Author's Note: Wow, I'm honestly amazed by all of the Story Alerts/Faves/Etc. this thing got! I just kinda wrote it up on a whim…But I'll be honest, updates will be kind of slow because of classes. And my major case of Writing Anxiety. ;_; I am working on the first full chapter though, I promise, and I'll try to have it out sometime this week!
Also, I'll be honest again readers: I always kind of forget that the Meta-Crisis Doctor happened…Because, well, I like to pretend that he didn't. So I didn't even take that into account. So it will be AU in that aspect, as well as maybe a few others. So here's a small bit before the first full-length chapter. Thanks everyone!

They were being watched. They were being watched, and she knew it.
She reached down to her chips, grabbed another and took a small bite, playing it cool.
"You see him, don't you?" she asked, not gesturing which way or the other.
"'course. He's sticking out like a sore thumb over there." He wasn't eating, content in sitting with his fellow watchee as she enjoyed her lunch. He leaned over the table, taking a sip of his pop, being careful not to give anything away. In reality, he was nervous. They didn't get into situations like this anymore. He wouldn't tell anyone, but he often missed the rush of adrenaline he'd feel back then.
"What do you think," he allowed his eyes to shift towards the strange man. "Shape shifter?"
She quickly reached over and slapped at his hand. "I thought I told you that you could come only if you didn't do something like that," she whispered through clinched teeth.
"Sorry," he mumbled, shamefully hanging his head. "It's just…I haven't felt like this in a long time, y'know? Sorry."
"I know…just stay calm and everything'll be fine," she said, picking up her own pop and taking a few sips.
"Okay then, what do we do?" he asked, excitement threatening to boil over.
"Well, he's been following me around for a few days now, he's sure to act soon," she thought out loud, more than said. If she were being honest, she really had no idea what he'd do next. For all she knew, he could grow another head and swallow the both of them whole at once.
She shuddered inwardly. That'd be a way to go.
"Hey, he's walking off, should we—"
"No," she cut him off. "Just…calm. I'm trying to put together a plan for tomorrow."
And so they waited.
