Whenever the doctor comes to visit, especially on special occasions, he brings a gift with him. Sometimes, that gift is an adventure. But since it wasn't a special occasion, the doctor holding in his hand a small brown box was a surprise to them. Usually it was nothing special: The first can of spam ever made, Henry the 5th's handkerchief, or just a rock from mars. But this time was unusual.
The box seemed quite heavy. The doctor was oddly quiet for a few seconds before loudly proclaiming "Amy! Rory! You're alive!" and proceeded to awkwardly hug them together.
They could never tell him the truth about what happened after he left them to live their lives. It would crush him. The only reason they were together in their old house were the divorce issues. Nothing he needed to know, they both agreed. The divorce was actually going well. But the doctor wouldn't take it so.
"It's been ages! How old are you now? 35? 36?"
"28! You should know best, time lord" Amy said.
"I haven't been paying attention to the time recently. It's a funny thing, time. One day you wake up and see the world beginning, and the next day it's the end of time. Or maybe that's just me. So how's earth doing these days?"
"Very well, actually. We haven't heard from you in a while. Where have you been?" Rory asked.
"I have been very, VERY busy! So incredibly busy you can't even imagine. Woo! Saved the sixth moon of Raxacoricofallapatorius from falling into a space vortex, helped little girls with their math homework, accidently stepped on an ant and took it to the hospital. You know, stuff. So, what are you, Rory and Amy Williams, up to?"
"Guess who is getting divorced!" Amy said, with a slight hint of sarcasm. She wished she could just take that back, but she couldn't. She hoped he would somehow figure out on his own she was serious, but she knew he wouldn't. "Very funny! So… are you in the middle of something important? A midlife crisis? No? Excellent! With me, both of you. We have a damsel in distress to save!"
Wondering where will the doctor lead them this time, they rushed off into the Tardis and disappeared, off to another adventure.
"But first, a quick stop!" The doctor said, and as he finished his sentence he pulled a lever which made the Tardis shake and threw Amy to the ground. As Rory came to help her up, she pulled herself up and said "I'm fine."
While they were busy getting up, the doctor had put on a Hawaiian necklace and sunglasses and screamed "Welcome to Fiji!", as he opened the Tardis doors.
