This took a while to do because I had a project to do, but trust me, I tried. Enjoy!
At the end of class Sora ran back towards his home, ready to tell his father about his first real job. He told his dad, talking in a crazed frenzy. When his dad told him to calm down he took a deep breath and explained it again. When he finished his dad pulled him up into a hug. Sora may have been 16, but he still did love a good hug with his dad. After all, his dad was very careful about when he gave out rewards. Daiki, Sora's father, put him back down in the floor and smiled at him warmly. He shooed Sora to bed and tucked him in, walking out with a wink. His purple hair, that he tied into a ponytail, whipped around his head, his knights armor shining.
Sora was determined to become as good a fighter as his father, if not better. Sora headed back to class again and joked around with them, Eventually Karma and Nagisa entered, talking to each other. They both nodded towards each other and diverged, since Nagisa taught us in the mornings. "Alright, alright, calm down. Sora, come up here." He said, waving his hand.
Sora walked up to the front of the class, nervously drumming his fingers against his leg. Some of the kids near the back groaned. Sora was called rather often to demonstrate his skills or simply to show them what they should be like. "Sora, meet me in the hallway in a few minutes." Nagisa said.
One of the kids who groaned earlier turned to his friend and whispered, "Finally the perfect student did something wrong."
A few minutes later Nagisa walked through the door and put his hand in Sora's shoulder. "You're 16, correct?"
Sora nodded. "Your parents wanted me to tell you something. We have to go towards the plains outside though, just incase." Nagisa said, leading Sora outside.
"You're a Dreadbeast. Yes, one of the beings that could defeat a very large guild with only a single mediocre dreadbeast. Oh, and also… arimpusegasup." Nagisa said, upon going a fair distance away from the class.
Suddenly an explosion of wind happened and caused Nagisa to fly backwards; Sora's eyes went black with purple irises. Shadows erupted from his body, forming a creature. Two red eyes appeared within it. Power leaked out of him, causing Nagisa to not dare to stand. Sora collapsed eventually, causing the creature to disappear. Nagisa muttered to himself while carrying Sora towards the nursery. "I know they told me that the keyword I used was the most powerful, but I still think that was a bit much."
Sora woke up with a headache. He put his hand in his hand to comfort himself. He rubbed it a little and attempted to stand. His knees buckled instantly. He laid there in the floor for a few seconds before Izumi walked into the room. She rolled her eyes before picking him up and putting him back in the bed. "That keyword really did a number on you… Well hey, in a bit you might as well be most powerful than you ever were."
Sora glanced up at her, but even that seemed difficult. It was almost as if he no longer had any energy to call his own. He decided that sleeping would be the best, and least painful, way to healing. He woke up again, this time feeling refreshed. He hopped out of the bed and scanned his body for any irregularities. There were no differences. He walked out of the door and headed towards the class. He opened the door to find Nagisa going over a few useful attack spells. He stepped into the classroom and said, "Hi guys. Ya miss me?"
Most of them rolled their eyes, but even more of them were smiling. Besides, of course, the jealous ones. "Okay Sora, sit down. We are learning a spell called Fire Breath. It's more useful because it can be used for as long as you can breathe outwards. We just started." Nagisa said, pointing towards his seat.
Sora took a seat, and pulled out his sketchbook. He wrote down what Nagisa said, rating it's strength and utility. After class he walked up to Nagisa and asked him what he had done when he had been knocked unconscious. "Well… as you now know, you are a Dreadbeast. I used the keyword that transforms a young dreadbeast without a form into a Lord Shadow Wraith." Nagisa replied, leading him towards the library.
He handed Sora a book and walked off. Sora opened it and saw that the book was about dreadbeasts, their keywords, and the transformation. The book stated that each dreadbeast was born with a simple shadow like feel. They also had a natural talent for stealth, magic and combat with knives or scythes. Eventually, upon hearing a keyword spoken, they take the form dedicated to the keyword. All the transformations were shadow based. For example, afexdraguse was a spell meant to transform the person into a shadow tiger. Sora swiped through the book, finding the page in Lord Shadow Wraiths.
Keyword: Unknown,
Powers: Enhanced senses, shadowmancy, scythe, guns, and dagger proficiency, access to Shadow Realm, Shadow Mode, strongest dreadbeast, possibly strongest race overall.
Appearance: Similar to a normal human until Shadow Mode activated. Notable Member: Grim Reaper.
Shadow Mode: Cloaked in shadows, forming a cloak that reaches their ankles. Edges of cloak ripped. Hood, mask of various appearances.
Sora read through the abilities a bit more and attempted to use [Shadow Travel] which utilized the Shadow Realm for teleportation. He snapped his fingers and appeared within a slightly more purple version of the room he was previously in. He stepped through the door out of the room and saw that everything was pretty much exactly the same as the real world. The main difference being that there was a huge obsidian castle nearby. He also noticed that there was a waypoint within it. He hesitated before focusing on it. Sora suddenly teleported there. He opened the huge double doors and saw that there were ten people, drinking and laughing. They hardly acknowledged his arrival, except for a few who seemed to be sober. Sora had been warned to evade places like this, but in this occasion there seemed to be no way he couldn't. He wanted to know what this castle was for, and if it posed a threat. He walked over to the bartender who was cleaning a cup. "What can I do for ya, kid?" He said, leaning over to see Sora.
"I want to know what this place is. Also what it's doing in the Shadow Realm." Sora responded, taking a seat in one of the stools.
"Well, that's because we are all Lord Shadow Wraiths. We are the last of our kind, including you. I told your parents the keyword, so they could tell you, a powerful individual that may surpass the strongest of us." The bartender stood up straight and continued cleaning his cup. "I'm the current leader of the Lord Shadow Wraiths."
Sora asked him if they could train together, and he accepted. A few supposed days later, Sora said goodbye and headed back to his class. When he appeared, he discovered that only a few minutes have passed in this world, unlike the Shadow Realm. He smiled to himself and used [Shadow Travel] to appear in Karma's class. Well, outside, since he wasn't sure if he wanted the rest of the class to know about him being a Lord Shadow Wraith. He opened the door and entered the class. Karma looked at Sora lazily and said "You're late. Faster next time."
Sora apologized and took a seat. While class went on, Sora thought about the skills he had learned. The bartender in the Shadow Realm taught him a lot about what the Lord Shadow Wraiths could do. Eventually someone next to him shoved him lightly. "You shouldn't space out like that. You never know when Karma's gonna give out a quiz or something."
Sora turned to the one who tapped him. It was Sayuri. Currently she wore the same clothes as she had on the previous mission, her usual clothes. She also happened to be the class rep. "Yeah, sorry. Thanks." He replied.
She nodded and turned back to Karma. After class, Sora took a detour. He practiced thoroughly, using two guns that the bartender had handed him. They weren't specifically powerful but nonetheless, the range would be useful. Well, technically the guns were overly powerful, since gunslingers were rare. As were guns in general. He finished training and then headed home for the day.
Alright, so uh... Do me a favor and review me if you see anything that I could improve on. Thank you if you did, if not, I don't mind.
