2. Worrywart
Green had been slightly worried for Red (okay, more than that) ever since she had disappeared off the face of the world. He knew that she would be safe – she was strong. She was the only person he had never won against. All of her party members were unbelievably powerful, especially her first partner, Pikachu.
When he had gone to the summit of the mountain with Lyra and found her, he had felt relief wash over him.
Only to dissipate when he saw how thin and sallow she had become. Her originally pale skin was now tinted blue, and her eyes had bags under them.
He wanted to stop the two girls' battle, but as a trainer himself he prevented himself from doing so. Instead, as soon as they had finished he rushed over to her side.
The small (but powerful) yellow mouse screeched angrily when he instinctively hugged her. He ignored it.
"What was the last thing you ate?" he interrogated her.
She looked away guiltily, hiding her eyes behind her trademark cap.
"An Oran berry…?"
His eyelid twitched. "When was that, exactly?"
Opening her palm, she counted on her fingers. "One, two, three days ago?"
He sighed through his nose. "What would you do without me?"
She simply smiled.
Lyra had been tactful and gone outside. Pikachu, not so much. Angry that his mistress had been snatched away, he sent a tiny current of static electricity through the gym leader.
"Yowch!" he exclaimed.
She smiled again.
