My mind felt hazy and it was difficult to pinpoint a thought. Why was it so hard to think? My entire body felt sluggish and I couldn't seem to open my eyes.

"Don't worry, you're safe now."

The words seemed to echo around me and the speaker seemed to be reassuring me. What does that mean? Safe? Was I in any danger?

"Kat, it's time to wake up now. You need to wake up now."

The insistence in the voice encouraged me to try opening my eyes again. The first thing I saw was a tiny light in the distance. I tried to get a better view of it, but before I could do anything, the light engulfed the darkness and everything faded away again.

Oh man, why does my head hurt so much? I grabbed the side of my head and squeezed my eyes shut tighter. After a few minutes the pain in my head went away and I was finally able to open my eyes. Well, I found out pretty quick that was a VERY bad idea. A light was right above me and I immediately shielded my eyes and shut them again. Okay, how about I let my eyes adjust before I open them. Yeah, that's a good idea.

I waited a few more seconds before I sat up and opened my eyes. That's an even better idea. Now I don't have to stare at the bright white light hanging above my head.

I looked around the room and realized a few things:

1. I was no longer on my couch in my living room

2. Bethany was nowhere to be found

3. The walls were all white, well they looked like they had a silver tint to them, but that didn't really matter, and this room had no windows

4. There was no apparent door anywhere in the room

That last one freaked me out a little. What kind of room didn't have a door? In order to find out whether or not this room did have a door, I decided to look around a little bit and started by inspecting the walls to see if there was a secret door hidden around somewhere.

After searching for a few moments, I found a little panel on the wall. It looked pretty interesting and my first guess was that it'd open a door. I reached towards it and right as I was about to touch the panel, the door slid open.

I barely had time to awe over the fact that the door slid open-I mean that's pretty weird in my opinion-because a woman with brown, braided hair entered the room. She was wearing a brown tunic and what looked like brown leggings. Oh, she also had a belt and on that belt was a….lightsaber? What in the world?

She smiled at me and I backed away from her trying to process everything. The room with silver tinted walls, a door that had a panel next to it and slid open, and a woman with a lightsaber attached to her belt?

I sat down on the bed, or cot, or whatever it was called, and tried to come up with a rational explanation. There's no way I was actually in the Star Wars universe right? That didn't make sense. There had to be some other logical explanation….which I can't think of right now, but that's not important. Right? This couldn't be real…right?

I was so absorbed in my thoughts that I didn't realize the woman was kneeling down in front of me with a concerned look on her face.

"Are you alright? You look a little pale."

"I'm fine…I just…don't know who you are or where I am." Yeah, that was real smooth Kat.

The woman nodded uncertainly before she stood up and extended her hand to me. "I'm Nephria and you're on Taris. We found you unconscious outside the apartment building and we brought you here to make sure you were alright."

Hmm, she kept saying 'we' but I didn't see anyone else with her.

As if someone read my mind, two more people walked into the room and any doubt that I was in the Star Wars universe vanished when I saw a familiar man in a hideous orange jacket.

So that was obviously Carth, but why were there two women? And why did one of them have a lightsaber…Revan wasn't supposed to have one until Dantooine. So who was this Nephria?

I was startled out of my thoughts when the other woman wrapped me up in a hug. So Revan's a hugger? This is way too much for my brain to handle right now.

She pulled away and gave me a bright smile and said, "Oh I'm so glad you're okay! We were so worried when we found you outside!" Apparently someone noticed the alarm on my face because Carth stepped forward and put a hand on her shoulder and she stopped rambling.

"Sorry, I'm Cayel and this is Carth. Are you okay? What happened to you?"

Great, now I had to come up with some sort of logical backstory. Well, here goes nothing.

"I'm fine, just a bit confused. And I was with my friend and…you know, I don't really remember what happened. One minute I was with her and the next I'm waking up and meeting you three." Well that panic was pointless. Being unconscious and having a small bout of amnesia were completely acceptable excuses. Plus that gave me more time to create an actual backstory.

Cayel had the most sympathetic look on her face that it was really hard not to just blurt out that I'm not actually from their universe. Ha, how well would that go? 'Yeah so I kind of lied, I'm not actually from Taris, or this universe! Oh and by the way you're Revan and you're destined to save the universe!' Yeah that'd roll over real well. Especially with 'I don't trust anyone' Carth.

Speaking of, he seemed to be okay and he wasn't giving me any suspicious looks. In fact, his expression just looked guarded. Well, that's interesting.

"And what's your name?" Nephria asked.

"Kathryn, but you can call me Kat for short."

"Alright Kat, we have something important to discuss."

Well that sounded incredibly ominous.

"Okay, it's not anything bad is it?"

Nephria cracked a smile and shook her head. "No, of course not. We just want to know if your family is nearby."

Oh, there's a problem. If I want to travel with them-which isn't even a question considering what happens to Taris- then I'll have to tell them I don't have parents.

"I'm actually an orphan. My friend too, wherever she is. I think…" I paused as if trying to recall something from the 'recent events' that occurred, "I think we were looking for work. Or food. Actually I'm pretty sure we were looking for both." Wow, I'm terrible at this whole improvisation thing.

Nephria shot Carth a look and Cayel just put her hand on my knee. "Well, don't worry about that anymore, we'll help you out."

Carth looked slightly perturbed by that statement, but a glare from Cayel wiped the look off his face. I found that pretty amusing actually. This Revan seemed lovable, but maybe that was all a façade? Well, I knew I'd find out eventually.

"Well, I suppose that makes what I'm about to tell you a little easier," Nephria said as she settled down next to me on the bed.

Before I could analyze that statement, she continued.

"Are you aware that you're force sensitive?"

I furrowed my brow in confusion. What? That's not possible is it? How could I possibly be able to use the force! That doesn't even make sense!

"Uh, no I didn't know that," I responded with a slight waver in my voice. That was probably from shock, but Nephria must've mistaken it as fear.

"Being force sensitive is nothing to be afraid of. Don't worry, I'll help you through this, but I think we should take you to Dantooine to meet with the Jedi Council. They'll decide if you should be trained."

Well this is all a little sudden isn't it? Well I guess that does explain the question about my parents. This way there's really nothing holding me back and this will get me off Taris...Well, this is the perfect opportunity and I'm not gonna refuse it!

"Well, it won't be dangerous will it?" Even if I've decided I'm going, I've got to at least play the part right?

"No, it'll be a steady process and in the mean time I'll show you some meditation techniques to keep any random outbursts from happening."

"Okay, in that case why not? It's better than being stuck here."

They all seemed to agree with that statement as they all showed some form of agreement: Carth nodded slightly, Cayel smiled, and Nephria chuckled.

"I'll stay here while you two go to that party, okay?" Nephria spoke to Carth and Cayel, both of whom nodded, and Cayel gave me one last smile before the two left the room.

Okay, that gave me an idea of the timeline I'm dealing with. They still have to go to the Sith party, so they still need the suits. That means we're almost to the lower city! Oh that's not going to be fun is it?

Nephria turned to me and said, "While they're gone, I'll show you some exercises."

I nodded and followed her when she moved to the floor. I mimicked her actions (aka I sat cross legged and sat up straighter) and she closed her eyes, to meditate I assume, before opening them again.

"Do you know how to use a blaster? Or a Vibroblade?"

"No, I don't know how to use either…"

"I'll show you how to fight with a Vibroblade. It'll be easier if you end up training to become a Jedi later."

I nodded in agreement before she closed her eyes and began instructing me on how to meditate.
