Anna Marie Logan stepped out of her room and looked over at her mama and daddy's bed in the big room. They were talking softly and that was real boring, so she crept over to the bed and jumped up onto it, roaring her best pirate battle cry and effectively scaring the wits out of her mother.
"Anna Marie, are you trying to give me a heart attack?" Raven asked the little girl, putting a hand over her chest as if to still her racing heart.
"I heard her coming from a mile away," Logan grinned, pulling the little southerner into his arms.
"That's 'cuz ya a real weird boy with doggy senses, daddy," Anna said matter-of-factly and poked his nose. Logan scrunched up his face and shook her finger off.
"That I am, darlin'. Hey, you know what you should do? You should go get dressed and turn on sesame street. I'll make you some breakfast."
"Is it gonna be a real good pirate breakfast with loadsa chocolate treasure?" she asked seriously.
"I'll see what I can do."
The little girl nodded and hopped out of her parents bed, singing 'A Pirate's Life For Me' as she skipped to her room to change out of her pajamas.
"And there goes our quiet nothing," Raven chuckled softly, kissing the tip of her husband's nose.
