Hello everyone. Here is chapter 2. I hope that you will enjoy it. :)
King Albert and his wife, Queen Maria, were still waiting for Prince Banderas when the latter finally came into view and he entered the courtyard on his pony, spirit, while giving a smile at Albert and Maria with the latter returning the smile as Banderas stopped his pony and he got off before walking over to them.
He bowed to his friend, Albert, who hugged him as he was glad at seeing his best friend again and he knew that the two of them have a lot of catching up to do due to the fact that it has been quite a long time since when the two best friends last saw each other with this information making their reunion magical.
Banderas is the youngest son of his parents, King Henry and Queen Sarah, as well as the younger brother of Charles who he didn't get along with very well due to the fact that Charles hated women while Banderas loved and cared for them as well as treating them as his equals much to his brother's disgust.
"Hello Banderas, my old friend" said Albert as he smiled at his best friend. "It's been a long time, hasn't it?".
"It sure has, it's been two years" said Banderas as he returned the smile. "It's good to see you again, Albert".
"You too, Banderas, now come" said Albert as he introduced his wife. "Meet my wife and Queen, Maria".
"It's an honour to meet you" said Banderas as he kissed Maria's wing. "I can still remember you, marrying Albert".
"The honour is all mine, Banderas" said Maria as she smiled at Banderas. "My husband told me, all about you".
"I'm sure that he has, my Queen" said Banderas as he looked at Albert. "Should we have this conversation, inside?".
Albert nodded in agreement as he and Maria, along with Banderas, began walking into the castle and they made their way to the throne room, though, Maria handed over her two children to one of her ladies-in-waiting in order to look after them while talks took place.
Maria, herself, had heard about the stressful situation that Albert has found himself in as she knew that her two rivals are married to both of Albert's two rivals with the situation looking very bleak as claims to the throne started spreading up out of nowhere, much to Albert's annoyance.
The news had also spread fast and Banderas, himself, heard about the claims to Albert's throne with the news worrying the young prince as he knew that this could be very bad for both Albert and his family as a whole while knowing that it's situations like this that can end reigns quickly.
"So, I take it that you have heard the news?" asked Albert as he sat on his throne. "That two of my rivals, refuse to accept me as King".
"Yep, I have the news alright, Albert, that's for sure" said Banderas as he nodded his head. "It reminds me of Harold Godwinson, because the same thing happened to him".
"Except, unlike Harold, I will not be shot in the eye" said Albert as he looked at his best friend. "I will defeat these claims to my throne, my children will rule someday".
"Easy there, dear, just try and calm yourself" said Maria as she held her husband's wing. "Besides, I know that you will defeat your enemies, I know you can".
"I know, my dear, but we need to be careful" said Albert as he smiled at his wife. "Haredi and Swain, won't be giving up their claims so easily".
"Yeah, but, you deserve the throne, Albert" said Banderas as he looked at his best friend. "You are your father's successor, then, one of you children will be your successor".
Albert nodded in agreement to what Banderas was saying, though, he was still worried about his two rivals refusing to accept the fact that he is the rightful successor to his father's throne, even though he knew that the claims to the throne will keep coming, now that his two rivals are married and have children.
Maria, herself, was worried about this ever-increasing problem as she knew that it was possible that Albert could be fighting a war on two fronts and she was worried that her husband is going to get himself killed if he ever goes through with fighting against his two rivals.
