A/N Whoa an update. Yes, I am reviving this dinosaur. I contemplated rewriting the first chapter but that feels like cheating. We deal with a severe lack of editing like adults.
That being said... Enjoy a continuation no one asked for.
Chapter 2 Moving.
Bella (Izzy) POV
"Stop. That."
"Hmmm," I replied without looking up from my laptop.
"The tapping. Stop it."
"You'd think you were my dad or something. Not my bodyguard/glorified babysitter," I mutter gaze never straying from the dim screen. We may have been several miles in the air on our way to the middle of nowhere to accomplish Merlin knows what but the internet waits for no one. Not even an ex-German soldier, turned hitman, turned designated adult. I stopped tapping though. There'sno counting for him when he's in one of his moods.
"Must you be sarcastic?" he sighs native accent long since replaced with a British one.
"I'm a 17-year-old girl being told to uproot her whole life right before A-levels to travel cross the pond to some place named after cutlery because some man who walked out on me mum 15 years ago died and left me his property of some such nonsense in a will I knew nothing about. And getting a barrister to take care of it is unseemly. So yes, I am a tad sarcastic given the circumstances," I hit the tray in front of me in a show of exasperation. Managing to "accidentally" spill my drink on myself. "Damnit." I groan grabbing a napkin and start to whip myself down.
"Oh you poor dear I'll be right back with some more napkins and a new drink don't you worry," comes the voice of a stewardess followed by fast walking and a shout to coworkers. Mission accomplished.
"Always with the dramatics," Gregor mutters while helping me to move my stuff.
"Just doing my job," I reply equally soft before exclaiming "Fantastic, just fantastic, I finally find out what happened to the sperm donor and he's dead, then I have to go to where he's been hiding out my whole life, and my friends are all gonna forget me, and so Harry and I'm going to a new school and I don't know anybody. I don't wanna be the new kid. I'm too old to be the new kid. And our plane was late and I forgot my phone charger so I have to get a new one, and my favorite shirt is ruined by chocolate ice cream that wasn't even very good, and my shoe's more or less broken and WHY WON'T MY FRIENDS RESPOND TO MY CHAT! THEY'VE ALREADY FORGOTTEN ME!" I start to sob after putting my head on my laptop. Gregor sighs before awkwardly patting my back.
"Oh, you poor dear. Let's get you cleaned up." The stewardess from earlier is back. I raise my head and sniffle. Her hand is outstretched. I take it and follow her to the back of the plane. I can practically hear Gregor rolling his eyes. I'm still 'sniffling' when we reach the back. She sits me down as her and the other stewardesses begin fussing over me. I should really take up a career in acting. After like face surgery. You are a tad recognizable in the right circles. And besides. This is so much more fun. It's all the fun of acting but with the added fun of bringing countries down. Now. To become Bella Swan. Let the stewardesses fuss while you become the cover. Isabella Swan. Age 17. Born to Renee and Charlie Swan. Charlie leaves when you're two and you're mother relocates to Arizona to become a kindergarten teacher. When you're 11 she dies and you're sent to relatives in England. You bounce around a bit and even attend a private boarding school in Northern Scotland at one point before your aunt is determined unfit to care for you and you're thrust into the system. You're then adopted by a lovely, but elderly couple, who left you everything. Including their butler Alistor. A week ago you were notified that Charlie had passed and you were his sole beneficiary. Sending someone else was beneath you so here you are. Finishing your schooling in America while you close out the estate and curse his name. Your friends are Alison, Mark, Pheobe, Tristan, and Harry. You and Harry sort of have a thing but you aren't quite sure where you stand as both of you are going through too much to be worrying about it. You decided to discuss it when you get back.
"That should do it." You blink and look in the mirror being held in front of you. Not bad. Stained clothes have been changed for what must have been in the lost and found or otherwise stored for this purpose for they were a tad ill-fitting but reasonably clean long-sleeved shirt and jeans that required a belt but were more or less the proper length and shoes that hadn't gotten 'stuck' in an escalator. She presses a tissue in my hand and then hands me a hot chocolate after I blow my nose.
"Th-thank you," I reply attempting something close to what might be considered an almost smile. The lady just smiles and walks me back to my seat.
"Just holler if you need anything else okay?" she whispers firmly when I sit and waits for my responding nod before she leaves. I almost feel bad for the deceit. No matter she'll be getting a raise in the near future and that's that. Now to finish creating Bella Swan's online presence and we're in business. Check watch. Four more hours. That's plenty of time.
"This it then?" Gregor asks when we pull up to the front of a run down house in our rented crossover.
"Yup. Home for the next six months. Give or take."
"Come on Isabella. It'll be fine."
"Will you just call me Bella."
"Nope."
"What kind of butler are you anyway?"
"One whose employee is to get you to bed and ready for classes tomorrow and an appointment with the deceased lawyer this weekend."
"I hate you."
"I know. Now get your bags and get inside."
"Do I HAVE to go to school tomorrow?"
"Yes, Isabella."
"Ugh. I hate you so much," I say grabbing my bags and 'storm' inside the safehouse with one quick scan of the woods before the door slams behind me. Something's coming. I would've sworn that I saw something streak just out of sight. But that would be crazy. That would mean... No Bella. Don't go there.
Alice's POV
"Anything!"
"Nothing."
"What do you mean 'nothing' Edward! Is it her or not?"
"I don't know. I can't read her mind. Her butler called her Isabella to which she responded asking him to call her Bella. It's definitely the new girl. But I don't know for sure if it's the same girl as the one in your vision. She looks... different."
"-Can't read her mind!" "Looks different?" "Butler?" everyone exclaimed simultaneously.
"No, I can't read her mind. No, I don't know why. Yes, different. No, I can't explain it. You'll see for yourselves tomorrow. And yes butler. She called him that outloud and he thought it as well. His mind is very disciplined for a human. I couldn't read any stray thoughts but he is very protective of her. And no one is prettier than you Rosalie. Happy? I'm going to my room. Carlisle. Esme." he nods to both of them in turn before taking for the stairs.
"You can all determine for yourselves tomorrow. Alice?" Carlisle questions.
"I can't tell. Everything is changing rapidly. Like she keeps changing her mind. Ugh! What's the point of having visions if they're so useless!"
"Jasper?"
"She was distraught and confused but hid it well. Considering her father just passed and how many times she was bounced around it's understandable."
"I'd hate to have to move so soon after arriving. But..."
"Our safety comes first."
"Be wary. We move when we determine if a threat exists." Rosalie opens her mouth but a quick hand on her shoulder and an inclined head in the direction of their room quickly silences her.
"Alice."
"Hmm."
"It'll be fine."
"I know Jazz. It's just..."
"None of our abilities are working like they're supposed to?"
"Sorta. I just have a bad feeling. It's fine. We'll be fine." She says more firmly inclining her head to kiss his cheek
"Winter is coming?" Jasper grins.
"Shut up."
A/N
Yes/No? No promises for updating but I may actually post another chapter at some point. The fact that I remember anything from canon is astonding. Til next time.
