Arriving in StoryBrooke was a different experience for Emma Swan. She was used to the fast paced life New York brought her. Here in StoryBrooke it was different. A small town where everyone knew everyone. Where when you step outside, children are skipping down the sidewalk and people are sitting outside the local diner having coffee at 12:30 in the afternoon. Where sunny days were spent taking strolls window shopping and rainy days you sat at home playing board games. There was no scandal to be fixed or laws being broken.

Emma sits on her bed typing away on her computer when a knock sounds at her door. She looks up but her fingers continue to move across the key board. She looks down at her computer finishing the email before pulling off her glasses and standing up, walking towards the door. She opens it and August pushes through as soon as she does.

"You don't wait for invitation much do you?" Emma says, and August sets a coffee cup down by the side table.

"Fresh from granny's diner." He pauses before looking up at her. "Working early." August comments looks across the hotel bed at Emma's work spread out across it.

"More like late. I didn't sleep I had to much work to do." Emma picks up the coffee and takes a drink. "Hmm." She gives a groan of approval before taking another drink.

"Well get dressed we are going out on the town." August says picking up some clothes and tossing them on the bed. "Your apartment was so clean, but you don't look like the neatest person to ever live." August says looking around at the spread out clothes and wrappers from random snacks Emma consumed during the night.

"I had- have a house keeper." Emma says and August shakes his head. "And we just got here yesterday, obviously it's not going to be perfect in here."

"Doesn't just getting here give you more reason to be clean?" August questions and Emma rolls her eyes "Well hurry up, you have questions and I have answers." August leaves the room and Emma sets her coffee down.

"I'm not dirty." Emma mumbles and starts to change her clothes. Emma doesn't remember a time she was just in jeans and black T-shirt and her favorite red leather jacket. She throws on some boots and makes her way down to where August is waiting on her.

"You look nice." August says and Emma looks at him.

"Not to dirty I hope." Emma quips back.

"Funny." August says and they start walking. Emma walks along side August and looks at her surroundings.

"So where exactly are my parents?" Emma asks as she watches a couple walk their dog across the street.

"They are here." August says.

"So you are taking me to see them?" Emma asks and August shrugs.

"I could, but they wouldn't remember you." Emma turns her head and looks at him.

"What do you mean?"

"They have a small bout if amnesia." August says and Emma takes a sip of her coffee.

"We're they in a car accident or something?" Emma asks.

"Or something." August answers crossing the street and into granny's dinner.

"Regina." August nods his head as he walks by the mayor.

"August. I didn't realize you would be back so soon. And with company no less." Regina looks at Emma with a disapproving glare before looking back at August.

"Just an old friend visiting." August smiles and Regina nods her head.

"Very good then." Regina continues her walk and Emma watches her for a minute before looking at August.

"Friendly." Emma says sarcastically, raising her eyebrows.

"Don't mind Regina. Being mayor can be stressful." August opens the door to granny's diner and Emma walks through the door. She takes in the diner and almost feels envy. She wishes she grew up in a place like this. It was warm and inviting. The people seemed friendly, and the food smelled great. She was an army brat. She moved from place to place, ate MREs and, dealt with some less than friendly people.

"Hey Henry." Emma hears August say before she turns around to see a little boy who couldn't be more than 6, siting at the breakfast bar, reading a large oversized book.

"Hey! August! You're back!" Henry leans to the side and hugs August's mid section before turning back to his book.

"You betcha buddy, and look who I found." August nods his head towards Emma.

"You found her!" Henry exclaims and jumps off his stool. "I'm Henry!" Henry sticks out his hand and Emma looks at August before pulling off her glove and taking Henry's hand.

"Nice to meet you kid." Emma pulls her hand away before looking at August.

"Henry here is going to help us get your parents memory back." August places a hand on Henry's shoulder and Henry beams up at him proudly.

"Does he have a secret medical degree I don't know about." Emma says looking down at the boy who's smile is a little less bright.

"You didn't tell her..?" Henry turns slightly towards August.

"I didn't have a chance." August picks up Henry's bag and shuts the book he was reading. "But we were just headed to do that so come join us." August hands Henry the book and slings the bag over his shoulder.

"You're shorter than I thought you were going to be." Henry comments as he slides off his stool.

"Look whose talking." Emma says looking down at Henry.

"I'm 8 what's your excuse?" Henry says before walking out of the diner. Emma looks up at a grinning August who gestures his hand towards the door. Emma scowls at him before storming out of the diner.

"So you actually want me to believe that my parents are fairytale characters who forgot they were fairytale characters, and I'm their only hope to remembering that they are fairytale characters?" Emma repeats back as slowly as possible. They all stand on the docks trying to get as much privacy as possible.

"Yes." August and Henry both respond.

"Yea, I'm going to go." Emma turns around and starts to walks away.

"Emma, wait!" August stands up and chases after her. "Emma."

"What is wrong with you? It's one thing for the kid to have this crazy idea, but you?" Emma whips around and glares at him.

"You think I want to believe this? It's insane; but it's true." Emma shakes her head.

"You had me convinced I was going to meet my parents. I jumped on the 'find my parents' band wagon. I have parents. The sweetest parents. Parents that make me my favorite cake on my birthday even when I haven't spoken to them in years. I shouldn't have come here. I don't need them, you, or this." Emma storms off and August sighs before looking back at Henry.
