Chapter two Home sweet home
Sky point of view
The long trip from Ipswich to Seattle was made even longer by Carmen's snores erupting from her sleeping form. I have never liked to fly and the reason I was flying was not making my mood any better because I am about to smother Carmen with the pillow she laying on. Tasha looked up from the book she was reading and noticed my mood and put down her book.
"Sky babe what is wrong you've been in a funk lately."
"Well I don't know what could be wrong with me one of my best friends just died and we had to go get her stuff and give people I didn't even know invite to her funeral. So I really have no clue what's wrong with me." I said with sarcasm dripping from my mouth like venom.
"You know that you're not the only person that lost a friend so don't bitch at me. Also those people were invited by Sarah it was some of her final wishes." Tasha shot back.
" Yeah I know it's just Sarah was a perfectly healthy eighteen year old that just happens to have a last will and testament so you kind of get the idea she knew she was going to die." I said trying to think in the most rational way.
"But also not every healthy eighteen year old that just happens to be dead." She whispered as if just saying those words could and would bring tears to our eyes.
"Hey Tasha don't cry I'm sorry I'm just as you put it in a "funk" so please don't cry because if you cry then I'll cry." I said my voice already beginning to crack one stray tear fell down my check as I scooped Tasha up in a hug. Just then the mono tone voice of the pilot informed us that we were home and finally waking up Carmen.
"So guys what did I miss? Carmen asked in her innocent voice. All me and Tasha did was laugh in response and leave a very confused look on Carmen's face.
"Home sweet home." I whispered to no one but myself.
