Somewhere in the outskirts of Fiore.

Breeze looked extremely taken back, her grey eyes were wide and her lips were parted in surprise. Everyone seemed to collectively hold their breaths.

I stood still, unsure of how she would react to Natsu's outburst. Well you are currently treating her like a rabid animal, well done Lucy, great start. I relaxed my posture slightly and attempted to look natural. I didn't know much about the girl but from first impressions she didn't seem the type to snap at a an outburst.

Laxus looked a mixture concerned for Breeze and angry at Natsu, but his expression shifted to one I had never seen before when Breeze started giggling, "Hello Natsu Dragneel, I'm a Dragon Slayer too, it is a pleasure to meet you" she bowed slightly, her hands tucked together in front of her. She seemed more comfortable after Natsu's little episode. Nothing like someone else's embarrassment to get you out of your shell.

So she's a Dragon Slayer too?! I wonder if she uses Flames like Natsu or eats Iron like Gajeel. It seemed logical for me to assume this at the time, after all they were the only Dragon Slayers that I knew.It took a moment for that information to sink in. Laxus definitely didn't mention that. I suddenly had a bunch of follow up questions to her nonchalant statement, but I restrained myself. So did Natsu by the looks of him.

"Hm?" He smirked as his eyes danced over Breeze, taking in her features for himself. He shoved his hands in his pockets and stood suspiciously relaxed. I couldn't pinpoint what he was thinking about but I could safely guess he was excited to see her Dragon Slayer abilities in action. He was most likely fantasising about testing them himself.

"Hey! I'm Happy!" Happy greeted running up to her, fish in hand. Breeze's small smile faltered slightly at the sight of the little guy but she remained composed "Hello" her voice came out as a soft whisper. The mood in the group shifted a little as she seemed to lose a bit of confidence at the sight of the small cat.

We all stayed silent for a moment, Happy looked around awkwardly, obviously not sure how to feel about the not-so-enthusiastic greeting.

I decided that I should step in "So Breeze, where did you get those shoes?" I asked her motioning her to walk with me back down the path we travelled here on.

"Uhm, they were given to me by the nice shoemaker in town" she looked down at her shoes as we walked and a blush dusted her cheeks "Lucky!" I grinned.

On the path back to Magnolia.

Natsu's P.O.V

"She hates meeee~" Happy cried as he started chewing on his little fish. Tears were mixing with his saliva and creeping me out a little. I screwed my nose up in disgust, Happy let out a cry, showing the half-chewed fish still in his mouth.

"Hey buddy I'm sure she doesn't..." I paused, tapping my pointer finger on my chin, "well she likes me that's for sure" I said puffing out my chest and grinning. The look on Luce's face worried me a bit when I introduced myself, but it seemed worked out well. I think I was positively charming.

Laxus, Happy and I were walking behind the two girls, Lucy seemed to be doing most of the talking, classic Luce, but Breeze started to respond more and more the closer we got into Magnolia. Being able to hear most of their conversation, they both stuck to trivial topics like hobbies and favourite foods. My stomach growled out to her when Breeze mentioned she loved blueberry pancakes, I gave it a soft pat hoping it would settle.

"Don't be upset, Happy" Laxus attempted awkwardly to comfort Happy, "Breeze had a cat once just like you, her name was Rose they loved each other, they had a friendship no one could break. Just like the two of you." Laxus looked over at his sister, his eyes held a hint of sadness, I assume the memory was painful for him too.

"I've never seen a cat like Happy before, well besides Happy... Could she fly too?" I asked, Laxus replied with a simple nod. It was a shock to me that there were other cats like Happy out there.

"What happened?!" Happy gasped, his voice filling with understanding, coming to terms with the cold greeting he received earlier. I was about to interrupt, but it didn't seem like a topic Laxus was too fond of. I stopped myself, letting him go at his own time. And people thought I couldn't be considerate.

"The magic council were afraid of their combined power... or that's what their excuse was anyway. Rose was like you Happy she had wings, but she could also transform into a different version of herself. It was almost a human form, she actually reminded me of Erza a bit, strong-willed, good with a sword. Breeze trained her in hand-to-hand combat when they were both young" Laxus looked towards Lucy and Breeze. "Because Breeze's Dragon was the Storm Dragon, she can use Lighting, Air and Water magic. They caused no threat to the council, but the two of them together were seen as a potential threat, so they killed Rose, right in front of Breeze." He looked down to the ground this time, his face was a blank slate but you could tell his mind was enraged with emotions.

"I wasn't there, I wish I had been. I might have been able to do something..."

My eyes widened, My mind immediately wondered what I would do with myself if they did that to Happy. I clenched my fists, a sudden anger rising inside. "And Breeze did nothing about it?!" I questioned, my tone came out a little harsh. I'm glad it came out as a whisper or I would have feared the girl in question could hear me.

Laxus looked at me cautiously for a moment, then cracked a sad smile "Ha! Of course not. She just knew deep down there was no point in attacking the council because that was the reason Rose was killed in the first place, to stop the success of that. She never did anything irrational while grieving over Rose, because she knew her death would have been in vain otherwise" Laxus' laugh was sad, but he seemed to hold pride in his words. I could see why, despite it not being what I would have done, Breeze chose the moral option, and chose not to fight back.

I blinked a few times as my mind needed a moment to catch up. Then I could feel a pressure on my leg, I looked down to see Happy, his arms wrapped around my calf, "I LOVE YOU NATSU, I PROMISE I WONT DIE!" Happy yelled. I smiled and grabbed Happy off my leg and pulled him into a tight hug "I love you too buddy, and don't worry I won't ever let anything bad happen to you!" Happy cried into my chest. I could feel his tears soaking through my vest.

"Okay, okay it's getting gross now" I said jokingly and put him down. Happy smiled up at me, tears still streaming down his furry face.

"I feel really bad for Breeze now" Happy looked down at his little paws and sighed. "I know! We just have to make new memories with her, ones that make her happy to see me! It's in my name after all!" The blue little guy grinned holding his fish in the air like a trophy.

Laxus was about to say something but Happy had already ran off to join the girls, "You go ahead, I'll catch up" He sighed, I nodded and grinned at the girls and started running towards them, Breeze will fit in and I will make sure of it.

One week later.

Magnolia Delight Apartment Building, apartment 3A. Breeze Dreyar's residence.

"Breeze! You have to leave your apartment to complete a job!" I pointed out as I knocked on the door, her apartment building was only a five minute walk from the Guild Hall. She's practically there already! "and you need to visit the guild too! Now everyone knows you've been a Fairy Tail wizard all this time, they wanna meet ya!" I stuck my ear against the cream coloured door, trying to hear any muffled responses she might give. I could hear movement deeper in the apartment but she didn't seem to be approaching the door.

Lucy and Laxus have been trying to get her out for her apartment for the last few days, but she has refused. So as their "last resort" as Lucy so rudely put it, they tried sending me to get her. Pfft I should have been their first choice...

"But I've never been to the guild before Natsu, Grandpa Makarov always sent me jobs to complete, why does that have to change now? I don't want to meet people" I barely heard her whispers from inside, before I realised she was opening the door. I landed on the floor, ouch~. How did she sneak up on me? I blinked a little as I lied still, wondering how I hadn't heard her walk up to the door.

My face squished into the nice smelling carpet. It smelt of the whole apartment, a strange combination of rain and caramel, cool and sweet.

"Oh! I'm sorry Natsu!" Breeze crouched down at my side, her hands were balled up in her lap as she stared at me, unsure how to help. "I didn't know you were leaning on the door!" She tried to comfort me by giving me a brief pat on the back. It was a timid motion but I could sense the good intention behind it.

I turned my head to see her worried face "Don't worry, you snuck up on me" I laughed deeply, standing up. She followed my actions, standing up alongside me. I placed a hand her shoulder gently to reassure I was okay and she stiffened under my touch. I raised an eyebrow at her, she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and looked down at her feet. I couldn't she her cheeks but I would bed they had flushed red.

"Anyways I'm sure gramps has a good reason to move you here, so we should go ask him" I grabbed Breeze's hand which proceeded to make her blush a deeper shade of red.

"Let's go!" I grinned pulling her behind me.

On the short walk to Fairy Tail.

Breeze's P.O.V

Natsu is so kind. I think as he's literally dragging me to the Guild Hall. So is Lucy and even Happy. I've been in a strange place that I didn't understand for almost a week now and they've all helped me, in ways I'm not used too. They even introduced me to some of their friends and they made me feel welcome and really apart of this guild.

It was always strange to me that I've never visited the Guild hall before even though I have been a part of Fairy Tail for 11 years or so now. It wasn't like I was avoiding it on purpose, except for this last week, I just never had the need to be a typical wizard. As a person I find it hard to communicate with some people, most people. I admitted this fact to Lucy on the second day of my stay here in Magnolia, her advice was practice makes perfect, but I feel like I'm too old to be practising how not to be awkward. Which makes me feel awkward.

Over the last few days Lucy and Natsu have introduced me to a few other guild members with the thought that I would feel more comfortable if I knew a few more familiar faces to break up a sea of strangers. Gray Fulbuster, is an interesting character, even at my standards. He keeps taking his clothes off and leaving them in my apartment, I guess I need to get used to it. Juvia Lockser is a little bit creepy as well, apparently she was a part of the Element four. I found this hard to believe given her soft temperament but she is extremely nice, but seemed to hold a grudge against Lucy. Maybe Gray takes his clothes off for her? Surely in public is nor the time or the place for that...

"Breeze you made it!" Lucy exclaimed, she ran up to me and engulfed me in a hug? I stood still, unsure on what to do, I patted her back slightly in a stiff motion. She pulled away and I could tell my face was red from the sudden unexpected gesture. I let my long blonde hair fall over my shoulders "I-I'm sorry Lucy, I'm not used to hugs" I stammered, my body flinched at my own pathetic words.

I stood there waiting for them to laugh and make fun of me... But they didn't? "Well we will have to change that, won't we?" Natsu shot over a playful wink and left my side. He walked over to a large pin board that had 'Job Requests' written over it. The guild hall

My eyes widened at his words, now I'm practising hugs too, I'm feeling like I'm failing as a human being right about now. I didn't put much more thought into his words, I just wallowed in a pathetic feeling as I looked around the vast hall.

"Come on Breeze let's pick a job!" Happy grinned following Natsu. I looked up from a pile of lumber that had been shoved into a corner. It looked like the hall had just undergone renovations of some sort.

"uh sure" I said shyly. Lucy walked beside me, a spring in every step. "You'll have to tell us more about the jobs you go on! Wait, have you ever been on a job with a team before?" Lucy asked, her brown eyes looking over me in excitement.

I scratched the back of my neck. I thought about the jobs I took with Rose, we were a team. I didn't think that they would want to hear about that, not wanting to dampen the mood. "Uh, n-no I haven't"

"Hey what about this one, huh?" Natsu pointed at one.

"Find the bandits that stole my expensive necklace, it's for 20,000 jewel, not too bad your first mission as a team" Lucy read out the one Natsu pointed at.

I could feel that persistent blush creep onto my face as they all looked at me expectantly, "Uh I don't mind guys, r-really" I stuttered, the rewards for these missions are so low I made sure to keep my thoughts to myself, not wanting to offend anyone as I started reading different flyers. Split between the four of us, that doesn't leave much...

"Hey how about this one! We have to catch a rare fish! It's worth 15,000 jewel!" Happy started to do a little dance, I watched the fish-obsessed cat with amusement. "You know you couldn't eat the fish right!" Lucy groaned. I giggled, something made me think that Lucy has had to put up with a lot from these two.

"Well duh Lucy, but we can eat the ones that aren't rare!~" Happy sung and someone behind me cleared their throat, making everyone turn around to look.

"You do know that Breeze is an S-class wizard, she's not going to want to do stupid boring jobs with you" I turned around to see a fully-clothed Gray. Oh thank god for the clothes...

"WHAT SHE'S S-CLASS?!" Natsu and Lucy yelled, I looked at them puzzled "I told you before didn't I?" Natsu looked back at me, matching my puzzled. Okay maybe I didn't?

"You probably did, Natsu's not very good at listening..." Gray smirked at me. I grinned, trying to hold back a laugh.

"YOU WANNA GO GRAY?!" Natsu yelled and was suddenly face-to-face with The Ice Mage. Their cheeks pressed together, chests fighting for dominance. They seem... close.

The two started arguing, I was told that they do that a lot. They threw some rather childish insults back and foward, most o f them had sexual undertones. I was surprised I could think while all of this was going on, but I had an idea I thought they might like, "If you wanted I can go and find a S-class job from Grandpa?"

I could almost see Natsu's ears prick up in excitement. He let out a deep breath as a visible shiver pushed through him.

He pushed Gray's face away from his, accidentally poking the poor guy in the eye, but didn't seem bothered by it. He turned to me and gave me a creepy look, a unsettling grin stretched from ear to ear.

Lucy made a low hum, a noise of concern, "Uh I still haven't received the punishment form the last S-class job we "completed" so I'm not sure if Master will approve" she sighed, using her fingers to exaggerate to word completed. The blonde mage seem anything but happy reflecting back on those memories.

"Hey if Lucy gets to go I'm going as well!" Gray exclaimed, completely ignoring Natsu "I just said I wasn't sure!" Lucy protested.

"Uh okay" I smiled at Gray. I liked him a lot better when he wore clothes, he almost seemed the most normal out of them all when his skin was covered.

"OKAY I'M READY TOO, LETS GO!" Natsu yelled, grabbing Lucy and Gray by their necks, hugging them into his side in excitement. "Calm down Natsu, she has to choose a mission first" Lucy sighed as she struggled to get out of the Dragon Slayer's choke-hold. Her body flailed but her head stayed in place as Natsu persisted with a grin.

I smiled at her, "I'll be back."

I walked a few steps away from the group, listening to them bicker as I left. I took in the surroundings of the guild. People filled the hall, eating drinking and socialising. Some looked like they were in heated conversations, others looked like they were content enough to fall into a drunken sleep. The hall was large and deep, a faint smell of fresh paint lingered in the air as the beer and mass of people tried hard to mask the scent. I couldn't be sure, but it looked like a stage filled the far end of the guild. I'm not sure I could picture what happened there.

As my eyes wandered, I managed to catch a glimpse of Laxus' blonde head on what looked like a second floor. I smiled and walked up the stairs.

"Breeze, I know I said you had to make friends but you don't need to take those losers with you, they just argue all the time" Laxus grinned, just like any big brother he's secretly glad I'm fitting in. I let out a small giggle, but then dropped it to a straight face.

"Well if you didn't want me to make friends you shouldn't have forced me to come to the guild, or you could at least tell me why I had to come here all of a sudden" I walked over to a smaller version of the message board downstairs. It had plenty of room unlike its counterpart. This small board contained four sheets of paper pinned with golden tacks. Laxus' grin didn't shift at my harsh tone. He brought me here promising to explain my sudden uprooting, but every time I have seen him in the last week he proceeds to change the subject.

I know my brother well enough to understand if he wasn't going to tell me until he was good and ready.

My eyes read over the flyers on the board... "Maybe this is a bad idea." I spoke to myself reading the first one, something about a curse. "They aren't S-Class, I don't want to put them in any danger" I spoke again to myself.

I frowned at the missions on the board after reading the last one, they all sounded rather dangerous, liabilities it could just be a pain. My mind flicked to a funeral, where one of them had accidentally died because of the severity of the mission. I shivered, Not the best way to start off my time here. I stood staring at the board with my arms crossed, frustrated.

"Just go on a basic mission a contribute if they need you, you don't want them getting hurt because of their stubbornness. Natsu has enough of it in his pinkie finger alone." Makarov said sitting down on a chair near Laxus.

"But I just said I'd get them one Grandpa, I can't lie, we've just become friends" the frown on my forehead did not cease. I felt like a child in the school yard, not wanting to disappoint my new friends in fear of rejection. I could hear it in my voice too, the pathetic need to be accepted.

"Take this" Gramps said holding out a piece of paper, "A rich man had had some of his private possessions stolen and he's willing to pay 2 million jewel for them back, it's a low price compared to the other S-Class missions but they won't know that" he grinned, an evil glint shone in his eye. The old man stamped a 'S-class' seal on it so it looked authentic.

I took the paper from him and held it to my chest, a small smile on my face. My heart lifted at the feeling, "Thanks Grandpa" I waved at my two family members and made my way to the stairs.

"I'm proud of you, Breeze" Grandpa added before I flinched at his words, they hit a nerve.

Natsu, Lucy, Happy and Gray were waiting at the bottom of the stairs for me.

"SO?!" Natsu started.

"How'd it go?!" Gray finished eagerly.

I held up the piece of paper and they cheered, which made my face lift, I wish I could be proud of me Gramps...

So?~ How'd you like it?

Btw just a little side note, Laxus didn't go a little power crazy in the same timeline as the anime. Hints to it later on though. Ty ty xx
