"Amy does not have a girlfriend, because I would be the first to know," Karma declared loudly. Amy noticed a familiar glint in Karma's eye that only appeared when she became the center of attention. Karma took this time to stand up, and looked down on Amy. Amy, characteristically, remained quiet as ever, and began chewing slower, so to have an excuse for not speaking.
"Anybody want to fucking answer me right now? Amy, how about you," Karma continued. She actually started talking louder now that all eyes in the lunchroom had swiveled towards her. She basked in the observation of others. Instead of answering, Amy took another bite.
"Are we not best friends anymore? Do you even care about me," Karma finally finished at the highest volume. Amy realized what Karma was trying to do. Karma wanted to be the victim. She was sick of everyone hating her for dating Liam, and for once she wanted to be the one pitied, not Amy. Amy finally took the last bite of her sandwich.
Before, Amy could stand up, and say something, a familiar voice rang out.
"Alright, she-devil, how about you take it down a notch. We all know you want to be the center of attention, but for the sake of your so-called best friend," Shane found himself crossing the distance between him and Karma, "why don't you stop trying to humiliate her in front of her friends, and step down. I hear trying to make your friends look bad in front of everyone is bad karma or something."
"Oh, Shane, very funny, bad karma, you know what else is bad karma, outing two lesbians for no reason. Absolutely none, you just felt like it. The funny part is half of them weren't even lesbians. And you know what else-" Karma was cut-off by a sudden set of footsteps, and Amy couldn't help but think that things couldn't get any worse.
"Hey shrimps, I wanted to stop by and surprise you," and somehow things got worse.
