Episode 1: Expected the Expected
If one were to pass by the Shinsengumi station, they would find three very interesting individuals lolling about, with one very big white dog beside them. One of them, the eldest one out of them all, the one with silver naturally-wavy hair and red dead fish eyes, was the infamous owner of Yorozuya Gin-chan, famous for doing any odd job without fail if you paid them. If you were a local, you would know of his pitiful reputation for not paying the rent and getting drunk in the wee hours of the morning. If you were a tourist, you would notice his unproper way of dress, and immediately assume that he was one of the old days, the infamous ronin. The particular man's name was Gintoki Sakata.
At that moment where one passes by them, Gintoki was accompanied by two, one girl and one boy. Three, if you counted the monstrous-looking dog.
The girl was one of the Yato clan. Her Chinese-style of dress made her look delicate, and some may even describe her as cute when they first see her. However, her personality is quite the opposite. With her sharp tongue, she was a great battle-hardened warrior, both in battle and may even describe her as a mini Gintoki, despite being a young 14 year old. She called herself Kagura.
The last of them was the boy. Plain as can be, he looked exactly like his personality. Most would classify him as a simple cherry boy. Very many have stated that his black-framed glasses is his most distinct feature, so much that when they weren't on his face, no one could even see him. This is the straight man of the trio, given the name Shinpachi Shimura.
Now, you must be surprised that such a trio of oddballs could possibly get along enough to work together. That day was no exception.
"I don't want to guard the stupid lumbering gorilla!" Kagura complained absentmindedly, leaning aginst the sign that said Shinsengumi Station. Her sky blue eyes scanned the elder's ones, and found no comfort in it. Instead, they turned to her fellow coworker. "I blame you, Shinpachi."
"How is it my fault?" the teenager demanded. "If anything, it's Gin-san's fault for spending all that money on drinking!"
The silver-haired man pouted childishly. "I just got a little carried away…!"
"No excuses!" Kagura excalimed, and leaped up into the air skillfully, her foot colliding purposefully with Gintoki's head, and there was a large cloud of dust.
"Hey! We're being paid to do this, you know!" the straight man yelled at the now-fighting duo.
"Stupid Gin-chan!" The young girl jumped off gracefully and frowned.
As sudden as she had attacked her boss, she twirled her petite umbrella and thrusted it to the side, behind the gate, hidden. A painful grunt was heard, and the perpetrator slid to the rock pavement, unmoving.
"Eh? Are we under attack?!" The bespectacled boy glanced around frantically while his companions seemed unmoved by his gesture.
Suddenly, realization struck Gintoki. "This is it! This is our chance!" The frazzled samurai smirked gladly. The others looked at him with confusion. "Don't you get it? If we save the stupid gorilla, we'll catch the big bucks!" He sprinted off without warning, and eventually you could hear faint groans coming from the courtyard.
"Wait for me!" The eager Yato girl chased after the inspired fighter.
After a moment, Shinpachi trailed off after the two as well, but instead of finding them fighting, he found them-
"What the hell are you guys doing?!"
"What does it look like, Pachi-boy?" Kagura responded, peering at the sick-looking Gintoki.
"It looks like Gin-san is dying, and you're poking him rapidly with your umbrella!" he seethed in reply.
"Oh, am I?" The dimwitted teen look down at her mentor mournfully and noticed. "I see now!" She stopped abruptly and smiled gleefully, as though she meant to do that.
Her coworker sighed exasperatedly, then turned to his boss. "Gin-san, are you alright?"
"No…" He groaned softly. "I have a stomachache from eating too many parfaits…"
Shinpachi gladly participated with Kagura as they unmercifully attacked their elder. "And I was actually worried too!"
The trio didn't notice the dark figures approaching the station…
Isao Kondo was tired of being called a gorilla.
I mean, why him? It wasn't like he actually looked like one, right? He tried to take a shower at least every week, and he's refrained from indulging in his precious banana supplies, but still! He even tried to comb his hair once, but failed miserably.
He recalled the incident with the gorilla princess and shuddered.
Slumping down onto the loor being carefuly not to hurt his broke right arm, he pulled out a folded paper opened too many times that its been extremely worn out, and opened it.
It was a photograph of his precious Otae. He sniffed it delicately, almost smelling the trace of her sweet flower-like scent. He rejoiced at this every single time without fail. Now if only he could get her to accept him.
Suddenly, he was not holding a picture of Otae. Instead, a few pieces of sliced papers were falling down onto his fingertips. Instinctively, Kondo reached for his sword, bt realized he couldn't, with a bandaged right arm.
The stranger in front of him smirked and slowly drew out his weapon, a brillantly-glittering sword that gleamed maliciously. "Was this a bad time to visit, Isa Kondo?" He spoke with sarcasm. His followers laughed.
Kondo clenched his teeth, glaring back at his opponent with malice as he slowly got up, grasping his sword with his left hand shakingly. "What do you want?" he demanded commandingly, trying to sound courageous.
"Oh, just your life," he responded casually, and the minions around him laughed.
He took his chance to scan the room for some possible temporary shelters. Lingering over the closet behind him, he snapped his gaze back to the enemies in front of him. "Come on then. Go ahead," he beckoned.
After a quick smirk, the opponent thrusted the heavy sword straight at his chest, expecting a quick finish.
Kondo definitely wasn't going to be taken lightly though. He quickly parried his stroke with a fast slice of his katana, but he was already breathing heavily through his mouth.
The masked man was about to take another swift stab and strike when a sudden figure dived forward form behind the intruders and stopped the strike just as Kondo fell back into the closet.
"Wh-who are you?!" He stammered, failling back in shock.
