I slowly leaned farther into his body, his skin was warm and soft. I turned and kissed his neck gently. He lifted his head and I kissed along the edge of his collarbone, up to his earlobe.
Then I heard a clunk from the end of the garage and then a creak. I hid my head underneath the blanket, my hair on his warm, gently moving chest and stomach. He laughed again and I looked up at him.
"What are you laughing at Manning?" I asked him, and then kissed his mouth gently. He smiled and kissed me back. He shook his head, and I ran my fingers through his hair and asked again, "What?"
"It's the heater. It shakes sometimes," he said reassuringly, then tucked a piece of hair behind my ear and kissed me again. He gently smoothed my hair down as I lay on top of his shoulder again, smiling. He kissed my forehead, then smiled and whispered, "I love you, Ellie Nash."
And those words rushed through me like a bolt of electricity hit my entire body and I kissed him again, with all the pain and love and sorrow and devotion rushing into the kiss, making me feel alive again. I pulled back after a while of playing with Craig's tongue, and whispered, "I love you too."
