"It's time," Azazel said, facing her daughter. The two women stood in front in the spirit portal, twilight sky filled with crimson and amber auroras soared above them.
Uriel turned to her mother, eyes brimming with nervousness. "Ma, are you sure you don't want to come with me," she said holding her mother's hand. "You haven't left here for years. You need a change a change of scenery. See other people besides me."
Azazel chuckled, "My journey ended long ago, Dear." The woman reached in the old pouch that lay at her side and pulled out a necklace with a bronze arrow pendant. She placed the item in her daughter's hands, covering them with her own."This necklace was your father's."
Uriel looked up at her mother, nodded her head and frowned slightly.
"Use it to find the avatar. Be the Avatar's guide, and the Avatar your's." When her father died so did the world's hope and trust in the Avatar.
Uriel stared at the necklace, the only item that connected her to the man called her father. Azazel looked on, seeing a pang of pain flash actions her daughter's face.
She touched the young woman's arm. "C'mon, It's time to go."
As she began to remove her hand, Uriel grabbed it tightly. "At least come with me through the portal."
Azazel hesitated, but took her daughter's hand as the pair turned towards the portal. Pale green light glowed on Uriel's face as she turned towards her mother. Azazel squeezed her hand in reassurance and smiled.
"All right, let's go." They walked slowly in front of them until they were engulfed in pale, green light.
Moments later they emerged in the Spirit Wilds, dark green vines in contrast with the sleek modern architecture that towered in the background. Uriel smiled at the sight of the world she would now reside. She stepped away from the portal never taking her eyes away from the sights in front if her.
"Ma, it's beau-..." Uriel's words slowed to a stop as she finally looked at her young woman's eyes widened, her mother's body encased in a faint amber glow.
"B-but...how..." Uriel stammered, pale green eyes searching amber for an answer. Azazel smiled solemnly and cupped her daughter's face. "I told you. My journey ended long ago." Azazel started towards the portal when Uriel grabbed her arm.
"When! How! Why didnt you tell me?!" she cried, as tears formed in her eyes.
Azazel leaned down and wiped her daughter' s tears away. "Your journey...starts now."
She slowly moved Uriel's arm away as she started towards the portal until she became engulfed in the pale green glow once again.
Uriel stayed locked in her spot, staring at the portal. She dropped to her knees, clutched the grass, and truly cried for the first time in 15 years.
