Drabble 2: Drizzle

It was, in fact, way less complicated than she thought it to be.
But even when she pressed her palms to her eyes, trying to push away the possibilities that couldn't be, the emptiness of rejection continued to nibble at the eroding fortress around her heart.
He'd chosen someone else over her. So, what?
The simplicity of her situation began to exhaust her. No matter how many times she forced this fact upon herself, her attempts only ended in frustration. Because in the end, he found his home in someone else's world.
It wasn't that she was overlooked outright.
It was that, like a drowning sailor, she had a taste of that sweet, sweet air, only to be dragged back under by the cold arms of the sea. So close, so very close she came to the promise of life.
Her acceptance of this truth fell from her eyes.

A/N: Oops I might have borrowed structure thing. With the dots. Because I fell in love with this other writer's style. -cough- I've been gone awhile and I finally forced myself to write something so hopefully you'll like it and it won't be too horrible.
