruto story. Most of those types of crossovers don't work out very well. I hate them mostly because they make the characters too OOC for no reason or they make them a harem or godlike.

Raiden, while a cyborg will be injured. (I mean come on, there is no way he is going to be able to take on all of the shinobi... Tobi would crush him in an instant for instance... as he is now.)

He is not going to have a harem. (We can easily see from the games that the only girl he will ever love is Rose unless there is a bloody good reason... Sorry I don't mean to sound like this will turn out like Twilight.)

And I can only try my best to keep them in character.

So if you still want to read this... thank you! :)

Anyway remember that reviews are like cookies... or are you feeling lucky, punk?

Well, do ya? :)

See you guys next time with the new chapter: Whole New World.
