Hello again. And here we are to continue the story. Just like always, I don't own anything.

Chapter 2

"I'm leaving."

The group sat shocked inside the Boar Hat. All eyes fell on King as he stood at the end of the staircase, Chastiefol floating by his side.

"What!" Diane cried out, the first one to speak. "You can't leave! We still need to train and become stronger!"

"I'm sorry," King said, turning so he didn't have to look at Diane.

Elaine stood up from where she sat at Ban's side and walked over to King, taking his hands. "Harlequin, I wish you a safe journey."

"Thank you, Elaine," King said, a small smile forming on his face.

"You're not stopping him?" Elizabeth asked.

Elaine shook her head. King let her hands go and turned back to the group. "I'm going home to the Forest of the Fairy King. I need to fulfil my duty as king and make sure my people are fine. I will return though!"

Meliodas took a couple steps forward. "Then good luck, King. Take as long as you need. We'll be here when you return."

"Thank you, Captain!"

"Be safe, King," Ban said, walking over to him.

King smiled. "I'll be fine. Don't worry. I'll send word and I won't be gone long."

After a few more goodbyes, King flew off from the Boar Hat, calling Olso to him. The giant black hound opened his maul, swallowing King and teleporting him to the forest.

King took a deep breath as he looked upon the green forest. He wasn't sure how long this trip would last but he didn't want to be away from Elaine and the others for long. He flew into the air, heading for the Scared Tree, figuring a talk with Gerheade would be the best place to start with his visit.

"Fairy King Harlequin!" King turned and waved at several fairies who flew close by before continuing his journey to the tree.

King could feel the whispers spreading though the forest at his arrival and knew that he had made the right choice to come. He flew low and entered the opening into the Scared Tree where Gerheade stood.

"Fairy King Harlequin!" Gerheade shouted, rushing over. "It is so good to see you. What are you doing here?"

"I wanted to make sure everyone was doing okay," King said, standing next to Gerheade and looking up at the tree. "I've cause such wrong by not being here that I want to try to atone."

Gerheade gave him a sad smile. "King Harlequin, you saved the realm from that monster, nearly sacrificing yourself to do so. You've more than made up for the past. And in the end, it's in the past."

King sighed. "I guess you are right."

"You should return to your friends and Lady Elaine," Gerheade said, patting his arm. "If we have need of you, you will know. You are our king after all."

"I'm going to look around and make sure everything is alright before I leave though," King said. "I'll see you soon, Gerheade."

"Until next time, Fairy King Harlequin!" Gerheade happily call out as King flew away.

King flew around the forest, talking to those who wished to speak to him. Most wanted to say they were happy to see him and others gave their gratitude for saving the forest. King circled once more around the forest, determining that his worries were not needed and Gerheade was right, if the Forest of the Fairy King was in trouble, he would know. King turned, ready to start the journey home. He wouldn't call for Oslo because he wanted the hound to stay by Elaine's side.

"Fairy King Harlequin!" King turn as three fairies flew up to him. The one with blue hair smiled. "Are you leaving?"

King nodded. "It is time I return to continue to train."

"Please don't go!" A pink hair one cried out.

"I'm sorry," King said, his heart heavy. "I will return. Once peace is upon the land again, I will be here for good."

"Before you leave," The blue haired one started. "Would you mind coming with us?"

"Is there a problem?" King asked.

The third fairy, the one with orange hair looked away. "Kind of."

"Of course, I will come," King said. The three fairies flew down with King close by. They turned and went low, around the Scared Tree, near the back.

The blue haired one pointed to an entrance near the roots. "It's right through there!"

King followed them through the opening. "Just what is wrong?" Darkness crept around them until King couldn't see anything. "Spirit Spear Chasteifol, Seventh Form, Luminosity." The bright light filled the area, revealing a large cavern, the roots of the tree wove throughout it, creating the walls and high ceiling. The three fairies stood off to one side. "What's going on?"

"The problem," The blue one spoke, taking a step forward and placing his hand on a nearby rock. "Is that you are leaving. Again."

"It won't be like last time," King said, turning to the group. "I'll be back."

The pink haired one shook her head. "We know you'll be back but what if something were to happen while you were gone! We can't let that happen. Not again."

"And it won't." The orange haired one touched a knot of vines and the room sprung to life.

Several vines whipped from the walls, speeding towards King. King gasped and jumped out of the way. He turned as several vines tried to grab him. "What do you think you're doing!"

"We can't let you leave."

King twirled out of the way from a vine while another struck him across the back, sending him crashing to the ground. King grunted as another wrapped around each of his limps, securing him in place.
