Chapter 2: Patrol
*Buffy's POV*
I woke up an hour before sunset. My shirt was wet with tears. 'Why have I been crying? Oh. That's right. Riley. He left me. Well, time to get up.' I had to patrol. Goody. I could blow off some steam and dust some vamps, too. The night was looking up. I got dressed. Black shirt, black jeans, black shoes, and weapons, never leave home without 'em. I walked out of my room, down the stairs, said good-bye to Dawn, and walked out the door. I walked straight for the closest cemetary.
The vamps would just be coming out for the night. New ones would be rising as old ones fed. I was gonna kill tonight. I could feel it deep down inside me. It was gonna be fun. For me that is. Not for them. They'd think they had wandered upon an innocent little girlie-girl. By the time they would figure it out, it would be half way through the fight and then they would move wrong and I would move right. They'd be dead and I'd be on my way to find their friends.
The first new grave I stopped at was still dead. No action there. I walked around a little. I reached the middle of the cemetary and heard a noise behind me. Something, or someone, wsa hiding in the bushes. I moved quickly toward the bushes just as a thin, pale-skinned creature jumped out from behind them. It growled at me, then lunged. Before it got within four feet of me, i had grabbed my crossbow and put an arrow in its heart. It stopped and fell headlong at my feet. I lifted its feet and pulled it into a nearby mausoleum. Tomorrow I would bring Giles to see if he knew what it was. One demon down...

I continued my walk through the cemeteries. It sure was quiet tonight. Maybe the vamps had decided to leave me alone. Just as I thought it was safe to move on, a group of about six vampires surrounded me. 'Where did they come from? I never heard them.' I did a quick survey of the offending vampires, none of whom had their game face on. One by one they turned, their faces going from baby smooth to rigid in the blink of an eye.
One stepped up and began to taunt me. "Hey little girl. Wanna play?" Oh goody. Witty repartee with a vampire.
"Umm... no, actually. Not unless you wanna play my game." I replied, just itching for a fight.
"Hey I can do that. What do ya say boys? We gonna play?" The other vamps smiled and prepared to fight.
"Let's go!" I began to circle, not taking my eyes off them. They jsut stood there, waiting for me to make the first move.
So I did. I did a perfect right hook and caught the talkative vampire across his rough cheek. Then the real fun started. All six vamps rushed me. Punching, kicking, pulling my hair. I dusted three that had tried to bite me. The remaining three continued to fight. They were strong and knew how to fight. That was bad. One of the was yelling, "Don't kill her!" I tried to figure out why a demon wouldn't want to kill me. Lost in my thoughts, I allowed one of the vamps to get close enough to bite me. When I felt the pain, I yanked him off me by his hair. That left a huge hole in my neck. Great, just great.
I felt myself being lowered to the ground, but no one was touching me. Oh. I must be falling. Shit! They were dragging me through the cemetary to a mausoleum near the one where I had left the demon. I heard a noise behind me. They had left me because someone had attacked them. 'Who is it?' That was my last thought before I sank into unconsciousness.

Sorry if it's still a little short. I'm working on making them longer, but it just fits like it fits sometimes.
