I had this idea almost immediately after uploading the last chapter, and had to get it ready for you guys.
I also realize that I did not describe the combat to give you guys a reference point, like Urquineath did. I think the best way to describe it would be a mix of Dark Souls and parts of Breath of the Wild. Most of the game is like Dark Souls in combat, but there are mechanics from BotW like the Perfect Evasion and the Flurry Attack.
Urquineath: That actually sounds really cool. Would it be a fighting game like Dissidia? Or would it be a semi-open world game like Zelda? Or maybe something else? The only thing I have to say is give Nora the ability to use Lightning Dust to augment herself, because if she can't then her Semblance is useless for the most part, and only usable when you fight an opponent who uses lightning, which as you've said there aren't many. Though have her consumption of Lightning Dust to be quite heavy to further balance it.
Gadget916: Thanks dude. I'll keep that in mind. For now I just want these ideas out of my head and on 'paper', get some cirtiques and then sort through them. I don't have a board of writers who can point out my mistakes, not sure I'd actually want that, might be a bit much. It's different from just hearing it from 'Gadget' and not 'that dude sitting right there', big differences.
Hey, if I ever get hired by RT, I'd make sure to give all of you a shout-out... though don't count on me getting hired, I'm just a random Aussie from the land down under!
Also, I might actually do an Injustice styled talk thing with this once I'm done all the story DLC stuff. Maybe have them used for duels? And certain boss fights?
STORY DLC 1:
WOLVES OF JOTUNHEIMR
"The first Story DLC takes place after the defeat of Salem."
Deep below Beacon, in the Chamber of the Fall Maiden, the Relic of Destruction floated atop its pedestal. "The Relics were placed back into their sealed chambers, because even though Salem and the Gods have been defeated, the power of the Relics remains. They would cause untold destruction should someone of an unsavoury disposition get a hold of them."
Suddenly a phantom of a wolf appears, bringing with it deathly cold. "Unfortunately for our heroes, there are plenty of such people after them." The wolf grabs hold of the Relic of Destruction, just as the chamber opens and Ozpin stomps into the room, seeing the wolf.
"An old friend has come to take what is his birthright, whether Ozpin wants it or not." The wolf runs towards Ozpin, who readies his cane to fight, before the wolf leaps off the bridge and into a just opened red portal.
In the snowy mountains of Jotunheimr, far to the north of even Atlas, where the cold winds blow death and not even Grimm can live, lies a village. The people who live in this village do more than survive in the inhospitable place, they thrive.
"The leader of the people is a man by the name of Hrungnir. A powerful warrior and a great leader. He is a man with an ambition, to take Atlas, his birthright, back from those who stole it from him." Hrungnir walked out of one of the huts.
He was a giant of a man, standing near 9 feet tall. His scarlet hair was alight like fire and his beard was braided as was the sign of a warrior in the village. He was dressed in bearskin and held two massive axes on his back. The axes were so large that on anyone else they would have required two hands, but he could hold and fight with one in each hand.
"Hrungnir's Semblance allowed him to create phantom wolves who brought with them biting cold, and he could see through their eyes and direct them from anywhere in the world." A red portal opened up in front of Hrungnir and his phantom wolf leaped out and handed him the Relic of Destruction.
A woman also stepped out of the portal. "Raven Branwen's tribe was destroyed by Hrungnir, and she alongside her remaining men and women were forced to serve Hrungnir, for he was the strongest there was."
Raven kneeled before Hrungnir as he picked up the Relic of Destruction, and smirked.
"This is the idea behind the first Story DLC: Wolves of Jotunheimr. It will add an entirely new area, Jotunheimr itself as well as a few smaller surrounding areas. As you can see, it is all about ice and cold. And any weapons and armor found in the DLC areas will also have that same style."
A massive volcano was seen in the middle of a blizzard, the red hot fires visible even through the blinding ice. "Of course, there is also this bonus area, Mount Surtur. Here you can obtain more⦠firey themed weapons and armor. And can even face Surtur himself, or at least his ghost."
From the lava rose a figure clad in white armor charred black, with lava dripping from the openings of the armor. "He is a tougher fight than even Hrungnir, and will test everything you have learnt over the course of the game. Lore wise he is below Salem in the power tiers, gameplay wise, he is far stronger."
Surtur brought down his sword, and sent forth a massive geyser of flame towards team RWBY. "He has effortless control over the fire and magma of his turf, and will bring all of it to bear."
"You might be thinking, 'Guikoi, why mention this Surtur character when Hrungnir is the main antagonist of the Story DLC?' Well, to answer that, I was just going to very badly segue back to him."
Hrungnir faces off against Ruby in a large arena, the Relic of Destruction strapped to his back. In his hands his two large axes. "The first phase of Hrungnir has him fighting you honourably, twin axes 'Ukon and Vasara'."
Ruby is dodging all of Hrungnir's attacks before counterattacking. "He cannot be killed in this phase, as every time his health reaches zero he simply regenerates by draining the power of the Relic of Destruction."
Ruby kills Hrungnir and he falls to his knees, before energy pours from the sword on his back and he fully heals. "The way to defeat him would be to attack the Relic itself."
Ruby dodges one of his attacks, gets behind him and attacks the back of his knees, making him fall forward. She then attacked the sword itself, shattering the bonds keeping it to Hrungnir. "Now we can actually damage him successfully."
Hrungnir notices the lack of the Relic, but continuous to fight Ruby. But after she drains his health to zero, his axes shatter under her assault and he falls back. "Now we are onto phase two of the battle."
Hrungnir slowly drags himself up, and reaches out to the Relic of Destruction, calling it to him, and it obeys. He catches the sword and implants it into the ground, using it to lift himself up before he uses it to heal.
But when he pulls it out of the ground, it is now a massive great sword. "Hrungnir's thirst for destruction makes him a perfect match for the Relic, and as such he has limited control over it."
Hrungnir howls to the moon as many phantom wolves appear. "He can use his Semblance indefinitely now, and call upon more than one at a time."
The battle went on, and Ruby was able to get a Perfect Deflection off and defeat Hrungnir. He dropped the Relic of Destruction and stumbled back as he tried to remain standing. The Relic of Destruction returned to its normal size.
Ruby leapt forward, tore the Relic from the ground and plunged it into Hrungnir's chest. He rose into the air as the powers of destruction coursed through his body, and caused an avalanche. He dropped back to the ground just as the wave of snow buried him. "Hrungnir's buried corpse will keep the Relic of Destruction hidden in this barren, inhospitable place."
"I'm wondering if you guys want to know what else this DLC adds, hmmm? Well, lucky for you, I'm about to go over it."
The character select screen was seen, and new characters were added. "Raven Branwen is now a playable character, and has a full campaign in the DLC. Same as Winter Schnee, Ozpin, Emerald Sustrai and Neopolitan. Which brings the total playable characters to 14. Of course, there is one last thing."
The character select screen showed the option 'Character Creation'. "That's right, you can create your own character. You will get no real campaign, but can play free roam where the stories of every character is available to play as your own character. So you get to play through the main events of the games as 'Billy McFuckFace' if you want, and can even choose a really weird weapon, make a fondue lance like in Monster Hunter Generations, that would be fun. Have the fondue lance turn into a cheese grater that shoots cheese covered strawberries or something stupid like that."
"Oh, and everyone gets new COSTUMES! I will use Ruby to show you what I mean."
Ruby is shown with ice armor and mask. Her scythe is a massive see-through icicle shaped like a scythe, and her cape has been shattered but by magic the shards are floating behind her. "Every character gets an ice themed costume like this for defeating Hrungir. Of course, you also get a fire themed costume for defeating Surtur as well."
Ruby now had charred black skin with embers still wafting off her, her normal costume was burnt to a crisp but had hardened magma keeping what remained covering her body, with those cool lava vein things fire costumes normally get, because those are cool~. She is without her cloak this time as it has burnt away. Her scythe is a massive chunk of rock with a geyser of lava coming out of the end, and being directed into the shape of a blade by a few chunks of rock that are floating on the top of the blade, with magic glyphs on them.
"And, just for fun, everyone gets a Beach Costume because why the fuck not?"
Ruby was seen in a bikini. Her top was like Ariel's seashells from the Little Mermaid, but were roses instead. Her bottom was like any normal red bikini bottom. She was once again without her cloak. Her Crescent Rose was now just a giant inflatable Zwei.
"That's all I have for now. I'll be back soon with more Story DLC. I hope you guys like what I did with the Wolves of Jotunheimr!"
