Day 2

The silver clock they have mounted on the wall of my room tells time, they say. It is ludicrous how humans use this tiny machine that runs on batteries to tell time. We, of course, don't have a need for this device they call a clock, but since Anna is bent on having us adjust to human ways, I now have a clock in my room. It says it is five AM.

I have spent the whole night tossing and turning in my bed. My mind races at the speed of a bullet train and nothing short of a train wreck will give me rest. I am exhausted from figuring out the various methods of contacting the humans below while keeping Anna and her henchmen in the dark.

Anna knows more than we think she does. Her mind works in ways the humans will never understand. She doesn't feel, at least, not yet, but she understands how it works, and she learns the way of portraying feelings to deceive humanity. She is skilled and she puts up a good front.

Foolish creatures some of these humans are. So foolishly stupid as to blindly trust us merely because everything we have seems to be superior to their world and its technology. Knowledge, if I may say, amounts to nothing if one does not use it for a greater purpose. A white elephant. Is that how people put it? As for the rest, they have been drawn into the huge lie that we are just like them. How we live, besides having obtained a deeper understanding of technology, how we look, how we are in general.

Haven't they been taught that appearances can be deceiving?

Then there is the minority, the select few that have been enlightened. Who knows how they have found out the secret? By traitors, according to Anna, or by another source. Nobody really cares about that. I included. What matters is that they know, and they are willing to fight against it.

Fight this change that will bring humanity to its knees, never to rise again.

I have no right to interfere if humans aim to exterminate each other through wars and silly grudges, but I am not willing to see my species being the cause of their extinction, and this is the reason why I must push on.

For my people.
