Chapter 2- The start of a new world

Pain...pain is the first thing someone feels in the absence of everything else. Sight, sound, touch, it all comes back to sheer pain. Rynjin was not sure how long he was floating in this...void of darkness, all he knew for a fact was that he was still breathing. He was quite sure that was something you could not do in the afterlife. Rynjin toggled through all of his mask settings trying to see if there was anything else out there, infra-red, night vision, light detection, motion camera, all of his various lenses meant for thieving did nothing, it was all just dark. This place, whatever it was, limbo, the afterlife, it could have been jersey for all he knew, it just seemed to drag on, until something started to pull at him from the front of his trench-coat.

This new pulling sensation seemed to accelerate a little at a time, till Rynjin felt like he was in fact a new human rocket, he could hear wind going by his helmet, and the feel the air rushing into his trench-coat. This sensation was odd; since there was nothing in the background to see, so it was like falling in to a pit, or being pulled through one, there was nothing to gauge distance or speed, just gut feeling. Then a small prick of light glinted in the distance, like a piece of gold on black cloth, it slowly started getting closer, then light surrounded him in an instant. Rynjin could finally make out bits of the building that he was in before this all went down, the lights, the desks, even the cheap walls that went between the cubical areas. Even in all of this light, there was still pain; it never seemed to leave him as he floated through this nightmarish wonderland. Rynjin thought about using the gas hooks to see if there was an edge, maybe even a wall in this place, some solid surface, he pushed the thought out of his mind remembering being pulled into this room. He floated for a bit, passing objects that populated the building, until that same unknown force pushed him in a random direction; it almost made him queasy having this force just messing with him, throwing him in random directions. He saw the objects fade into the distance, then more blackness started to fade into view, Rynjin tried to kick, swim, or even run away from the encroaching blackness, but nothing stopped him, most of it made him speed up. Then another large jolt of pain, it started at his fingertips, which were now slowly turning into small blocks about the size of sugar cubes. The blocks slowly started to pull apart from one another, then distance themselves heading towards some unseen area.

Rynjin's vision went red, the pain was immense like every nerve was on fire, he could not scream, cry, or even breathe. The blocks slowly started to spread up his arms, heading to his torso. He reached for his controls for his gas hooks, but could not grab at anything, not with these new blocks that were his arms, he was truly helpless in all aspects. It spread quickly to his neck and legs, not slowing down. This was it, Rynjin thought, this is how I die, in some sort of hellish world, being pulled apart by god knows what. Well, there could be worse ways to die. The blocks reached his mask, reaching inwards towards his face. His vision faded, even his hearing went, and it was utter isolation, however this time it did not seem to last long; it was for the briefest of seconds that this new torture lasted then...freedom.

Rynjin would have taken the odd place any day, if he has known that he was going to be thrown five hundred feet into the air, in the middle of the night no less. His mask came back online, greeting him to the sight of distance lights, the sound of wind rushing by his trench-coat, and a solid drop towards what looked like a large patch of farm land. First things first, Rynjin mused to himself, the front panel of the mask hissed as the plating that made the front of helmet slid back showing off Rynjin's face. He promptly vomited out away from himself, letting his bile hitch a ride on the wind. He spit out the last of it and let the panel slide back into place, with a light hiss, he knew it was sealed again. Now he needed to somehow stick the landing in the middle of nowhere...That was about how far the train of thought got before the cold hard ground decided it was time to say hello. Rynjin went limp, trying to minimize damage as much as he could, he bounced a couple of times, nearly avoided what looked like a solid wooden fence, then finally skidded to a halt in some short grass. Pain seemed to be all that he could think about; it clouded his mind, invaded his body, and just made life a bitch to deal with at the moment. Rynjin took a slow breath after what seemed like hours, and slowly rose to his feet; only to have himself collapse face down in the same grass. Amidst all of this, he had forgotten one major thing, the bullet that was still lodged somewhere near his hip, fresh blood pooled out of the hole just below his waistline. Rynjin cursed inside of his helmet, trying once again to stand, only to meet with solid ground again. He laid there for a moment, breathing slowly, and then his laughter started to take over, followed by light sobbing from the pain. This was how it was, he saved an old man, took down crooks, was a thief, but yet with all of his gadgets, upgrades, and even reinforcements to his suit he was still just a man. Well if anything he would have a great view as he died. The night sky glistening with stars, almost like a sea of jewels as sleep, exhaustion, and blood loss took him to a deep slumber.

Rynjin could get used to heaven, it was nice, cool, and it smelled like irises in a summer rain, it was quite nice. His eyes slowly opened, greeting his senses with a slight red blinking light, he sighed again, so he was not dead, he just passed out for a bit it seemed. He tried for his wrist to turn on his helmet power only to find his wrists were bare, he sighed again. Well he could always use the backup system; he took a slight breath and spoke.

"Helmet system, audio log on, RX-0452," he said in a raspy voice

"Voice identification confirmed, helmet systems online, power systems at 5%, most basic functions are offline," said a small drone mechanical voice

"Is there enough power to turn on the outside lens?"

"Negative sir, there is enough power to fully take off the helmet, or open the air ports so you will not suffocate, other than that sir, my functions are limited."

"Well I might as well take this thing off, if I am in a hospital they might try to pry this thing off me," Rynjin sighed as he spoke.

"Is that a command sir?"

"Yes unlock the mask, and unclasp it from my neck."

The mask hissed, only slightly letting the soft light come into the dark seal as it opened. The scent of irises flooded inside the helmet, bringing a slight smile to Rynjin's hardened face. He felt weak, and a bit dizzy, but he knew he had enough strength to get his helmet off. His fingers slowly tightened around the outside seams, in one smooth yet slow motion the helmet came free of his face. The lower collar of the mask unlocked at the back, coming off entirely, with the last ounce of power, the helmet folded back into its original shape, sealing itself one last time before shutting down. Rynjin pulled off the black head wrap that he used to cover his neck line to avoid the irritation of the helmet shifting. The soft glow of the room slowly flooded into view, he was lying in a nice soft bed, which he barely managed to fit in. His cloths, items, as well as his gas container were lying in a neat pile over in the corner of the room. With this added bit of time Rynjin felt that he could actually relax for once, he was not in any danger by the looks of things, the room felt warm, and his fur felt quite soft...wait...fur? Rynjin's eyes almost exploded out of his skull as he looked down at his chest; sure enough his entire body was covered in a light gray fur. The fur itself was short, and very soft to the touch, however since he remembered being complete smooth and pink last time he checked, this caused a bit of alarm.

Rynjin stumbled off the bed, hitting the wall on his left with a dull thud, he moved slowly to a large ornate looking mirror that hung from the same wall he crashed into, and taking a deep breath, peered into it. The shock that assailed his senses was not as bad as he though, his entire person seemed to be changed into...a large looking humanoid bunny. His nose was a small little pink speck, small whiskers jutted out from the nose, and his foot long gray ears extended off the peak of his skull. The one thing that did stick out was the fact that all of his scars, and injuries seemed to transfer over to this new animal body. The patches of fur were slightly discolored where the scars started, they darted and crossed over most of his upper and lower torso, the most significant one was the lower left side of his ribs. Years ago, a job had gone so badly that Rynjin had no choice but to sacrifice his lower ribs to get out of a near death experience. In doing so he lost 60% of his rib cage and had to have a painful metal graft put on what was left. Some of the metal had actually poked through his skin, giving him an almost Terminator robotic look. His hands wandered over his various different textures of skin, it calmed him, seeing his past on his new skin, like a story in a book, it was concrete, and could not be erased. He was so entranced by his own reflection he did not notice a small mouse woman slowly enter his room. She stayed near the entrance to the small room, and spoke softly; it did not matter in the end, Rynjin still jumped a little at the new noise.

" Comment allez-vous se sentant ?", the mouse said in a hushed tone.

(The marks are to denote French, if they are used in the future then it means that the language being spoken in-between them is French translated)

Rynjin turned to look at the little mouse woman, confused by the language she was using, it was not English that was for sure, however he did know a few basic foreign languages. He flipped through the folders in his mind, trying to find anything that could relate to French, after a few second of agonizing he finally found the words he was looking for.

"I don't speak the French very well, what was it said you?", Rynjin pieced together horribly.

The mouse woman giggled, she had never seen a true foreign rabbit before, his build was rough but well maintained, however his French was terrible. She smiled and started to talk in smaller easier to understand sentences.

"Well do you know where we are then?" She continued.

"I don't know where this is, I remember being in my homeland", Rynjin replied after several pauses.

"Well you are in France."

"I figured much."

The mouse girl chuckled again, the way this rabbit spoke was adorable in its own right, he was missing a lot of words, but somehow she was able to piece together what he meant.

"Thank you, for patching me up," Rynjin said while rubbing the back of his head in embarrassment.

"You don't need to thank me, could I ask your name at least?

Rynjin was taken aback for a moment, he had not been asked his name in several years. He always kept to code names and random inquires in the dark, not that he was against his name, it got people killed was the problem.

He took a deep breath and then sighed

"I normally don't tell people this mademoiselle, but my name is Rynjin, it's been so long that I can't remember my last name, or if I have a last name," he finished though a cracked smile.

This seemed to elicit a small smile in return from the woman.

"Well I am glad that you told me, my name is Adrienne Couin, I'm certainly glad I found you Mr. Rynjin," she finished a slight blush on her face.

"Well I don't know how badly injured I was, but I can tell you this, sleeping in this bed is a lot better than sleeping in my own personally made ditch outside," he said, butchering his French all the way along the sentence.

" Well I know a little bit of English if you would rather talk to me in your native language," she said giggling at his poor French skills.

"Wait...you can speak ENGLISH?!" he said shouting at the last part.

Adrienne laughed a bit at his flabbergasted expression, this man was rather interesting, despite the fact he had some sort of shady past, she knew that much. You don't really wake up in a field in the middle of no-where, especially with all of that equipment that was strapped to him, with an average life. She was lucky though, he did take the mask off, a task that she did not even want to attempt, the thing seemed to be bolted onto his skin, or so airtight that it was just not going to come off the conventional way. She moved a stray bit of raven hair out of her eyes. She thought back to when she managed to drag him into her home in the country. He was bleeding, dirty, looked like a mess, and it had taken her almost twenty minutes to take off all of his gear, especially that odd looking harness that was attached to his back and legs. After she had dressed part of his wounds she took a good long look at the bullet wound on his hip, she had not seen a wound like that in a long time, not since her father had a run in with some livestock thieves. She was surprised that during the impromptu surgery that he did not wake, only grunted, mumbled a few names in a slurred tone, and then calmed down again. Then there were the rest of the small injures, a small cut here, a laceration there, patches of bruises, she had seen wounds like these before, after all this was a farm stead, however the sheer amount of wounds was new to her. Scars were laced over scars, like a twisted rail road map; there were exposed plates of metal on top of where his ribs should be. Maybe they are a prosthetic? If so what happened to his original ribs? She started to pull herself out of her daydream just as Rynjin was squinting really hard at her face. She jolted up in a slight blush.

"Are you ok miss?," he said in a hushed tone

"Yes, Monsieur Rynjin, I was just lost in my head that was all," she said.

"Thank you again for all of your help, but if you have my things I really should be going sometime soon," he said as he walked towards the only door in the room.

"No Rynjin be care..." was all she managed to say before he tumbled to the hard wooden floor

"Well it seems," he said as he grunted, "That I am not the best of shape right now, I have not felt this kind of pain in a long time."

He was helped up with the warm hands of his care taker. It was nice having someone to rely on for once, the feelings in Rynjin started to come to his hearts surface. However in sensing this he buried the emotions down inside him once again. I can't show weakness, he thought to himself, weakness will get you killed and put people in more danger, it's happened before. He got to the bed in a few short hobbles, being helped by Adrienne of course. He got both feet under the covers with a slight grunt, his well built frame seeming to be hindering him in times of delicate motions.

"Miss Adrienne, I was wondering if I can ask a silly question?" Rynjin said slightly pained

"But of course, what is your question?"

"What is today's date?" he said with a slight puzzled look

Adrienne smiled a faint smile and went over to the desk in the corner of the room, she lightly laid a newspaper on to his chest, and he picked it up squinting at the title page. It said that the date was the fifteenth of September, two-thousand and thirteen. Well, there was a welcome surprise, the weird portal thing did not distort time, he just did not know exactly where he was, however everyone seems to be some form of animal. He took a deep breath and sighed. As if on cue, his stomach growled a large rumbling echo, he smiled sheepishly as Adrienne smiled at him again.

"I shall go fetch some of my famous beef reduction stew, you should be able to eat it no problem," she said with a smile.

"Thank you so very much for helping me, where I am from, most people..." he paused for a minute seeing her stop on the way out of the room to look at him. He coughed, "most people would have left someone in my condition on the side of the road for dead, or at least taken all of my gear and just fenced it. Thank you."

She nodded and kept the door open as she walked down the hall toward the kitchen. Rynjin flipped the paper over in his hands and started to read the headline. It read "Carmilita Fox, takes down international crime syndicate." The picture showed a stunningly attractive fox woman, standing over a small pile of unconscious crooks, holding out a badge and shouting. Rynjin chuckled to himself; apparently this dimension took it crime fighting seriously. He read a bit of the article here and there, there was some mention of past cases, or references to this Carmilitia trying to capture an elusive thief. He read through the rest of the paper, his French only letting him decipher only bits and pieces of the articles. He knew that the weather was going to be nice this next week, unless he was completely translating Celsius to Fahrenheit all wrong. The thing that kept popping back into his mind however was this mentioned "Sly Cooper," he name kept appearing in a few of the articles, mostly the ones where priceless artifacts had gone missing as of late. He placed the paper down when he heard footsteps coming towards the door. Adrienne opened the door holding a tray of soup, complete with a napkin and spoon combo. There was also a nice clear glass of water on the side of the tray, she walked over with a light smile and placed it on Rynjin's lap. The smell was the next thing that hit him, it was as if the room was a tangible thing now, where the smells seems to just guide the imagination, he was no longer in a room, he was in soup land.

"Adrienne this is too much, I wish there was some way I could repay you for all of this hospitality," Rynjin said almost taken aback by all of the charity.

"Well I live alone in this house, I sometimes go down to the outskirts of Paris, however it gets lonely from time to time, and it's just nice to have someone to talk to, even if you are a little banged up." She giggled, it was the kind of giggle that melted men's hearts and turned ice cubes to solid steam without having to bother with turning into a liquid first.

Rynjin turned a slight deep shade of red as he picked up his spoon and began to dig into the soup; each bite was like a bit of heaven. He did not know how worn out he was until half of the bowl was almost gone, after a few swigs of water he looked at her.

"Well I suppose you have a lot of questions to ask me Miss Adrienne?" Rynjin said patting the corners of his mouth with a napkin.

"Well just a few here and there, I just want to make sure of a few things, and don't try to lie to me," she said waving a vague finger towards him, like a mother would scold a child.

Rynjin held his hands up in mock surrender, "Fair enough, let it be said that if I can't answer some questions, you will have to take my word for that. Is that ok?"

After thinking a moment, Adrienne nodded

"Well then commence the interrogation."

Adrienne smiled a light smile again, an almost sad smile from what Rynjin could tell. It was a smile as though someone did not want to open a Christmas gift for fear that it would be socks.

"Well for starters how old are you?"

"I just turned 27 a few weeks ago, though I feel like I am in my mid 30's with how many injuries I have sustained."

"Where are you from?"

"I was born in California, in the United States, since then I have been traveling around, not really staying in one place too long," he said, that way the cops don't really have a warm trail to follow.

"What do you do for a living?"

He stopped mid slurp of the soup, "I can't really say that, but let's just say I am in the acquisition business."

"Like..." she struggled for the words, "A repo man?"

Rynjin chuckled a bit, "Yes, come to think of it, that would be an excellent way to put it."

"Ok what about all of your stuff on the table? Is that part of your job too?"

Rynjin glanced over at all of his things resting on the table, everything look organized; even the large trench-coat was folded neatly on the seams. A small flood of memories hit him, all of the gear that he built, bought, or just plain acquired over the years was almost staggering.

"Well yes most of the stuff I use is part of my job, sometimes people can be quite...hostile towards me, when it comes to what I do," he said calmly.

"So what is that odd thing that I could not take off your head, it looked like some sort of helmet, for biking or some such."

"Ah thank you for reminding me, that is a mask helmet combo of my own design, I could go over what it does, but I don't want you to get lost in my explanation."

"Well you could try, just because I am a woman does not mean I don't know a thing or two about technology," she said in a pout

"Very well, the helmet is a reinforced poly carbonate plastic, not only is it stronger than steel, but its lighter too. Inside of it there is a large multipurpose screen that wrap around all of my vision range, it has built in sensors as well as a few other little things that I have put into it over the years. The large looking lens is what I see out of. It's almost like a super magnifying glass, able to pick up details that I would otherwise miss on the go," he paused looking at her, she was actually not stunned or shocked as he explained the last part, in fact she was...interested.

"Wow so are you some kind of genius?" she said starry eyed

"No...no," he laughed, "I just pick things up along the way, pay people to help me pull the ideas out of my head and make it a reality, if I tried to make anything like this myself, it would backfire horribly," in the end though, I am happy that when I had the helmet made I talked over the phone with the man that made it. When it was all done I was able to swipe it and leave his payment in place of the helmet. No one ever needed to know who bought it, one less loose end I would have to deal with.

"Well it sounds very handy to have," she said as she glanced at the clock, it had almost been four hours since he woke up, and the sun had already set indicating it was late in the day.

"If you could though, there is a small port on the back of the helmet, usually I can charge it on solar power, but I might need it at some point. Could you maybe plug it into a wall outlet that is...if you have one?"

Adrienne rose pulling the blankets up, "Sure I can plug it in, tomorrow though, we need to see if you can walk around. You were really banged up when I found you out in the field." She walked towards the door and shut the light off, "Sleep well Rynjin."

"You too Miss Adrienne."

Adrienne walked down the hallway toward her very large couch that occupied 80% of the living room, questions racing through her mind. Where did this man come from? He said he was born in the United States, but he had no passport on him. The gunshot wound was fresh; however there was nothing in the paper or the news about a shootout anywhere. Also the small patch of field, where she had found him, there were no footprints or blood trails leading up to him. It was as though he had dropped from the sky. She had not heard any planes last night, so that was also a mystery. This man, this Rynjin was an enigma, wrapped in a riddle, coated with a Rubik cube. As a young girl Adrienne love to solve puzzles, anything and everything, something was wrong with the farm equipment, she could solve it. Someone in the family was keeping a secret; she could solve it, heck even most mystery novels were solved by her halfway through the book. This man though, she could feel...everything from him, like he was a vortex of sorrow and regret, however it was not making him weak, it seemed to drive him on. Even his body language showed that he was worried to be in this house; was it because of her? Or maybe he is not used to seeing or relying on other people just himself? The questions swirled in her mind like a tornado, she took a deep breath and laid down on the couch, the questions slowed down, the tornado stopped, and then she just relaxed. Finally sleep took her.

The following morning was a fun and interesting one to Adrienne, not only did she have a house guest for the moment but on top of that she had a reason now to cook full meals. Rynjin protested at first, saying things like, "You don't need to do this you hardly know me," or even the classic, "There is no way I could possibly repay you." Despite his protests Adrienne still had more fun in just that day than she had in quite awhile tending the farm. Truth be told the farm was in disrepair, most of the animals were either dead or sold off to the highest bidder, it was in a sad state. Rynjin slowly moved about the house taking everything in, he could walk, a few steps here and there made his movements almost lackadaisical in nature. He floated from one hand hold to another trying to keep his balance. He could hear the faint sound cook pots and pans being moved in the kitchen. He knew that she was unable to stop herself from cooking, but no matter how much he tried to dissuade her he could smell the exquisite torture coming from the kitchen area. Rynjin's mouth watered, when was the last time he had a full home cooked meal? The memory escaped him, he could not recall the last time that a fresh meal was consumed, he for one never really cooked, it was hard when you were on the move twenty four hours a day seven days a week. After what seemed like a small eternity Rynjin finally stumbled into the kitchen and plopped down on a rather solid looking wooden chair. The noise jarred Adrienne out of her small little world; she smiled and turned to Rynjin.

"So Monsieur Rynjin, how did you sleep last night?"

"I slept rather well, the bed you have is quite comfy," Rynjin admitted sheepishly.

"Well I am glad you slept well, I thought if you were feeling better after some breakfast, you could help me around the farm for just a bit?" She lightly batted her eyelashes in a jokingly manner

Rynjin gave a light sigh and looked at her, "Well it's the least I could do for you helping me, feeding me, and on top of all that, allowing me to sleep in your nice bed." He nodded in agreement.

Adrienne smiled at him and brought him over a small plate of eggs, toast, and what looked like ham, though Rynjin had never really seen ham like that before, after the first hesitant bite however he was tearing into the meal like he had not eaten in months. Adrienne just smiled a lovely smile letting Rynjin enjoy his breakfast, it was then after at least half a day Rynjin slowly started to notice Adrienne's features. She was short, for a human...mouse woman, it was still odd to him to think that everyone was now animal like people. She was wearing a small scarf that was tied into a triangle, hiding most of her dark blonde like hair; her small freckles highlighted her cheeks and made her brown eyes stand out surprising well. Rynjin had never really looked at another human...animal being this closely in a long time. Most of the time he had to deal with runners and smugglers, remembering just enough features that he could recall who he was working for at one point or another. After finishing the last bits of his breakfast, Rynjin just simply leaned back into the chair he now occupied, it groaned slightly under his weight, but he was at peace right now, nothing on his mind but food, comfort...and a need to get home. That one thought jarred him back to the land of the living, the dishes were already cleaned and the table was made back to its original setup. He must have passed out for a little bit, he thought, noticing the sun was still rising in the morning air. Adrienne was humming a light tune as she was reading in the living room. Rynjin slowly hobbled into the living room and sat down, lightly on one of the couches. He took a nice light breath and just leaned back enjoying both the humming and the atmosphere of the house. Adrienne, put down her book and looked over to Rynjin, her eyes full of inquiry.

"So Monsieur Rynjin," she said in a slow manner to get his attention, "What would you like to do today?"
"Well I am feeling a little bit better, I would really like to go into town today," he said as he slowly extended his legs to stretch them. Miss Adrienne's medical skills were quite good, better than his at any rate, most of Rynjin's minor cuts and bruises were already healing just fine, plus some of the pain in his legs was already deteriorating. One thing was certain though; he needed to get into town so he could start on these leads.

"Ok then," Adrienne said as she stood slowly, pushing out the wrinkles in her nice blouse. She stood firmly offering him a hand up off the couch. Rynjin took it hesitantly, to which Adrienne noticed at a light glance. She pulled him off the couch taking note of his dense weight; this was only the third time that she had to drag him anywhere. Just moving him from outside on the field, to inside the house was a heck of a chore, but it filled her with a sense of security knowing that he had not been dead.

"So may I ask why we are going into town?" Adrienne asked, looking at Rynjin's off colored green eyes.

"I want to check around for a few things and just ask a few questions here and there, nothing major," he answered, telling her the honest truth.

She smiled and nodded. "I left a few things out on the bed for you to change into; they were my father's so they should fit you alright." She beamed at him and walked down the hallway to her room.

Rynjin walked back to his accommodations and saw a pair of pants, which were faded green, along with a heavy button up shirt, not to mention a matching pair of faded green suspenders. He sighed a little bit and started to dress himself in this new attire. The pants were a bit baggy, and the shirt was a tad bit tight, however after putting on everything over his bandages, Rynjin felt whole again, he did not much care for all of the scars that littered his body, but then again, they were not going anywhere. He walked to the full length mirror and took a good look at himself.

Good god, I look like something out of a Mark Twain book, Rynjin thought to himself. Oh well, might as well make the most of it.

Rynjin stepped out into the hallway and slipped on his rather heavy looking shoes, they looked completely out of place with rest of his attire, however since the pants were a bit big on him, the hems of the legs hid most of the boots quite well. He slowly trudged towards his gear in the corner of the room and gathered some of his hideaway money that he always kept on him. He took a good look at the bills and noticed that they too had somehow changed to fit this new dimension. Ben Franklin for example looked like a humanoid bald eagle, while Jackson looked like a humanoid fox. It was almost unreal to see small changes like that. Rynjin shrugged and placed the billfolds into his pocket, he might as well spend some of his money to repay Adrienne for her hospitality. Rynjin headed for the front door and it opened with a slight creak. Stepping out he closed the door behind him and it clicked solidly against the frame. He looked down to see a rather beat up looking truck, a model that he did not know. It was faded red with small specs of brown coming through the paint job. It was an old truck, but the humming sound that was coming from it, showed that the engine was still cared for quite regularly. He walked up to the passenger side door and opened it with a deaf click on the latch. He climbed into the truck to see Adrienne sitting there in her "going out" attire. She wore a small handkerchief over her hair to keep it in an orderly fashion and she had a heavy looking jacket that looked similar to the one that was sitting in the middle of the two seats. She wore farmer boots on her feet, the kinds that looked like mud, dirt, and age had stopped trying to destroy the poor things and just let them do their business. Rynjin buckled up and lightly blushed at her as he turned his head.

"You look good there...Adrienne," Rynjin said

She smiled a warm smile, "Thank you Rynjin, you don't look too bad yourself in those clothes either," she smiled again and put the truck in gear.

"Well next stop, Paris."

Rynjin looked out the window as the truck pulled off the land, so many things were buzzing in his mind, and he could not make sense of any of it, however he was just going to go with what information that he did have and see where it lead him. One way or another he had to find a way back to his dimension or was it his reality. Rynjin rubbed his temples at the implications; he was just a thief not a thinker, so he was going to have to find a thinker to help him out.

-Huge Shout out to KyleReaver for his amazing review to keep me going. I promise that the next chapter will not take this long to post I swear-
