"Help! Brother, help me! N-no! G-get away from me! Get away! HELP!"
Griffin jerked awake. The voice from his dream was familiar, but he couldn't make out who it was. Griffin's stomach churned. Whoever it was knew Griffin and needed help.
"Griffin, are you alright?"
Griffin jumped and looked for the speaker. Luna was staring at him, obviously worried.
"I-I'm fine."
"You were muttering in your sleep. Are you sure you feel alright? You were muttering 'No! Get away from her! I'm coming!'"
Griffin looked away. "I'm fine. Just a nightmare…" He shuddered. The voice was faintly and painfully familiar.
"Alright, but try to control yourself, 'kay? You almost slapped me in your sleep." Luna grinned, but the grin soon faded when she saw the concern on Griffin's face.
"You don't look ok, Griff. What's up?"
He sighed. "Luna, there was someone in trouble in my dream. I knew the voice, but I don't know who it is. She…called me, or someone, 'brother'. It can't be me though. I... don't have any siblings."
Luna's face brightened and she murmured, "Unless…"
"Unless what? Unless I have a sister Mom didn't tell me about?" Griffin muttered angrily.
"Let's go talk to Marina, Griff. I have a feeling..." Luna's voice trailed off and as she sailed toward Marina.
Griffin sighed. I don't have a sister! What is Luna thinking? He thought. But somewhere in his head a voice whispered: Go, Griffin. Go to your mother. Ask her about this. I promise she'll tell you the truth.
Griffin flapped after Luna, unsure of what he was doing.
Shade watched his son. We should have told you sooner, Griffin. But it was too much for us.
