"So how long do I have to stay in here Doc?" Valkyrie asked as she looked around the containment tent.
"Until I verify that you haven't been infected by the virus." Doc said through the intercom before waving towards the SEAL, "But do not worry. You would have turned by now if you did have the virus but just to make sure."
"You'll be back and up on your feet in no time partner." Blackbeard said before waving to his colleague, "I'll fill you in on what you'll be missing during debriefing in case you miss it."
"I know you will." She smiled as she waved the two operators away before sighing and laid down on her bed.
They had gotten back to base and she and Jager were immediately rushed to the infirmary to check if they had been infected by the virus or not. They were sprayed down with an disinfecting solution and changed into another pair of their uniform before being observed by a team of scientists for any form of symptoms but so far they were clean.
"Blah." Jager spat as he shoved the plate of rations away from him on the dresser near him, "I forgot how horrible these army rations were."
"I'm surprised that you still wear that helmet even without your uniform." Valkyrie said as she turned towards the German operative, "Don't you ever feel the need to take it off?"
"Never." Jager said while looking around before meeting her gaze, "You don't think I can get one of these boys to go and fetch me a local beer do you?"
"Probably not."
"Damn." Jager sighed as he propped his boots up against the end of his bed before his head suddenly shot upwards, sniffing the air quickly, "Wait! Do you smell that?"
"What is it?" She said as she quickly sniffed the air, trying to locate any kind of foreign substances, "Ammonia leak? Poison gas? Rotten blood?!"
"No you idiot! Food!" Jager grinned as he scanned the room, "And it's something that those kitchen fools could never hope to make."
Now that Jager had said it, her nostrils filled up with the smell of spices that made her nose tingle funnily before she had to clear it to avoid sneezing.
The flaps of the entrance of the containment unit made her turn to see Tiger walking into tent with a bowl in each hand while still dressed in the uniform that she had seen him in earlier with his tiger mask still on and without his claws.
"Tiger!" Valkyrie exclaimed as he sat down on a chair between her and Jager, "You're not supposed to be here! We could be infected and-"
"The doctor has cleared you of the virus already." He said while handing her a bowl with a spoon, "For now, eat up."
She looked down and saw something that resembled and smelled like the curry that a shop near her hometown used to sell.
Valkyrie scooped up a spoonful before putting it into her mouth, suddenly relishing the flavors that were flooding into her mouth. She knew the taste was from the MRE's but the added ingredients boosted the umami content by ten fold!
"I see that you like it." Tiger chuckled as he lifted his own spoonful but stopped as he noticed Jager's hungry gaze follow the spoon, "Want it?"
The German's head nodded slowly as Tiger passed him the bowl and Jager dug in just as fast Valkyrie did.
"That hit the spot!" Valkyrie exclaimed as she set the spoon down on the metal container with a clang, "Thanks a lot Tiger."
He didn't respond but pulled out a napkin from his inner pocket and wiped her mouth.
Valkyrie froze as he did and Jager's jaw dropped along with his spoon onto the bowl.
"You are a very messy eater angel." Tiger smiled as he wiped her mouth clean and crumbled up the napkin while standing up, "Debriefing is in five in the command tent so I would hurry friend."
He patted Jager on the shoulder before leaving the tent after giving her one last look.
Their eyes followed his back until he left completely before Valkyrie's face was completely submerged in her hands, blushing up a storm as Jager continued to badger her.
"He likes you!" The German laughed as Valkyrie turned away from him in embarrassment, "He even gave you a nickname! Oh angel! My sweet, sweet angel!"
"Shut it Marius!" Valkyrie exclaimed as she hurriedly put on her boots with Jager teasing her, "I said shut it!"
"But why should I hmm?" Jager grinned as he finished his bowl before hopping off the bed, both of their wounds healed thanks to Doc's miracle medicine, "What's to stop me from telling Blackbeard about this interesting relationship?"
"Are you blackmailing me Jager?" Valkyrie asked as she got into his face, easily seeing her own reflected off his visor, "If you think you can take advantage of me that easily then-"
"Relax Meghan. I would never do it to a friend." Jager said while patting her shoulder before walking towards the command tent with a full belly and a grin under his mask.
Valkyrie reached a hand up and touched the area where Tiger had touched before blushing even more. She forgot when was the last time that someone had wiped her mouth for her and it's something none of her past boyfriends have ever done for her. The closest thing to that was her fifth ex trying to smother her in kisses.
She looked down down at her bowl and noticed that there was still a small pool of curry on the side. Scraping the entirety of the sauce and sucked her finger clean, feeling the heat warm her body up as she smiled and looked in the direction of the command tent.
Maybe she wouldn't mind falling for him?
Command Tent
Valkyrie entered the tent to see Finka and Lion chatting with Ash and Doc as Tachanka, Thermite, Jager, and Blackbeard gathered around Tiger and his gauntlets.
"Meghan!"
Valkyrie smiled as she gave Finka a hug and Lion Lion one as well. The last time that they had seen each other was during a raid at a germ lab taken over by the White Mask organization a few months ago in Central Africa.
"Maybe she has a cure!" Doc said while throwing his hands up in exasperation, "And I can stop working in a quarantine tent lined with claymore and C4!"
"I know that you are a humanitarian Doc." Ash admitted, "But I don't think you can afford to be."
"Then I hope you have a better solution than a nuclear warhead." Doc glared at Ash before pointing a finger at the SWAT soldier, "Because we are barely containing this as it is."
"Woah calm down Doc." Finka said while placing a hand on the medic's shoulder, "Ash did say that it was a last resort if nothing else worked."
"Which is drawing closer since we have destroyed those hives and yet they are still adapting."
"Well what's the plan then?" Valkyrie asked with her arms crossed, "What about the lady with a cure that you were just talking about?"
"Doctor Ellen Mackintosh." Ash said while pulling up a photo of her, "She was the town's doctor when the outbreak had started so Doc thinks that she may have a cure."
"I think it's a chance that we could take." Finka said as she added in her two cents, "I personally do not like the idea of a missile solving our problems and it's a simple in and out extraction mission."
"Not if the enemy are mutant humans that want to rip your guts apart with their bare hands with their body spiked in every direction."
"If a squad of five can run through an infested hot springs and escape then seven shouldn't be a problem." Lion scoffed with his arms crossed over his chest, "It's a simple search and rescue. We don't even need the new guy to come with us."
"Well the last one I almost died if it weren't for Tiger." Valkyrie said while looking at him, "So yes we're bringing him along."
"Oh so he can make sure that you don't die?" Lion said with his hands up in surrender, "If it makes you that safe then he can come along and-"
"Why you little!"
Valkyrie lunged for Lion but Finka caught her in midair and held her back as she started to curse out the French operator while he laughed.
"Speaking of Tiger," Ash said while turning towards the group crowded around the Chinese Operator, "Tiger! Come over here and introduce yourself!"
"Roger!"
Tiger appeared by her side with his gauntlets on the table and gear on his side as the rest of the group converged onto him.
"Dà Bǎohù! Code name: Tiger! Reporting for duty!" He declared with a salute, "Captain of the Chinese Special Forces Unit code named: Ancestor's Might!"
"Mind showing us your weapons Tiger?"
"Yes ma'am!" He said before laying out his primary and secondary weapons right next to his claws and pointed to each one, "Two KRISS Vector SMG's and two QSW-06 pistols fitted to my personal requirements. Prototype weapon gauntlets that is classified due to its technology and I personally do not have much knowledge on it, sorry."
"Thank you and drop the formalities." Ash smiled while offering him a hand, "The name is Eliza."
"Eliza." Tiger said it out loud and a few more times in his head, "Nice to meet you."
"This is Thermite or Jordan."
"Thanks for the help pal." He said while shaking Tiger's hand, "Our friend would've died if it wasn't for you."
"That's Tachanka or Alex."
"I am glad that you are not as spineless as those other guys back at Command." Tachanka laughed as he wrapped an arm around Tiger and shook him wholeheartedly, "We will be good friends I assure you."
"Jager or Marius."
"Such capabilities in something so little." Jager complimented while shaking Tiger's hand, "You have earned my respect friend."
"Doc or Gustave."
"You were very brave for risking your life for her." Doc nodded while shaking his hand, "You have earned my respect long ago."
"Blackbeard or Craig."
"Mind if I take that claw of yours out for a test drive?" Blackbeard grinned as he pointed at the metal gauntlet before Valkyrie punched him in the side, "What?! I asked nicely!"
"You already know Valkyrie or Meghan."
"Thanks for saving me Dà." Valkyrie said while shaking his hand and gave him a sincere smile, "I'm glad to have you here."
"And his cooking."Jager coughed as Valkyrie shot him a death glare and Tiger chuckled in response.
"Lion or Oliver."
"The Alpha of the group." He said arrogantly as Finka smacked him above the head and he rubbed the sore spot, "Tch."
"Finka or Lera."
"Pleasure to meet you Tiger." Finka smiled gently while shaking his hand, "Don't mind Lion. I'm happy that you can join us."
She tried to let go but Tiger held her hand there, not letting go.
"Umm Tiger?"
He ripped up her sleeve and placed two fingers on her veins, as if checking for a pulse.
"Hey, hey get your hands off her!" Lion said as he reached up to grab Tiger but Doc held him back, "What are you-"
"He is a doctor as well." He said while pointing at Tiger.
"What do you mean he is doctor?" Tachanka asked as the group kept their eyes on Tiger and Finka, "How can you tell?"
"A feeling."
Tiger continued to check her pulse before cupping her cheek with a hand causing her to blush, a scrutinizing gaze evident in his eyes. He placed his hand on her left breast, which led her to blush even harder before rearing back her fist and throwing a punch at Tiger.
He easily caught her punch before looking up at her in the eye.
"Nothing." Tiger said as he let go of her, "You looked like someone I knew. I am sorry if I made you uncomfortable."
"It's alright." Finka said as she fixed her sleeve and gave him a curious glance, "I guess I must've met you when I was on one of my relief missions."
"Moving on." Ash interrupted with a small cough before pointing to the map behind her, "Team one will consist of Blackbeard, Tachanka, Lion, and Valkyrie. Team two will consist of Finka, Doc, Thermite, and Tiger. Your team will enter from the front of the hospital and converge with Team two. Team two will enter from the back and extract Doctor Mackintosh from the Serology room located on the second floor with Team One. Jager will be waiting at the top with a Black Hawk extraction after the doctor has been rescued."
"So a two pronged attack?" Tachanka asked while rubbing his chin, "Why not have us all enter from the front? We can fight through the horde and rescue the doctor faster."
"We can cover more ground this way seeing as how we don't exactly know the doctor's location." Ash said simply while looking around at the Operators, "Now if there are no more questions, wheels up in five."
Everyone went their separate ways to prep for the mission as Ash and Thermite were left alone in the command tent.
"What do you think Jordan?" Ash asked her long time partner.
"That Craig's gonna be mad at Tiger for making a move on his girl."
"No you idiot!"
"No?" Thermite said while leaning on the table with an arm, "Then maybe Oliver going to be mad because Tiger looked pretty alright with Lera. I'm sure he had a wife and kid at home but I guess-"
"Jordan Trace I swear I'm going to-"
Thermite cut her off with a passionate kiss as the breaching expert blushed before wrapping her arms around his waist and the two embraced.
"Or is it that you secretly miss my kisses so much that you go nuts?" Thermite whispered into her ear as his voice sent chills down her spine.
"My god please don't stop." Ash moaned as he tickled her with his nose in the one place that had missed his touch.
They enjoyed each other's touch as someone knocked on a supply chest, alerting them to someone in the room as they turned and saw Tiger giving them a small wave.
"Bad time?" He asked with a cheeky grin.
Thermite growled as he bolted after the fleeing Chinese man, shouting, "You damn prick!"
Ash laughed as she watch her boyfriend chase Tiger around the base before pulling up Dà's file and smiled, "You'll make a great addition to our team alright."
Hospital
Team one jumped off their Black Hawk and onto the front porch of the hospital as spotlights revealed their zone.
"This is Blackbeard with Team One reporting." Blackbeard said as he checked the area around him, "We have landed and are preparing to storm the hospital."

"This is Thermite with Team Two reporting in as well." Thermite said as he repelled down from the helicopter before landing on the ground with the rest of his team touching down and the Black Hawk leaving them, "We're just about to breach the place so gimme a minute."

"Well you better hurry up." Ash said as she looked up at big screen and saw the map of the town, "Satellite imaging is telling me that an enormous heat signature is headed your way and I'm pretty sure that it isn't a fire with how fast it's moving."

"Noted!" Thermite exclaimed as he set the charge onto the back wall before everyone made some space between them and the explosive, "Fire in the hole!"
Everyone ducked as the thermite charge blew a sizeable hole in the wall before Tiger and Finka were the first ones in, shredding through the Roaches with his dual KRISS Vectors and her SASG-12 as if they were nothing.
"Clear!"
"Remember the plan everyone!" Thermite said into his comms as he and Doc followed, "Securing Doctor Mackintosh is a priority! If we want to avoid planting another nuke into New Mexico's soil, we gotta find her and find her quick!"

"I'm working on it!" Lion shouted as he picked off a few that had came running through the hallways with his V308, "But these guys just don't know when to quit!"
"Obviously they don't since they're running at us with several mags embedded in their bodies!" Valkyrie said as she pulled the pin on a grenade before tossing it at a group running straight for them, "Frag out!"
The grenade blew up a few seconds later, sending bits and pieces of Roaches flying as Team One cleared the hallways before fanning out.
"I found the stairs!" Tachanka said as he walked up a few steps before quickly stepping back to avoid being hit by a falling body. It was a ripped apart Roach with half of it's head missing and bullet holes riddling it's torso, "And a dead Roach."
The Russian gunner looked up to the balcony of the second floor to see Tiger waving down at him.
"And a crazy Tiger!" Tachanka laughed as he went up the stairs with Lion and Blackbeard covering him as Valkyrie threw out her "Black Eyes" on the walls as well as a few claymore's to protect their rear.
"Camera activated!" Valkyrie said as she went up the stairs while checking her feed, seeing the hallways and main entrance to make sure that wouldn't be sneaked up on by some Roaches walking nearby.
They finally met up and everyone looked okay mind for a few specks of dried blood and burnt uniform from the Roaches.
"Where is the Serology room?" Blackbeard muttered to himself while looking up and down the manifest of the building, "Down this hallway!"
"Let's go then!" Thermite said while sniping a Roach trying to climb out of a window with his 556xi, "The faster that we can get to her then the faster we can get out of here!"
"Roaches coming in 6 o'clock!"
Multiple disfigured bodies poured out of the rooms on the opposite end of the hallway before releasing a guttural scream and charges towards them.
Tachanka set down his giant LMG and clipped on a giant drum before spraying a wall of death at the thick crowd of Roaches tripping over each other while trying to get to him.
Doc and Finka joined Thermite down the hallways to find the doctor as everyone else got into a position to effectively defend against the Roaches creeping out of every corner.
"Reloading!" Valkyrie exclaimed while sliding shell after shell into her shotgun, "Cover me!"
"Meghan watch out!"
"Rargh!"
Valkyrie turned to her right to see a Roach's nose only a feet from touching hers, flying towards her with its hands so close that she could feel the heat from them.
"Shi-"
Something metal grabbed the Roach by it's head, claws digging deep into the skull, before tossing it into the other direction and into a wall.
Blackbeard finished it off with a few placed rounds into what was left of it's head.
"Thanks Tiger." Valkyrie smiled as she accepted his hand and pulled her back up to her feet, "Guess you saved my life twice."
"Looks that way."
"You two can flirt later!" Blackbeard teased as he crouched down and burst fired 15 rounds into the Roaches, "Shoot now, talk later!
"We're not flirting!" They both exclaimed at the same time before looking back at each other and blushed.
"Looks like Valk's gone soft!" Lion laughed as he chucked a grenade into the hellish environment in front of them, engulfing the area briefly in smoke as they continued to fire, "Congratulations cub! You just did the impossible!"
"That he did!" Tachanka laughed out loud while giving Tiger a quick nod, "First beer is on me comrade for your achievement!"
"All of you shut up!" Valkyrie exclaimed embarrassingly as she cocked her shotgun before taking a hole out of a Roaches body.

"Doctor Mackintosh!" Thermite shouted as he opened the door to another room, "Where are you?!"
"I'm over here!" She coughed while coming out of her hiding place from within an empty cupboard, "Thank god you came."
"We are here to get you out." Doc said as he walked over to her to see her left arm in a makeshift splint and thigh in a makeshift tourniquet, "We need to get that checked out immediately doctor. Is there anyone else?"
"Sadly no." She sighed before looking at a dismembered corpse to her right, "Poor Anna. She was so young."
"We need to get you out of here Doctor." Doc said as he lended her a shoulder.
"Wait!" She exclaimed before pointing towards a table filled with vials, "The vaccine!"
"I got it!" Finka said as she managed to shove all of the vials into a metal storage box before locking it and placing it under her arms, "Let's go!"
"Thank you so much." Dr. Mackintosh said as she was helped out of the door, "I can never imagine how I could repay you all."
"You can thank us when we actually get the hell out of here!" Thermite said before switching on his comms and shouted, "Jager! We got the package! On our way now to the roof for evac!"
"Roger that Thermite. ETA 2 minutes."
"We got the package everyone! Get to the evac point!" Thermite shouted towards the group fending off their rear before taking the lead towards the roof with Doc and Finka helping the injured doctor move.
"Let's go!" Tiger said as he patted Tachanka roughly on the soldier, "We're pulling out!"
"But I was just getting to know these guys!" Tachanka joked as he set down a claymore before chucking the rest of his grenades into the hallway, "Here's my farewell gift!"
The explosives rolled across the floor a bit as the Roaches ran over them before they were sent flying through the ceiling in an explosion of smoke and shrapnel.
As she ran, Valkyrie feed beeped continuously, warning her that the motion detectors had been set off on her Black Eyes. She opened it up and her eyes widened at the number of Roaches flooding into the entrance room.
"Ash!" Valkyrie called out on her comms as she set down a few claymores behind the group, "What was that large heat signature that you were talking about?!"
"That it most likely wasn't a fire, why?"
"It's a gigantic swarm of Roaches!" Valkyrie shouted as she armed the explosives before running after the group, "And it's not the kind that we can kill with bug spray either!"
"Then hurry up and get to that chopper!"
Several loud explosions rocked the building as the claymore's that she had set earlier had detonated.
"I plan to!" Valkyrie said as she switch off her mike and ran up the stairs, her footsteps lost in the sound of monsters following her.

"Come on Meghan!" Finka shouted as she held the door open for the SEAL and slammed it shut after she came through before making their way
"Up you go doctor." Doc said as he helped her up before climbing up as well , "Easy does it."
"I don't want to be a sore thumb but there's a couple hundred Roaches storming the building with a hell lot more climbing up the walls." Jager said through his comms after looking out the side of his cockpit, "So hurry the hell up!"
Tachanka manned the 50 cal on one side as Thermite got the other and Blackbeard picked off the ones trying to climb onto the roof with his rifle.
Valkyrie and Finka booked it towards the Black Hawk that started to hover higher and higher. More and more Roaches climbed up the roof or flooded in from the access door behind them.
"Don't you dare leave without us Jager!" Valkyrie shouted while shaking her fist above her head.
"Then move those hips then because this roof is becoming really packed!"
"Hurry up girls!" Tiger urged as he extended a hand to both of them while standing in the main cabin of the Black Hawk as it continued to pull away from the roof, "Jump!"
They both took the leap of faith as the first Roach made a swipe for them and Tiger caught them both in his arms as they landed roughly on the cabin floor.
"Gun it Jager!"
"Hold on to your butts!" Jager shouted as he yanked the joystick and the entire cabin rotated sixty degrees backwards before he quickly righted himself after they had cleared the hospital.
"Everyone alright?" Jager asked as he looked behind his seat and into the main cabin.
Doc had shielded Doctor Mackintosh in his arms as Tachanka and Thermite managed to hang onto the harnesses that strapped down the 50 cals. Blackbeard slumped down to the hard metal surface after he had hung onto a handle bar for dear life as Jager pulled a fast one to get them out of there.
What really had caught the German's eye was the fact that Valkyrie and Finka were pressed so close to Tiger that the words close intimacy couldn't even cut it. Tiger's back was to the wall as Finka straddled his lap and Valkyrie's chest was all over his face to the point that all he saw was a camouflaged outfit but his face felt like it was in heaven.
"Oh you are a lucky man my friend." Jager laughed as he turned the joystick towards base.
