It's finally here, while not as long as the prologue (and far less explanatory) this chapter does introduce the staple skill of the 'Life is a Game' Plotline [Observation] This to be utterly honest totally hax bullshit skill is a staple of these stories and it's easy to see why! It allows you to be far more creative as a writer as not only do you have to come up with a name for NPC characters... but you also have to give them backgrounds and histories later on!
However a Warning, Canon is given a strong dose of Fuck Off! in this chapter and you'll begin to see some of the changes later on in the story!

Naruto hears a cough and turns to see Fate standing there "You've finished the Tutorial Naruto, now it's time for you to make a choice"

"What do you mean? What choice?" Naruto asked Fate
Fate shook her head slightly 'He might of gotten smarter, but he still forgot what he asked me only three hours ago' out loud she said "I believe you asked me for a way to give you some 'Companions' right? The choice is who you can take back with you and before you ask no you can't take back Sakura, Sasuke, Iruka, the Sandaime, Tsunade, Jiraiya or any of the Jounin Senseis.
Naruto blushed as he remembers what he asked Fate to do "Right… is there a list of those I can take back, I could name some but I want to know how strong they are in game terms first"
Fate grinned widely "I knew you had a brain in their somewhere, here is the list. You can take back:
Ino Yamanaka, Hinata Hyūga, Shikamaru Nara, Yakumo Kurama, Rock Lee, Shino Aburame, Neji Hyūga, Tenten, Chōji Akimichi and Kiba Inuzuka
"However, you can only take five of them back!" Fate warned Naruto in a serious tone of voice.
Naruto silently sat down on the ground and started to ponder his choices, he'd though of immediately going for Neji, Shikamaru and Kiba. But after a few moments of thought he asked a question that had bugged him since Fate stated the list of candidates "Who is Yakumo Kurama?"
Fate coughed lightly before she replied "She is a DLC character that you happened to run into while traveling through Konoha in your childhood"
Naruto tilted his head to the side in confusion "What's DLC?"
Fate's head snapped up as she heard that and she cursed softly before replying "Sorry, Naruto. I had forgotten you didn't know anything about Video Games. DLC is a form of Expansion, however it is often smaller and less intensive then a full Expansion. For example your game actually has two expansions so far, The Highschool DxD one and the Shippuden Expansion, which gives you the storyline that happened after a certain event, that I won't tell you about. Either way it added around four to eight months of 'game-play' to your world, as well as some features like crafting and non-linear game-play. DLC on the other hand only give you between a day to a weeks worth of game-play. You have one DLC currently, the Naruto Filler and Movie Arc DLC"
"Okay?" Naruto said/asked as he tried to figure out what Fate had just said.
Fate shook her head in exasperation, 'it seems that Naruto cannot comprehend what I just said, no surprise the fourth wall is hard to break' Out loud however she said "It doesn't matter at this point in time, you'll figure it out as you play. For now you still have a choice to make, so what is your answer?"
Naruto frowned for a moment, before a genius idea occurred to him and he asked "Can I see their Statistics or Character Screen first?"
Fate smiled widely 'So there IS a brain in there somewhere, even with that bright moment before I had my doubts' She replied with "Yes, you can Naruto. Good thinking"
Fate waved her right hand and a large orange screen appears to the right with ten profiles on it, unlike Naruto's however they each have a portrait of the person they are detailing to the right of the name.

Naruto sighed as he looked over at the images of all of his possible companions, although he hated it he had to be very logical and cold here.
Kiba and Chōji were out right from the gate, Kiba was just too unsubtle and Chōji could easily be recruited in the Academy.
Ino is still a possibility, her Mind Jutsus would be immensely useful.
Hinata is definitely in, she was already stalking him when the academy started so it wouldn't be too strange for her to follow him around.
Shino was out, his logical nature would be useful, but Naruto got the creeps from his silent nature. At least Shikamaru groaned about his mother being annoying.
On that note, Shikamaru is in, definitely, Naruto knew immediately that he'd need someone capable of abstract thought in order to explain some of the more complex mechanics of the game to him.
…
There was a time when he wouldn't know what most of the words he'd been thinking meant, Naruto still wondered what 'abstract' meant but knew how to use in context.
Yakumo was in, her inclusion would have minimal effect on his knowledge of the future… Naruto hoped so anyway.
Neji was out right from the start, his befriending of Naruto would raise far too many flags with the authorities.
Tenten however was in, she was at the same Orphanage as Naruto when she was younger.
Finally Rock Lee was totally out, if just his mind came back he'd be next to useless for some time as he would have to train back to his original level of physical perfection.
That and he was about as subtle as a crate full of Mark V Explosive seals being given to the Raikage with 'Burn and Die' written on the crate with his full name, the Hyūga Clan's Sigil and his village allegiance next to it.
Naruto just knew that was hypocrisy, but he at least admitted it.
Naruto sighed once again and then turned to Fate "I've made my choices"
Fate nodded solemnly "Who"
Naruto psyched himself up and began
"First, Yakumo Kurama. I never really met her in my last life and it should mean that my friendship with her shouldn't be too suspicious"
Fate nodded both to the choice and the reasoning behind it.
"Second, Hinata. Hinata was constantly following me around at a distance in the academy and as such it wouldn't look weird if she did speak to me"
Fate raised and eyebrow 'So he is still unaware that Hinata has a crush on him'
"Third, Shikamaru. I need a strategist and someone who can actually figure out this 'game' he's the best I know"
Fate simply shrugged, she was expecting this.
"Fourth, Tenten. We were both in the same orphanage and she would often take the time to play with me when I was younger, so us 'reconnecting' shouldn't be too strange"
Fate was surprised at this, Naruto hadn't even mentioned Tenten's weapons skill.
"Lastly, Ino. I know that we were never the best of friends and that she preferred Sasuke over me, but her skills and abilities make her invaluable to both myself and the rest of my little group"
Fate nodded with Naruto's choices and smiled sadly at him "It must have been hard for you to have to choice logically especially when it involved your friends and former class-mates"
Naruto nodded softly and blinked back a tear "It just doesn't feel right"
Fate put her hand on Naruto's shoulder "That's a good thing Naruto, it means you're still human" Naruto just nodded, he wasn't in the mood to be placated.
Fate removed her hand from Naruto's shoulder and then walked to a clear spot in the room, she waved her hand and suddenly the five companions Naruto had chosen appeared in front of her.
Naruto perked up and smiled "Hey Shika and girls, I guess you'd like to know whats going on huh?"
Ino having regained her mental bearings quickly immediately snapped back "Of course Naruto, what the hell is going on"
Naruto inwardly winced, this was going to be difficult "You see, it's kinda like this…" Naruto then went on to explain his defeat and death at Sasuke's hands, then Fate's appearance and his second chance of life with Fate offering explanations and expansions on what Naruto had said where necessary, which was immediately followed up with an explanation of what a video game was and the entire group going through the Tutorial with Naruto guiding them through it all.
It was approximately three hours later when Naruto finished his explanation and the group finished the Tutorial "…So now we have to go back and repeat the Academy, graduate as Shinobi… again and find a way to change the future. Any questions?"
Shikamaru shook his head and groaned slightly "Man, this is going to be troublesome. Going through the Academy again"
Naruto smirked "At least you now know everything that's being taught and you can just breeze through!"
Shikamaru nodded to Naruto, he had a point. Then Shikamaru grinned evilly "Can you imagine Sasuke's face if I were to effortlessly beat him at everything?"
Naruto, Hinata, Tenten and Ino all nodded in unison, an image of Sasuke's enraged and jealous visage crossing their minds simultaneously. Yakumo simply shrugged, she had never gone to the Academy and therefore didn't know Sasuke.
Ino then sighed "Much as I hate to say it, I just can't prefer Sasuke now that I know he tried to kill a fellow Konoha Shinobi. I mean I might be slightly shallow and vain"
'Slightly shallow and vain?' Was the simultaneous thoughts of Naruto, Hinata, Shikamaru, Tenten, Yakumo and Fate.
Ino ignored their disbelieving looks and continued "But even I can't like a guy when he does something like that, no matter how hot and rich he might be!"
Naruto and Shikamaru just nodded silently, they knew better then to say something they would regret.
Hinata kept quiet out of respect for Ino, that and she wasn't confident enough to actually argue with Ino in the first place.
Yakumo just raised an eyebrow in apathy, she wasn't all that interested in this anyways. 'Who was this Sasuke prick they were talking about?' Was the thought crossing her mind constantly.
Tenten wasn't bothered by any of this, she got to be with her honorary little brother again, she'd thought Naruto had looked familiar when she first saw him.
Fate clapped her hands together to get the six Shinobi's attention "As interesting as this all is, it's time for you to continue with your journey. Good luck all of you" Fate without any preamble then walked up to the main menu and hit the 'New Game +' button.

Returning to life as a game character was an unexpected event, all Naruto and his companions remembered was a swirl of light, everything going dark and then waking up in their beds.
As six year olds, the boys simply shrugged and got on with getting ready for their (second) first day of Academy. The four girls however all gained horror struck looks on their six and seven year old faces, they had realized that they would have to go through Puberty and the 'Talk' all over again 'Kami kill me now' was the simultaneous prayer from the four girls.
Unfortunately for them Kami was busy turning the pages of a particular orange covered book that Fate had given her to read when they prayed and she was too… preoccupied to notice their prayers.
It didn't take long for the five Shinobi (in training) to meet up again at the gates of the Academy.
Naruto raised a hand to greet the others and was about to call out when a Quest appeared with a short explanation.
You have activated a new quest, Companions will receive Exp and Ryo for completing objectives as well. However the Primary Objectives must be completed by you.

Naruto blinked and mouthed 'You all saw that right?'
Tenten, Ino, Shikamaru and Hinata all nodded in answer.
"If you were referring to the Quest that just appeared in front of me, then yes I saw it too" Yakumo sent to the other five.
Naruto mentally face-palmed "I forgot that we could speak with our minds!"
"Geez Naruto, all that extra intelligence and you're still the same old troublemaker that you were the first time we went to the Academy, Troublesome" Shikamaru's deadpan response came loud and clear.
Ino snorted across the link, while her face didn't even twitch despite her evident emotions "If Naruto ever changed completely the world would probably end, he might be an idiot at times. But that's saved his and our asses on several occasions" Naruto's defeat of Shukaku was one of the major incidents that crossed everyone's (except Yakumo's) mind.
Naruto whined amusingly at the teasing before he sent "Come on, we'd better get started. Yakumo I'm going to try something. Tell me if it works?"
Yakumo's mental voice immediately came back "Try something? Like what? What are you… Oh, Oh my. Nice, That's awesome Naruto. I can use all your senses to experience the Academy. It does feel weird though"
The entire group sans Naruto froze for a second as they realized what Naruto had done, he had allowed Yakumo to use his senses.
Something that could and would have incredible use, especially for a Shinobi.
Naruto in a rare burst of understanding knew why his friends and companions had gone silent and sent "Now before all of you go crazy over this new ability, only I can do it and only to someone who is a Companion or in my Party/Team. But it's really useful for letting Yakumo learn the Academy Curriculum Dattebayo!"
Shikamaru just sighed "Only you Naruto, only you would solve a problem that has plagued Shinobi for years and then completely miss what it's useful for. At the very least you'll be able to send back what you can see, hear and smell should you be abducted at any point"
Naruto simply replied with "Huh, I didn't think of that"
The sound of five people simultaneously face-palming was heard not only over the mental link, but throughout Konoha.
Although no-one but the Hokage was aware of who was doing it and the Hokage didn't really care, he had paperwork to do.
Then the next shock hit the temporally displaced Gamer and his party.

'You've got to be kidding me, Sasuke/-Kun/Teme is a Girl?' Naruto sighed "Fate said there would be changes, but I wasn't expecting this!"
Ino casually inspected the new Uchiha (One that appeared to come with 60% less Arrogant Emo Assholeness) and smiled.
Uchiha Satsuki was dressed in very similar clothing to the Sasuke the Party was used to, however her shirt was black rather then blue and the Uchiha Fan symbol was smaller and on her right arm instead. The visible signs of a Kunai/Shuriken Pouch and what looked like a thigh dagger sheath showed that this was a very different person to the Uchiha they knew.
And yet, none of them were really bothered by this.
Unbeknownst to the Party however was that their parents (or the Hokage in Naruto's Case) were well aware something was up, especially as the children were acting like some what experienced Genin Shinobi and Kunoichi doing preliminary observations on their surroundings.
Speaking of which.

A pop-up appeared in front of Naruto, who selected it with just a thought (having practiced earlier as he was preparing for the Academy, he knew that it would strange if he was constantly tapping thing air)

Naruto sent the mental impression of a shrug back "And? We're Shinobi, what the hell do we care about fairness anyway?"
The rest of the Party stayed silent, there wasn't much they could say to that response and all of it was either stupid or childish.
Naruto mentally smirked before saying "Now let's go inside, we've already got a female Sasuke, I can't wait to see what other changes there might be!"

Yes, I added Fem!Sasuke, Don't kill me! But it adds a level of hilarity and changes, especially as while Satsuki shares some of the Uchiha Arrogance she takes after her brother in a few ways as well.
Also she shares traits with Hinata (Canon!) but I'll leave those up to your imagination... for now anyways.
Now someone who has checked my forums and seen some of the quest lists there (only a few for now but more will be added later on!) will notice that I've added a few extra secret objectives to the Academy Blues Quest.
