Chapter One: The Unlucky Lucky Day…

Six Years Later…..

~With Barbie~

Laughter floated across the air as a group of teens walked down the street. Most of them were female, though there was one male amongst them. A slender blonde with blue eyes led them, confidence filling each step she took. Noticing a low wall coming up, she ran over and flipped onto it easily, before calmly strolling along it. Her friends ran after her, before slowing once they were next to her on the street.

One of the other girls, one with long brown hair and tannish skin, spoke up, amusement dancing in her eyes. "Wow! Adventurous today aren't ya Barbie?"

A laugh escaped the blonde as she turned to face her friends, somehow never losing her balance. "Maybe… Dad wants to take us camping later this month…and I can't wait another day Theresa!"

Theresa glanced over at a slightly shorter girl that was next to her. She had long, silky black hair and pale skin that hinted at an Asian ancestry. The two girls were Barbie's best friends and did a bit with her practicing for her various movies and occasionally acting in the movie with her. Shrugging, her other friend turned her attention to Barbie, a smile on her face. "Come on, people might start to give you weird looks if you don't get down from there."

"Stop worrying Renee. I know what I am doing!" Barbie flipped with practiced ease onto the cement sidewalk in front of them.

"Barbie…sometimes you scare me!" The only male in the group protested as he paled slightly.

Renee and Theresa grinned as they glanced at each other, wiggling their eyebrows. Barbie rolled her eyes as she nudged him. "Gee, thanks for the concern Ken. Come on. I told Mom and Dad not to expect me home till after dinner. So what do you guys wanna do?"

A whole day to just be with her friends? Today truly was her lucky day!

~With Skipper~

Skipper grinned as she snapped a picture of her and her friends getting ready to go into the concert hall. After all it wasn't everyday that she had tickets to go see her favorite band…and with her friends in her home town! Today was her lucky day!

~With Stacie~

Stacie laughed as she watched her best friend fly across the ramp in the middle of the skate park. Dropping her board down, she took off, gaining speed quickly. Flying into the air, she grabbed the board as she flipped, before placing the board back under her feet seconds before she landed with a sharp thud onto the concrete ramp.

An entire day with her bestie? Totally her lucky day!

~Back at the House~

George worked out the finer details of his latest project, while his wife was on the phone, talking to someone about needing a new scientist on her team at work. A giggle drew his attention to a little girl with long blonde hair and bright blue eyes that was playing with a teddy bear and, not one but, four puppies near the couch in the living room.

Chuckling, he stood up and walked over to her. Dropping down to one knee, he reached over and tickled her suddenly. A squeal of pure joy and surprise escape as she turned to hug him. The puppies all yelped as they pawed at him, demanding attention.

"Daddy! I thought you were working!" The little girl smiled up at him, her one front tooth still missing since it fell out a few days ago.

George smiled as he scratched each puppy behind the ear. "I know…but that doesn't mean I can't make time for my little Chelsea now does it?"

Chelsea smiled before holding up the teddy bear to him. "Dr. Wiggles was just making sure that the puppies are getting plenty of play time, cause that is important for ones' health."

"Oh? It is? Well, I'll have Dr. Wiggles know that I am perfectly healthy." George chuckled as he pushed his glasses further up his nose.

Chelsea brought the toy to her ear, as if it were telling her a secret. "Daddy… Dr. Wiggles says that the puppies are getting enough playtime but you and Mommy work too much!"

"Oh no! What should we do about that?" Margaret asked as she walked over to join the little game.

Chelsea pretended to think about it, before suddenly tapping her father on the arm. "Tag! You're it!" Running, she fled the room. The puppies yipped and yelped as they followed her.

George grinned as he turned to face his wife. Margaret narrowed her eyes at him, even as she slowly backed away. "On no you don't George! I'm too fast for you to catch!" With that said, she spun around and ran off as well.

Laughing full heartedly, the grown man began to run through his house looking for his wife and young daughter.

….

Chelsea giggled as she hide behind the closet door, hearing her parents excited squeals whenever they came inches of each other. Chelsea didn't mind the fact that her older sisters were allowed to leave the house by themselves to hang with their friends while an adult had to be with her and her friends. In all honesty, she understood that they were, well, older. And very much more responsible than her. Besides that, her parents always played with her when she asked them.

The sound of someone knocking on the door drew Chelsea out of her thought process, a frown quickly crossing her face. No one was expected to come over which meant that it must be the snobby neighbors that were really annoying wanting to complain about something. They liked to think that they were the most important people in the world, though the fact they rarely end up in the newspaper or magazines that her parents never bought told her that they really weren't.

Her father walked past her hiding spot, opening the door a crack. "Yes? How may I…" He froze suddenly, stiffening in horror. "Leave now. You are not welcome here and I will call the cops."

An unfamiliar voice responded to that, sending a chill down Chelsea's back. "Oh…but I was really hoping to have a word with you about how long do you think you can live?"

Terrified, Chelsea slipped out from her hiding spot, hugging her teddy close to her chest. She now could see who it was and decided that something really wasn't right. The man that was at the door had a funny glint in his eyes, similar to the one that many actors that her eldest sister worked with pretended to have. He also had her father at gun point and had a companion that was just as hard as him holding another gun. "Daddy… I'm scared." Chelsea tugged on her father's pant leg.

Shock flooded the two men, a telltale sign that they didn't know about her. Didn't they read or watch the news? They recently donated a ton of money to open up a new orphanage to replace the one that was being torn down. George turned around and pulled her off of his leg. "Chelsea…I need you to go upstairs and stay in your room. No matter what happens, don't leave your room until your usual babysitter gets here. Understood?"

Chelsea felt confusion slip in. Usual babysitter? But that would be her eldest sister! Why didn't he just say till Barbie gets home? She glanced over at the strange men, and decided that she could easily do that. "Ok Daddy."

"And take the puppies with you."

Chelsea nodded, before running up the stairs. "Come on puppies! Follow me!" The four puppies ran after her, glancing back frequently at the two strangers.

Margaret, who had slipped into the entry way during this, worriedly bit her bottom lip as she scrunched her eyebrows together. Upon seeing this clearly not at all respectable men enter her home, she decided to take care of ensuring her little girl's safety farther. "House…instantiate lock down mode for all bedrooms."

"Voice recognized. Bedrooms are under lockdown mode now." A bodiless voice drily announced.

Now to deal with these men…

A/N: Done! Umm, might take me awhile to thank everyone that favorite, followed, and reviewed this story…. So thank you! I guess it really did need to get written and posted out there. Um yeah… George in a very strange way told her to wait for Barbie. And the bedrooms are under lock down…as in steel walls cover every single entrance to every single bedroom in that house. I really hope you guys enjoy this little chapter!
