Chapter 2: Explosion and birthday party bash!

Happy Birthday To Us - Gred and Forge

Aly's POV

Two weeks later;

April 1, 1989.

Fred, George and my birthday.

I felt someone shook me awake. I heard someone sang in my left ear, "Wake up birthday girl! It's your special day with us!" I opened one of my eyes and saw Fred stood there; grinning. I stretched and yawned. I swinged my legs on end of bed and got out of bed. I said, "Fred, what are you doing here? And Where is George?" I put on my hearing aids on to hear them better. I heard, "Aly, I am coming!" I assumed that voice was George's. It was George raced up the stairs and ran into my room. He said, "Aww! Fred, you beat me here! Aly, Happy birthday!" I smiled and said, "Happy birthday to two of you too. Now, get out of my room so I can change my clothes." I pushed Fred and George out of my room and shut the door. I wear a red shirt with Chudley Cannons on it and a pair of faded jeans. I put on my new red sneakers to match my shirt. I looked at myself at mirror. My hair wasn't golden-brown anymore. It was red just like Weasley's hair. To my suspectition that ophanage dyed my hair. Its still at waist-length. I have more freckles on my nose than I have before. My eyes are totally different. Before I had hazel eyes; now I looked little closer, I have sapphire blue eyes. Look like my orphange is not normal orphanage! They are magical, but why didn't they sent me to Hogwarts? I stepped out of my room. Suddenly, I squealed by two pairs of hands on my body. Before I knew it, I was hovering over their head. I heard older voice, "Are you ready Char?" Then other slight older voice replied, "Yup. Bill, let's do this!" They carried me down the steps. I was screaming at them to put me down. They went out of the door into backyard. They were about throw me into the lake. I heard mum yelling, "William Arthur Weasley and Charles Septimus Weasley! Put the birthday girl down!" I heard groans from them. They finally put me down. My legs felt like jelly. I said, "Thank mum. They won't listen to me when I told them to put me down." Mum said, "Don't worry honey!" I ran into house and went upstairs. I stopped front of Fred and George's room. I was secretly helping both of them experimenting random things like trying to make bubblegum bubble won't pop or candies that turning your tongue to different colors. So far, lot of explosions in result of experiments failures. I knocked on the door. I hear the lock clicked and the door open that only Fred peeked in. Fred said, "Password?" "We are kings and queen of pranking." I spoke softly only Fred can hear it. Fred said, "Password granted. Hey Aly." Fred gestured me to get in. Fred looked left then right in hallway to made sure nobody there. Fred closed the door. I saw George was hovering over cauldron and muttering something. I looked at Fred and pointed at George. Fred looked at me and shrugged. George whispered, "Oi... Are you going to help me or stand there all day?" I walked over to George and whispered back, "What are we experimenting now?" Fred walked over to his brother's side. They looked at each other then looked at me. They were wearing identical smirk. Oh. Bloody hell. If they are smiling then something have to be me involved in this! George spoke up first, "Wellllllll... If you are asking for it." "We would tell you." "but we can't" "because it is surprise." They finish each other's sentences. George handed me small, blue, pepple-like candy in my hand and said, "Eat it." I looked at them then candy in my hand with suspicion. I shrugged then popped candy in my mouth. Fred and George sniggered. My eyes wided. I half-whisper and half-hissed, "Gred and Forge, What are you done to me?" Fred said, "Simple, we just change your hair color. I think blue isn't suit you." I looked at them with my mouth wide open. I gasped and ran to their mirror. Literally my hair is royal blue. I glared at them and asked them, "How long they will be last?" George gave me another candy this time it was white. I popped it in then I looked at mirror. My hair went blue to my normal red hair. I sighed in relief. I asked them, "So we are experimenting candies that can change your hair color to any color that you want?" They nodded their head. I said, "That's ok with me if you stop experiment on me." George said, "Then that is deal. But who we will experiment on?" "Oh that's easy... Ron is best to experiment on." We grinned at same time. "What about this: Sick of dye? Sick of fume? Too lazy to use your wand? With our invention; you don't have to! Color Your Hairdo! Just popped your selected candy then your hair would change!" I whispered. We were trying to come up with name for hair color changing candies. Fred and George had twinkle in their eyes. Fred and George whispered at same time, "It's perfect!" We went back to caudron to finish our candies. Fred grabbed final ingredient, dyes bottles. He carried them toward caudron. Suddenly he tripped over empty jug. The dyes bottles went flying out his hand then went into caudron. The caudron was hissed and bubbling furiously. We ran to George's bed and flipped the matteress to its side. We hid behind the matteress. The caudron exploded loudly. The matteress melted from it. It got in our hair and clothes. We looked at each other. We were laughing hard. We heard mum shouted, "Fred, George, and Aly... If there is another explosion. You are grounded until September 1st!" We looked at each other and gulped. We ran around the room. We cleaned the room fast and scrubbed down to cleaniness level. I grabbed my clothes for birthday party. I shouted, "Shower is mine!" I went into bathroom and lock the door. I put my hearing aids on the counter. I turned on the shower and step in. I grab soap and rag. I scrubbed myself raw. I grabbed my shampoo. It smelled like strawberry and jasmine. I scrubbed my hair to make sure it is clean. I turned off the shower. I grabbed the towel and stepped out of shower. I wiped the steam off the mirror and scream loudly! I opened the door and find Fred and George were standing outside. They came in and stared at the mirror. We stared at each other. Oh boy, We are so in trouble. My hair was baby-blue mixed with light purple. Fred's hair was orange-yellow mixed with lime-green. George's hair was pink mixed with teal. I pushed them out so I can put on my birthday clothes. I put on my birthday dress. It was spaghetti top green dress and red sash with bow. I wear red shoes with green bow. Lastly, to complete my look, I put thick green headband with red bow. I put on my hearing aids. Finally, I stepped out of bathroom. Fred and George went in. 30 mins later, they finally got out of bathroom. We looked at each other and gulped. We began to walk downstairs. We entered the kitchen. Everyone stared at us and laugh hard. Mum turned around and screamed at sight of our colorful hair. Mum screamed, "FREDRICK FABIAN WEASLEY, GEORGE GIDEON WEASLEY, AND ALISEDON ALICE LINCOLN! WHAT YOU HAVE DONE TO YOUR HAIR? We winced at mum when she called us by our full names. Fred, George, and I stuttered and trying to explain to Mum. Mum said, "No explanation! You guys are grounded until Septemeber 1st!" We spoke at same time, "Yes mum." Everyone was still laughing. Mum said, "Hush now children! It is Fred's, George's and Aly's special day." Ron said, "Is today April Fool's Day?" Fred said, "Why, yes, it is; my dearest brother." "That's why we picked you be our gerbil for today!" George ended. Mum said, "Oh no you don't! Remember, today is your special day, it doesn't mean you are off from your punishment!" Fred said, "Just kidding mum." George said, "Yeah, we won't pick on our dearest brother. Won't we Gred?" "No, Forge. No, we won't." They grinned. They gave mum a kiss on cheek. I gave mum a hug. Mum said, "Now, let's go outside and celebrate their birthday." We went outside. I felt my jaws dropped. All weasley's families were here. It was huge birthday party I never ever had! I suddenly broke down crying at the sight. I felt someone wrap their arms around me. Mum said, "Aly, shush now. Tell me what matter." I said, "Nobody celebrate my birthday. I actually thought I am worthless in this world." "Aly! You are not worthless! You are a part of this family!" "Thank mum." "Now, can we continue this day?" "Yes mum." Mum helped me up. We walked to the long table. Fred and George was already seated. I looked around for chair. Suddenly Fred and George grabbed my wrists and pulled to their laps. I squealed as I sat between Fred and George. I blushed and smiled at them. Mum said, "Please be quiet!" All of chatters stopped. She said, "Now, We can sing 'Happy Birthday' song to them!" They sang the song. Dad and Mum brought the huge cake I never ever see in my life before! It was 7 layers tall and about 2 feet wide. I felt my jaws dropped. It said, "Happy 11th birthday to Fred, George, and Aly!" It had lot of candles. I made a wish, I wish I was more like them; funny, sneaky, genius, sweet, mischievous, and queen to their king of pranking! I blew the candles out. I asked, "Mum?" She said, "Yes honey?" "I was wondering if Fred, George, and I can cut the cake?" "Yes, you can but be careful! The knife is sharp!" Mum gave me knife. I grabbed Fred's and George's hand to cover mine. We cutted the cake together. I picked up two pieces of cake and mashed at Fred's and George's face! I laughed at them. Mum grab the camera and took that snapshot. Fred and George looked at each other then looked at me and smirked at same time. Bloody hell! That would not be good thing. They picked a piece of cake and do the same thing to me like I did to them. Mum shouted, "Look at me! Smile for camera!" We had cake covered on our face. We smile and laughed. We cleaned our face. We ate the cake together. Fred and George grabbed each of my hands. They said, "Come on Aly! We need to show you something but first we need to put on blindfold." I said, "Ok." They put on blindfold on me. They guided me. I walked with them while holding each of their hand. Finally we stopped. I heard George spoke up, "Ah. Here we are. Gred, are you ready to take off her blindfold?" Fred said, "Yup Forge, I am ready." I felt their hand untied the knot of blindfold. The blindfold was falling freely to ground. I blinked once, twice. I gasped at the scenery front of me. The sun was setting behind the mountains. The flowers were swaying to the soft breeze. I look at Fred as he spoke, "Wait for it." I looked again. I was shocked. The sun was completely set. The stars were shining bright above us. The moon was full. The flowers began to bloom and glow. Blue, red, yellow, pink, purple, white, green, and orange flowers were everywhere! I said, "Wow... what are they?" George said, "They are moonflowers." "I thought the moonflowers are supposed to be white." "Those flowers are muggle moonflowers. These flowers are wizard moonflowers. They bloom and glow at night." "Oh... wow." I walked through the flower field and stopped. I glanced at George and Fred. I smiled. Fred said, "Let's go back before mum sent out search party for us." I giggled and said, "Ok Let's go! Last to the party is rotten eggnog!" I ran as headstart. Fred and George chased after me. I arrived first, and George arrive second by the hair. We picked on Fred because he arrived last. Mum said, "Where have you been?! We were about sent out the search party looking for you!" "Sorry mum. Gred and I was showing Aly something. We don't mean to worry you mum." George spoke. "Oh. I was worried. At least you are safe. Now is the time for presents opening! Everyone gathering around and give them your presents!" We torn every presents open. Fred asked me to dance, then George asked me. My night ended by I was sandwiched between Fred and George. We cleaned up the party then went inside. I walked with Fred and George. I stopped at their room. I kissed on their cheek. "Thank you for surprise. I love it. Good Night both of you guys." "You are welcome Aly. We are glad that you love them. Good night Aly. Don't let dugbog bite!" I giggled as I walked to my room. I entered and closed my door. I walked to my closet and change my dress to my pajamas. I put my hearing aids on my table. I went under my cover. I was thinking about my life changed in two weeks. I fell sleep with smile on my face.
