I'm back! Sorry if you waited this long for an update. Today is my first day off since the 27th of June. I've also been volunteering to go into work on days off and GM's have taken advantage of that. Whew! Anyway, I don't own Blue Bloods or else Eddie would have joined Jamie at a Sunday family dinner already. This is a two, maybe three, shot short. Part 2 hopefully will be up tomorrow and part 3 should be up within the week.

He Doesn't Know (Part 1)

Edit Janko couldn't believe it. A (non-regrettable on her part) drunken night of passion with Jamie had led to this. A beautiful bundle of joy nestled safely in her arms.

*Flashback*

She had been so scared to tell Jamie, so scared to ruin their friendship and their partnership, with this news. When she finally was able to get the courage to tell him, she found him kissing another woman. A beautiful woman with just below the shoulder brown hair, a business suit, and a briefcase leaning up against the wall. Quickly, she left the floor and his building without being noticed.

The next morning, when she and Jamie were in their RMP, she had to ask.

"So I went to your apartment last night to see if you wanted to have some beers and drinks. Who were you with in the hallway?" Eddie asked in a teasing voice.

"Oh, uh..." Jamie blushed. He couldn't believe that Eddie had witnessed that. "That was my ex-fiancee Sydney."

*End Flashback*

Eddie felt a tear run down her and watched as it dropped down onto her baby's cheek and run down their cheek before disappearing into the hospital sheets.

A knock had her looking up from her little one. She smiled seeing Comissioner Reagan at her door.

"May I come in?" Frank asked with a smile.

Eddie smiled back. "Of course."

Frank stepped into the room with his detail outside. Coming over to her right side of the bed, he sat down next to her bed.

"May I?" He asked, holding out his arms.

"Of course," repeated Eddie, placing her baby in Frank's arms.

Frank lit up holding his new grandchild. It had been so long since there was a baby in the family. He couldn't wait to introduce the family to the newest member. The thought made him frown a little.

Frank looked at Eddie. "Does Jamie...?"

Eddie shook her head. "No. I just... I couldn't. I've been in contact with Nicky as well as you. She told me that Jamie seems happy with Sydney. I don't want to get in the way. All I want for Jamie is to be happy, even if it's not with me."

The baby, as if knowing they were being ignored, started to wiggle in Franks' arms. Lightly swinging being arms back and forth by Frank, the baby calmed down.

"Nicky is excited to be a cousin again. She can't wait to go baby shopping," Frank grinned.

Eddie laughed. "Yeah, she told me that she was going to throw a small baby shower with her, Maria, and Kara."

"Maybe if you let Erin and Linda know, they would show up too." Frank told her.

Eddie felt the grin slip off her face. "Nicky asked if she could call me 'Aunt Eddie'. Told me that she could never call Sydney her aunt, can't stand Sydney for thinking she was better then the rest. As for Erin and Linda, I don't know. Jamie use to tell me of your family dinners. Nothing stays a secret in the Reagan family. If they found out, Jamie would find out."

"Jamie isn't as happy as he seems."

"What?" Eddie gaped.

Frank sighed, feeling a lot of weight on his shoulders. "Ever since I approved your transfer, he hasn't been himself. He hasn't smiled as easily as before. Most of his smiles are forced. He's asked me and Nicky for your new information. He misses you."

'I miss him too,' Eddie thought to herself. Blinking back tears, she turned away.

"You make him happy Eddie."

Turning back to Frank, Eddie retorted. "And he's my best friend sir, but he doesn't see me that way. He told me so himself that that night was a mistake."

Frank nodded, seeing he was getting nowhere with the new mother. Looking at her more closely, he could tell she was tired, nervous, and a little scared. "Well, you have the whole support of the Reagan family, even if they don't know it yet."

"Thank you."

"Have you decided on a name?"

"I have, but I was hoping to get your approval," Eddie answered.

"Oh? Fire away then," responded Frank.

"Joesph Daniel Reagan," Eddie grinned.

Alright, before I get any grief, I don't believe that Jamie is that kind of guy. It's fiction. I fully believe that Jamie would not get back with Sydney and he would definitely be there for his new family.

Part 2 is where Frank talks to Eddie about her transfer and he finds out he's going to be a grandfather for the 4th time.
