In the lush conifer forest, the hatchling Diplodocus herd stopped at an area after walking for a time. It was covered with green ferns, which was just the thing that kept the Diplodocus going. Dip called out to his siblings that it is time to eat, and the hatchlings began feasting. But Dip wasn't hungry. He kept a close watch for predators, and saw one.
It was an Ornitholestes, looking for anything to eat on the forest floor.
Shocked by the Ornitholestes' sudden appearance, Dip called out to the rest of his herd to hide for cover. As Diplodocus hatchlings are green in colour from birth, they can camouflage well in the forest floor. As Dip and the other hatchlings crouched down into the forest floor, the Ornitholestes strode past them. It can eat mammals, lizards and even young dinosaurs. Dip didn't make any sound since the Ornitholestes crept around the herd, nor did the other Diplodocus hatchlings, but just as the Ornitholestes is about to leave the herd untouched—
"GRRNAK!"
"ACK!"

Dip could see, through the ferns, a Ceratosaurus grab the Ornitholestes, shake it and fling it onto a conifer tree before settling down to eat it. These dinosaurs were once the top predators of Jurassic North America, but now they are rare as they had to compete with a new predator, Allosaurus, for food.
He and the other hatchlings continued to stay low for a certain time, until the Ceratosaurus is content and leaves the carcass for a drink at the river. Then the herd crept past him, and disappeared through the ferns. Little did Dip know that the Ceratosaurus will one day, hunt him and his herd down...
