Molly was stunned. Her boyfriend was kneeling before her with a diamond ring glistening in his hand. When she came to the party, she didn't expect to leave with a diamond ring and a fiance. Maybe a few kisses and an excited boyfriend, but nothing this extreme. The young adult dreamt of this moment for years, and now it was finally happening. After all the bumps and cracks that revealed themselves in their relationship, they came out on top. So much has happened that lead them to this point. Each little moment played back in Molly's head like a broken record. She remembered the arguments, her parents disowning her, his mother being diagnosed with heart disease, everything. His last proposal attempt was fresh in her mind. This wasn't the first time he asked her to marry him.

She recalled the excitement of her boyfriend, caught in the thrill of high school graduation. He was lonely and hurt since his mother became ill. He tried asking for her hand in marriage at a pep rally before the ceremony. The entire school watched him announce her name. The look on his face was more than hopeful, but pleading. Molly recalled being pressure to say yes, but she couldn't bring herself to do it. She knew that they weren't ready for the commitment. That was the day she had unintentionally shredded Gil's heart into pieces.

Now was her chance to fix the mistake she made long ago.

The pink haired girl thought of what to say, realizing that she was still silent. An 'I love it!' would sound too greedy, and an 'of course I'll marry you!' sounds too cheesy. Suddenly, the girl could feel something warm pour down her face. It only took her a moment to realize that they were tears. As if by instinct, Molly jumped into the arms of the one she loved the most, catching him in a tight embrace.

"Yes." She sobbed. "Yes, I will."

the blue haired male held his fiance tightly in his grasp. He felt tears of joy bubble in his throat as he held her. The party guests were going ballistic. Many were taking pictures or recording the commotion with their cell phones.

Once the excitement died down, the party goers continued their festivities. Molly was too excited to do anything else. She couldn't stop smiling. She gazed at her ring with total admiration. The silver loop fit perfectly around her finger. A clear cut diamond half the size of a pea was embedded inside of the metal.

Her fragile mind had yet to understand what all of this meant.

This meant that in a matter of months, this person, this man, will be her husband. Their souls will be bound in a loving partnership for eternity. They'll go from years of being boyfriend and girlfriend to something bigger. They will be husband and wife. Scary...

Their relationship will reach a giant milestone. One that changes everything. The pink haired girl sat beaming as she fantasized. In a year or so, they'll be married. Then after they get their careers in check, they'll get an apartment or a house. And maybe in a few years, they might have a child. An actual baby of their own creation.

Molly couldn't hold her excitement. She quickly left the party, her fiance followed. They departed with many compliments thrown in their direction. The two lovebirds departed to Gil's dorm, finding sanctuary in the empty room.

The pink haired latina couldn't contain her joy.

"Oh my god," she uttered through a fit of laughs.

The male chuckled, "what?"

"Nothing. It's just. Why me?"

Gil slouched on the nearby couch, "What do you mean?"

Molly followed, snuggling next to him, "I mean, why me? Out of all the girls in the world, you chose me. After everything that lead up to this, you stayed. Why?"

The blue haired male turned, looking straight into the eyes of his future bride, " I knew that I would want to spend the rest of my life with you since preschool. I just had to wait until it was, you know, legal."

The pink haired girl giggled, and snuggled into the crook of Gil's neck.

"I just sorta knew. We've been together for as long as I can remember. I honestly can't imagine being with anyone else. I wouldn't want to be with anyone else, either. You're all I need to be happy, Molls."

Molly beamed. She gave her fiance a loving peck on the lips.

"There's so much to do," she sighed, "First we have to hire a wedding planner, then come up with a guest list, a venue, and a theme. Ugh, then I have to choose where the reception will be.."

"For a wedding? It sounds like you're planning some sort of convention."

"A wedding is much more than just a white dress and a few 'I Do's', Gil. We have to make this special! It has to be perfect. Or atleast close to perfect."

Gil shrugged, then grinned with excitement, "Whatever it takes, we'll do it together. I just can't wait to see you walk down that aisle in a beautiful white dress."

Molly laughed once more, "And I can't wait to finally call you my husband."

The two held each other in a warm embrace. Not even they knew of the intense chaos that would form in the next few months.
