Previously on Think Eternity:

He was easily identifiable amongst the crowd of people, towering over all that passed by him and sign was held clear in his hands. It read 'Kagome Taishou'. For a moment Kagome questioned the order of her name, but realized that other countries wrote the surname following the first name, and she mentally smacked herself for not having thought of it before. Walking up to him, the large man greeted her," 'Ello, I'm Hagrid, the 'Ogwarts gamekeeper."

Presently:

Hagrid was a rather pleasant man, with his warm nature that was slightly hindered by his large intimidating frame and strong accent. To Kagome though, his stature played no part in her evaluation of him, yet his accent made conversation a tad harder. Still, he was rather interesting and had various smells exuding from his form. Kagome found it strange that the man had so many items within his coat, but it could've just been his way of remaining prepared at all times.

"Where to now?"

"Ah- uhm- we're goin' to head over ter Diagon Alley," he nodded in self-reassurance," to grab yer school supplies. Its just a few blocks away from 'ere, not much offa walk for you, is it?" Kagome waved her hand dismissively at his question, head shaking with the action. Kagome loved to explore and get lost, which meant a lot of trekking on foot seeing as she wasn't of age to operate a car. When she was younger she often got blisters on her feet, but now they'd grown used to her wanderlust.

Hagrid beckoned Kagome to follow him as he lead her through the thick crowds of people. People easily parted around him, so it made it easy to get through all the people, many of whom openly stared at Hagrid. They walked for several minutes in relative silence, instead favoring peace in their companionship. Kagome took that time to survey their surroundings as they walked. England truly was different from her home in Japan, but she wondered just how her new school would compare to either.

Exiting her thoughts, Kagome noted that Hagrid had stopped walking, and was eyeing the shops before them. She too turned her eye to the the shops, and noticed something peculiar. There were quite a few heads turned at the shops, yet they seemed to hop over one shop in particular, the Leaky Cauldron. No sooner did she take note of the strange behavior did Hagrid hastily make his way into the store.

The Leaky Cauldron was a rather dank, dark place, with a handful patrons. There was music playing, but it was only an undertone due to the loud nature of the customers, several of which were drunk and singing off key to an unfamiliar tune. A pair of men were crying, wailing something about Quidditch in their drunken state as the bartender attempted to placate them. The bartender, who's name tag read Tom waved distractedly at Hagrid, before he resumed his earlier consoling. Hagrid grinned, a low chuckle rumbling his chest as he and Kagome continued down the establishment and to the back.

Kagome's eyes narrowed as she memorized Hagrids umbrella placement, before widening as the brick wall that they had been incased in opened to reveal a bustling street. Yet, unlike the ones outside, the shops were bright and eye-catching, and strange smells attacked her nose. The people donned strange garments, cloaks and robes that were extremely foreign to her, even by English standards. Still, it was intriguing no less and her eyes soaked up the new sights that were presented to her.

"Well, firs' things first, time ter get yer money for yer school supplies. Means we'll be headin' on over to Gringotts, its like a bank for Wizards." Kagome nodded in understanding, having read up on the bank in her research of wizard culture.

Gringotts was a rather interesting place, and it was a bit more extravagant than her book had entailed. It was ginormous, and had an interesting travelling system. The goblins were rather intriguing characters, all seeming fairly rude but maybe it was due to the way wizards treated them. Kagome had observed that more often that not the wizards demanded what they had come for and if they didn't get served in a timely manner, they would throw a fit. Still, maybe it was just the people who had come in that particular day, but all in all Kagome believed that there needed to be a higher level of respect paid to the creatures.

After exchanging her money and receiving a brief lesson about wizard economy, Kagome followed Hagrid as he directed her to many shops and stores, each unique in their own way and containing extremely interesting merchandise. They had finished buying her books and the things she needed for her core classes, and were off to grab her robes before snagging a wand.

A bell jingled as Kagome entered Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions, Hagrid unable to due to his large stature. The woman operating the store was busy with an older boy, whom was also being fussed over by his parents as she went through various styles of robes.

The bell jingled once more as someone else entered the store. A young girl, about Kagome's age was ushering her parents into the store, curls wild and frizzy yet beautiful all the same. The girl had gorgeous caramel skin, and she greeted Kagome with a big grin showing of a pair of larger than normal teeth. Still, Kagome could tell that the girl was a beauty, and returned the smile.

The girl pointed to a pair of chairs for her parents to sit in, and the couple obeyed to instead take in the unfamiliar shop. She then turned to Kagome and walked up to her, "Hi! My name's Hermione Granger. You're getting your school robes too, aren't you?"

Kagome nodded, "Yeah. I'm almost finished with all my school shopping, I just have one last stop 'till I'm home free!"

"I got my books earlier in the summer so I could practice, after all I have so much to learn! Honestly, I had no idea that wizards existed until one day a woman came to my house, and literally popped out the fireplace! Can you imagine the looks on our faces!" the girl, Hermione, smiled in reminiscence, " But we forgot to get the uniform, of all things!"

"Someone came to your house? All I got was a rather rude owl that wouldn't leave until I gave it some cookies. I swear that the creature has it out for me now!"

They continued to talk as Madam Malkin began to create their uniforms, each of them going to Hogwarts coincidentally, and pausing only when Madam Malkin asked them questions concerning little details or if it fit properly. Hermione was rather bright, leading to them having a rather interesting conversation concerning the Holocaust, and several friendly debates concerning various topics. Kagome found it amazing to have a fellow bright mind to converse with, and the girl was logical which was a trait that Kagome admired.

Following their fittings, Kagome explained to Hermione that she had yet to get her wand, and the girl had wished to aid her in the pursuits of knowledge considering wand handling and spells. So, with her parents permission, the pair had frolicked of to Ollivanders Wand Emporium while Mr. and Mrs. Granger chatted with Hagrid concerning the school they were going to ship their daughter off to. The half-giant had been pleased that Kagome had gained a friend so quickly, and was proud to exercise his knowledge of Hogwarts and help them gain better grasp the wizarding world.

Kagome's wand had been a tricky find, but was found after several, messy tries. It was created in the feudal era, a time long since dead, but contained crushed purification beads, and several nameless demon hairs and small drops of blood. Kagome swore there was even a ground wolf youkai tooth in there.

Although Ollivander himself wasn't fully aware of such, Kagome could smell more of its contents than he could name. The scent had faded after 500 odd years, but scent was a rather useful method in discerning the many items the wand contained. Still, she was grateful for the mans help and knew that it wasn't the only foreign wand he kept in stock. She paid the interesting man, whom was rather frazzled if she said so herself, and continued talking to Hermione whom produced her own wand and provided some of her own newfound skills on the wand.

Needless to say, this wizarding world was interesting, far different from the demons and mikos that she was generally exposed to. Kagome had a feeling that something big would come out of this 'Hogwarts', but what it was exactly she couldn't truly say. All she knew was that if worst came to worst, she'd protect those she held close.

No matter what measures she had to take.
